GRASP (Group and Social Psychology) is an interdisciplinary conference, which aims to provide a community around social psychological issues for researchers, practitioners, and graduate students from the Nordic countries within the fields of psychology, sociology, education, behavioural sciences and social work to share, exchange, learn, and develop preliminary results, new concepts, ideas, principles, and methodologies, as well as bridging the gaps between paradigms, encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations, and advancing our understanding of groups and social psychology.GRASP 2014 was the ninth Nordic conference was held in Linköping and hosted by the Department of Behavioural Sciences and Learning at Linköping University. The theme of the conference this year was on inclusion and exclusion as social processes. Twenty-two papers were accepted and presented at the conference. Keynote speech was given by Dr Siân Jones from Oxford Brookes University and Dr Ken Mavor from University of St Andrews. In line with the main theme of the conference, Siân Jones talked about “Bullying and belonging: Experimental data, real-world data, tears, and tantrums”. Ken Mavor talked about “Encapsulating the things that matter: Exploring identities for learning, social action and wellbeing”.The topics of the individual papers at GRASP 2014 were: (a) the role of categorization in personal change through participation in collective action, (b) students’ perspectives on bullying incidents, (c) mindfulness in values education in schools, (d) team-training and the executive team’s organizational influence, (e) using discursive psychology to show how students do ‘being collaborative’ in group work, (f) operational leadership and knowledge-transfer in high risk operations, (g) communication of risk in oil and gas megaprojects, (h) verbal expressions of “compassion” in an academic context, (i) a descriptive study of work groups in the Swedish and U.S. economy, (j) challenges and panaceas, as experienced by physicians, when introducing a patient centred and team based round, (k) leadership and communication in cross-cultural teams in a study of Korean/Scandinavian collaboration, (l) conscientiousness and agreeableness among prisoners, (m) ‘dark values’ – the dark triad hiding in Schwartz’ value orientation, (n) gender and legitimacy in student project groups, (o) between Skylla and Karybdis within academia – peer leadership or management, (p) illusion of invulnerability, need for cognition and resisting persuasion, (q) the significance of management climate on the quality of elderly care, (r) benevolence towards men and women, and traditional views of upbringing – a backlash to gender equality, (s) the role of equality in the decision making process in small groups, (t) bullying and defender behaviour amongst school children – the importance of moral emotions and moral disengagement, and (u) development of learning models through social experiments considering widening recruitment of university students.These proceedings bring you seven of the 22 papers from the conference.

The workshop Digital Parliamentary Data in Action (DiPaDA 2022) was organised in Uppsala on March 15, 2022, co-located with the 6th Digital Humanities in the Nordic and Baltic Countries Conference (DHNB). These workshop proceedings reflect the aims of the workshop to foster interaction and stimulate conversations between humanities, social sciences, and computational sciences – representing scholars from the Nordic region and beyond that work with digital parliamentary data. The contributions in the proceedings present results of ongoing research on creating and using historical and present parliamentary data to study parliamentary culture, politics, language use, and the media. Moreover, the contributions offer novel perspectives on applying, curating, and representing this key societal data, and discuss the future opportunities and challenges in such research.

Media research on climate change : where have we been and where are we heading?

Research on media coverage of climate change, as a particular subfield of environmental communication research, has proliferated over the past decade. This book sets out to consider what conclusions can be drawn in light of the existing body of work, what lessons can be learnt, what are the challenges to be met, and what are the directions to be taken in order to further develop media research on climate change. The mixture of articles in this volume serve well to illustrate the range of empirical, theoretical, and methodological approaches subsumed under the broad heading of "media studies on climate change." Some contributions focus on the past—how the subfield has developed and what we can learn from that—and some look toward the future. Either way, all the authors share the ambition to suggest important avenues of research, be they centered on media, context, applicability of results, or theoretical advancement. As such they make a valuable contribution to identifying important directions for future research on the role of the media in communicating climate change. This book was previously published as a special issue of Environmental Communication.

The present event is the 4th Nordic Learning Analytics Institute (NLASI) (1st NLASI was held in Bergen (Norway) in 2017, 2d - in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2018, 3d- in Tallin (Estonia) in 2019). There were 15 papers submitted for peer-review to NLASI 2021. Out of these, 8 papers were accepted for this volume, 7 as regular papers and 1 as a short paper. NLASI 2021 was sponsored by Digital Futures and the Digitalisation Platform at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.

Recent advancements on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have resurfaced utopian and dystopian narratives on the future of work. The uniqueness of the AI technologies is their potential to supplement, substitute and amplify practically all tasks currently performed by humans. Hence, they hold the potential to rapidly reshape the nature of work and our economies (Frank et al., 2019). “How?” is the question. Optimists focus on its technological possibilities and postulate that AI will free humans from boring, repetitive tasks - allowing the creation of higher quality jobs - and emphasize new opportunities for organizations to create a competitive advantage. Skeptics, on the other side, highlight the possibility of increased unemployment or work degradation as human deskilling occurs due to an increased degree of decision and knowledge work delegation.

The second workshop on Theory-Informed User Modeling for Tailoring and Personalizing Interfaces (HUMANIZE) took place in conjunction with the 23rd annual meeting of the intelligent user interfaces (IUI) community in Tokyo, Japan on March 11, 2018. The goal of the workshop was to attract researchers from different fields by accepting contributions on the intersection of practical data mining methods and theoretical knowledge for personalization. A total of eight papers were accepted for this edition of the workshop.
