  • Optical properties of 4H-SiC
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Journal of Applied Physics. - : AIP Publishing. - 0021-8979 .- 1089-7550. ; 91:4, s. 2099-2103
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The optical band gap energy and the dielectric functions of n-type 4H-SiC have been investigated experimentally by transmission spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry and theoretically by an ab initio full-potential linear muffin-tin-orbital method. We present the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric functions, resolved into the transverse and longitudinal photon moment a, and we show that the anisotropy is small in 4H-SiC. The measurements and the calculations fall closely together in a wide range of energies.

  • Backward-forward motion compensated prediction
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of ACIVS 2002 (Advanced Concepts for Intelligent Vision Systems), Ghent, Belgium, September 9-11, 2002. ; , s. 260-267
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents new methods for use of dense motion fields for motion compensation of interlaced video. The motion is estimated using previously decoded field-images. An initial motion compensated prediction is produced using the assumption that the motion is predictable in time. The motion estimation algorithm is phase-based and uses two or three field-images to achieve motion estimates with sub-pixel accuracy. To handle non-constant motion and the specific characteristics of the field-image to be coded, the initially predicted image is refined using forward motion compensation, based on block-matching. Tests show that this approach achieves higher PSNR than forward block-based motion estimation, when coding the residual with the same coder. The subjective performance is also better.

    • This paper presents new methods for use of dense motion fields for motion compensation of interlaced video. The motion estimation is based on previously decoded field-images. The motion is then temporally predicted and used for motion compensated prediction of the field-image to be coded. • Electrical and optical properties of CNx(0=x=0.25) films deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering
  • 2001
  • Ingår i: Journal of Applied Physics. - : AIP Publishing. - 0021-8979 .- 1089-7550. ; 89:2, s. 1184-1190
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The electrical and optical properties of carbon-nitride CNx films (O=x=0.25) deposited by unbalanced reactive magnetron sputtering from a graphite target in mixed Ar/N2 discharges at a substrate temperature of 350°C have been investigated. Pure C films exhibit a dark conductivity at room temperature of 250 O-1 cm-1, which grows up to 250 O-1 cm-1 for CNx films with N content of 20%. For CNx films, temperature-dependent conductivity measurements suggest that two electron conduction processes exist in the investigated temperature range 130

  • A cell adhesion protein from the crayfish Pacifastacus leniusculus, a serine proteinase homologue similar to Drosophila masquerade
  • 2000
  • Ingår i: Journal of Biological Chemistry. - 0021-9258 .- 1083-351X. ; 275:14, s. 9996-10001
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A cDNA encoding a protein resembling masquerade, a serine proteinase homologue expressed during embryogenesis, larval, and pupal development in Drosophila melanogaster, was identified in hemocytes of the adult freshwater crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus. The crayfish protein is similar to Drosophila masquerade in the following aspects: (a) overall sequence of the serine proteinase domain, such as the position of three putative disulfide bridges, glycine in the place of the catalytic serine residue, and the presence of a substrate-lining pocket typical for trypsins; (b) the presence of several copies of a disulfide-knotted motif in the putative propeptide. This masquerade-like protein is cleaved into a 27-kDa fragment, which could be detected by immunoblot analysis using an affinity-purified antibody against a synthetic peptide in the C-terminal domain of the protein. The 27-kDa protein could be immunoaffinity-purified from hemocyte lysate supernatant and exhibited cell adhesion activity in vitro, indicating that the C-terminal domain of the crayfish masquerade-like protein mediates cell adhesion.
