    • Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien grundades 1771. Dess barndom var svår trots att det var välbärgade individer ur Stockholms överklass som valdes som medlemmar. En av akademiens legendariska sekreterare konstaterade 25 år senare att akademiens primära syfte då verkar ha varit att anordna ett eget lotteri och att styrelsens roll var att avnjuta "de goda Måltider, som wankades hos Gumman Noach eller Simsons hwid hwarje Lotteri-Dragning". Så småningom kom kungliga donationer. Riksdagen började bidra med årliga anslag. Från mitten av 1800-talet har en stor mängd donationer kommit från privatpersoner. Akademien har därför nu att förvalta donationsfonder om sammanlagt runt en miljard kronor. Fondernas urkunder anger de ändamål som akademien måste rätta sig efter. Under runt halvtannat sekel var undervisningen vid konservatoriet akademiens viktigaste uppgift. Därtill kom att bygga upp ett musikbibliotek och senare även ett musikmuseum och ett musikhistoriskt arkiv. Under senare delen av 1900-talet blev dessa fyra verksamheter överförda till statliga myndigheter. Musikaliska Akademien har sedan 1981 ägnat sig åt att föra musiklivets talan i det offentliga, driva angelägna utvecklingsprojekt och fördela medel ur cirka 150 donationsstiftelser.

    • Alkohol- och narkotikaproblem är vanligt förekommande i vårt samhälle. Både de personer som har ett beroende och deras anhöriga drabbas, vilket är viktigt att beakta när samhället erbjuder vård, stöd och behandling. Välja väg är en kliniskt orienterad bok med omfattande forskningsbas som beskriver ett bra utredningsförfarande och grunderna för en kvalitativt god behandling och relevanta stödinsatser, oavsett metod och verksamhetsform. I fördjupande kapitel tar författarna upp bland annat motivation, psykiatrisk samsjuklighet, ungdomar, vård utan samtycke och individanpassning. Boken vänder sig till personal inom verksamheter som arbetar med personer som har alkohol- och narkotikaproblem och med samsjuklighet, samt till studenter som utbildar sig till exempelvis socionomer, psykologer, sjuksköterskor och beteendevetare.

    • The aim of this study has been to identify, explain and delineate praying among peasant communities in late medieval Sweden. Four aspects have been examined through the perspectives of ideals and practices, namely the standards of prayer, devotional prayer, prayer in times of need and prayer cultures. The standards of prayer considered the physical and mental behaviour of the praying peasant woman or man. Devotional prayers were foremost the three ‘standard’ prayers Paternoster, Hail Mary and Apostolic Creed, and could be used separately or combined. Prayer in times of need was possibly considered a matter of praying to saints, something that cannot be proven to have been either practiced or recommended on other, ordinary occasions where God and the Virgin Mary were considered the proper recipients of prayer. A few authentic prayers exist where peasant women and men in connection with miracles constructed elaborate prayers and to propose business-like agreements with saints. Ways to maintain the prayer cultures were through mnemonic techniques, and indulgences stipulating and confirming prayers used or to be used in connection with certain churches, days and places within the churches. The prayer life of those belonging to peasant communities was both elaborate and full of nuances.

The traditions of the texts are complicated, not to say inextricable. However, it often appears a tendency of some kind, gene�rally to explain and facilitate the text. The discussions start from the com�paratively modern editions of the texts, usually published in the series Sources Chrétiennes.
