- Background: There is a lack of research on psychological treatments for psychosis in the inpatient setting. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for psychosis (ACTp) is a diagnose specific adaptation of the transdiagnostic ACT treatment model which has shown promising results in patients with psychosis. Aim: The aim was to explore treatment effects of ACTp on inpatients with psychosis on symptoms, level of functioning, level of activity, psychological flexibility, -health-related quality of life, valued living, and to explore the acceptability and feasibility of ACTp. Method: Twelve inpatients with psychosis were treated with 3-10 daily sessions of ACTp in a non-concurrent single case AB design with additional pre-post and mid-measures. The mean age at clinic A was 48.88 (SD = 11.59) and 48.75 (SD = 16.07) at clinic B. We calculated non - overlap of all pairs (NAP) in daily measures, and reliable change index (RCI), and clinical significance in pre-post measures. Results: Half of the participants improved significantly on health-related quality of life and depression in daily measures and on depression and anxiety in pre-post measures. ACTp was quite acceptable and recruitment and the deliverance of therapy in the inpatient setting was feasible. Conclusion: In the present study, participants found the ACTp treatment to be comprehensive and helpful. Recruitment and treatment of inpatients were feasible, however, since most participants were discharged before ACTp protocol was completed, fewer sessions or having sessions more frequently needs further investigation. Daily measurement showed a significant improvement in health-related quality of life and depression for a majority of the participants.

Functional CuO Microstructures for Glucose Sensing

- CuO microstructures are produced in the presence of water-soluble amino acids by hydrothermal method. The used amino acids include isoleucine, alpha alanine, and arginine as a soft template and are used for tuning the morphology of CuO nanostructures. The crystalline and morphological investigations were carried out by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy techniques. The XRD study has shown that CuO material obtained in the presence of different amino acids is of high purity and all have the same crystal phase. The CuO microstructures prepared in the presence of arginine were used for the development of sensitive and selective glucose biosensor. The linear range for the glucose detection are from 0.001 mM to 30 mM and limit of detection was found to be 0.0005 mM. The sensitivity was estimated around 77 mV/decade. The developed biosensor is highly selective, sensitive, stable and reproducible. The glucose biosensor was used for the determination of real human blood samples and the obtained results are satisfactory. The CuO material is functional therefore can be capitalized in wide range of applications such as lithium ion batteries, all oxide solar cells and supercapacitors.

- The subject of the book is the topology and future stability of models of the universe. In standard cosmology, the universe is assumed to be spatially homogeneous and isotropic. However, it is of interest to know whether perturbations of the corresponding initial data lead to similar solutions or not. This is the question of stability. It is also of interest to know what the limitations on the global topology imposed by observational constraints are. These are the topics addressed in the book. The theory underlying the discussion is the general theory of relativity. Moreover, in the book, matter is modelled using kinetic theory. As background material, the general theory of the Cauchy problem for the Einstein–Vlasov equations is therefore developed.

- Syftet med arbetet har varit att gå igenom ett 50-tal angränsande lövskogsområden runt sjön Sommen och söder om Åtvidaberg samt bedöma dessa från naturvårdssynpunkt. Som underlag för denna bedömning har noteringar gjorts av kryptogamer, främst epifyter och en del vedlevande svampar. I första hand har hotklassificerade arter och signalarter noterats. För de mest interssant områdena ges en del förslag på åtgärder för att bevara/utveckla naturvärdena.

- While several benefits of using models in software engineering have been observed in practice, the adoption of modeling remains low. Multiple challenges of using models, especially related to tools, have been reported both for industrial use and for education. However, there is a lack of systematic, empirical investigations of the challenges in modeling education and their relation to industrial challenges. Therefore, we conducted a multiple-case study with two cases, in the U.S and Sweden, focusing on students' perceptions towards tooling and UML in education. Our data collected from 369 student evaluation surveys, enriched with qualitative data, shows that the students' perception of modeling tools depends not only on the complexity of tools, but rather on multiple contextual factors, including tool characteristics, scope of course and project contents, nature of the required models, and the tools' role in generating executable artifacts. We conclude that there is a need for tailoring modeling tools for education beyond focusing on simplification and usability. Furthermore, due to the broad diversity within the modeling domain, there is a need for adapting the use of tools to the specific curriculum and course learning objectives.

- A compact high-power fiber-based femtosecond laser system is presented for coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering/second-harmonic generation (CARS/SHG) microscopy, and quantitatively compared with a conventional picosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO)-based system. While the broad spectral width of the femtosecond pulses results in 2.5 times lower image contrast and limited spectral selectivity, lipid stores, myosin, and collagen filaments in living cells can clearly be identified at 60 times lower excitation powers compared to the picosecond system. Visually the images contain the same information. Together with simple operation, small footprint, and low cost, the capabilities of this high-power all-fiber-based laser system promise a more general use of nonlinear microscopy within the biosciences. - This article is based on a case study of the school life of Fatou, a newly arrived adolescent student with limited experiences of formal schooling. Drawing on Goffman’s theories on impression and stigma management, the article explores the techniques employed by Fatou in order to pass as a “normal” student in the mainstream classroom. The results point to the significance of institutional frameworks in these efforts, and show how Fatou and her teachers collectively employ different impression management techniques in order to downplay the mis-match between Fatou’s prior knowledge and the academic demands of the classroom. As a result, it is argued that for Fatou, school becomes a place where, rather than learning subject content, she is “learning to pass”.
