  • Organising immigrants' integration - Practices and Consequences in Labour Markets and Societies
  • 2023
  • Book (other academic/artistic)abstract
    • This collection of field studies offers novel insights into the issues of migration and integration of immigrants. The focus of the chapters is on actions, processes, and complexity of organising practices, in contrast to more policy-oriented works. The contributors address vital questions: How is the labour market integration of refugees and other immigrants being organised in practice? What ideas of integration give rise to, and are promoted by contemporary integration initiatives? And what are the effects of these integration initiatives – on immigrants’ lives, and on their labour market integration in terms of diversity, gender, and power relations? With contributions highlighting the importance of coordination and collaboration for the successful organising of integration, this book should be of interest to researchers and advanced students from the fields of management and organisation studies, public administration and management, migration and integration studies, sociology, cultural studies and science and technology studies. It should also interest professionals and policymakers working with integration who face the challenges described here in their daily work.

  • In: Diedrich, Andreas & Czarniawska, Barbara (2023) (eds). Organising Immigrants' Integration - Practices and Consequences in Labour Markets and Societies. - Cham : Palgrave Macmillan. - 9783031268205
  • Book chapter (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • This collection assembles studies that draw on a variety of approaches to the timely subject of immigrants’ integration into labour markets and societies. Its aim is to make a contribution to migration and integration research in general and management and organisation studies in particular. The authors include both conceptual reasoning and their own fieldwork to address the issues related to the processes of organising integration in practice, and their consequences—for immigrants and for organisers. The contributors are both experienced and younger scholars from various fields of social sciences. In their texts, they play with well-known concepts and ideas, but also introduce new ideas and metaphors, connecting migration and integration phenomena to the trials and tribulations of contemporary organising. Many different voices are heard in the stories told—voices of refugees, immigrants, public officials, private entrepreneurs, managers, and volunteers. Yet they all focus on processes, not on structures; on organising rather than on organisations—because integration may take place within as well as outside formal organisations.

  • 2023
  • Book (other academic/artistic)abstract

  • Distrust: Not Only in Secret Service Organizations
  • 2020
  • In: Journal of Management Inquiry. - : SAGE Publications. - 1056-4926 .- 1552-6542. ; 29:3, s. 286-298
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • In this article, we discuss the issue of distrust in the most extreme example of distrustful organizations: secret service organizations. Distrust may be a basic organizing principle in such organizations, but how is it produced and maintained? Inspired by actor-network theory, we analyzed the devices, codes, rules, and procedures used in secret service organizations, and then asked whether these devices, codes, rules, and procedures differ from those used inordinaryorganizations. Based on our analysis, we make two contributions. First, we draw researchers' attention to distrust that is intentionally built and maintained rather than distrust that is accidental and indicative of faulty management. Second, we identify the material manifestations of distrust. We argue that in future studies of trust and distrust in organizations, it will be necessary to focus on the technologies, physical objects, and quasi-objects. These, together with discourses, guarantee the stability of connections among organizational actions.

  • Journal article (other academic/artistic)abstract
    • This text is a personal confession projected at the background and history of e-books. Like with any new technologies, their introduction evoked hopes and fears. As technical problems vanish, and new habits are forming, the readership of e-books grows.

  • Ute på fältet, inne vid skrivbordet
  • 2014
  • Book (other academic/artistic)abstract
Denna bok skall uppfylla just en sådan funktion.
