- Successful leaders are the precursors of success and the source of brilliant ideas in any business. This chapter shows that “good intentions” ahead of profits and indeed ahead of the “social realities are crucial and the manner an organization approaches corporate integrity and wisdom matters. A case study reflecting on Biblical Joseph’s analytic work that was rooted in stewardship, service, and divine endowments was utilized. It develops theoretical findings drawn from ancient wisdom and spiritual values and blended with contemporary strategic human resource management. Implications for research on leaderfollower personality congruence are considered for present and future managers who hope to practice from an integrative strategic perspective. © 2021 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.

- This chapter presents a state-of-the-art literature review of past research on service robots in the hospitality sector. Data collection took place between October 2021 and March 2022. The sample is made up of articles that have been published since 2017, which is the earliest research that is available. The dataset (Akiskali et al., 2022) included fifty-nine articles retrieved from the Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases. Analysis followed the micro-classification of the retrieved articles into three categories based on their focus of study: service robots' relationships with (1) customers, (2) employees, and (3) firms. Results and conclusions provide an overview of the existing literature and suggest directions for the future.

Co-movement of oil and stock prices in the GCC region : A wavelet analysis

- This paper examines the short term and long term dependencies between stock market returns and OPEC basket oil returns for the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) and two non-oil producing countries in the region (Egypt and Jordan), over the period 2002–2011. We utilize the wavelet coherency methodology in our empirical analyses. The empirical evidence indicates lack of market dependencies in the short term in these countries, indicating that oil and stock returns are not strongly linked in this interval. However, we show that oil returns and the stock markets returns co-move over the long term. The results also suggest that the long term dependencies are much stronger for OPEC oil returns and Jordan stock market returns relative to OPEC oil returns and Egypt stock market returns, implying a variation in the dependencies between oil prices and stock markets across countries. We further note an increasing strength in the market dependencies after 2007, signifying enhanced diversification benefit for investors in the short term relative to the long term.

- This special issue contributes to the literature on entrepreneurship in family firms by leveraging the family embeddedness perspective. In doing so, the papers of the special issue bridge entrepreneurship at firm level with analyses at the individual and the enterprising family levels. Starting from and extending such contributions, in this introductory article we offer a “multilevel” embeddedness perspective on entrepreneurship in family firms. We do so first by considering that, in family firms, each individual's cognition ultimately depends on whether they belong to the enterprising family, and whether and how they are active in the family business. Second, we advance that individual entrepreneurial orientation is a key cognitive factor resulting from the multilevel embeddedness and bridging it with entrepreneurship at firm level. We derive theoretical implications for entrepreneurship in family business and highlight avenues for future research.

- Bookkeeping and accounting is a prevalent feature of small organizations, which has changed face quite substantially with the advent of personal computers and, later, the Internet. The emergence of digitalized accounting procedures has taken place in a nexus of different types of actors (e.g., software developers, accountancy firms and the businesses themselves), regulatory frameworks (e.g., bookkeeping laws and accounting standards) and technical frameworks (e.g., standards for software interactions with banks and tax authorities). Altogether, this has made the paths taken in this process to be largely national. In general, this process of digitalization is largely undocumented and untheorized in research despite its profound impact on practice. Against this backdrop, this chapter has a descriptive and forward-looking approach, documenting the case of how Swedish bookkeeping practices of small organizations became digitalized, which can work as a reference case for comparisons with other national contexts.
