- Blockchain technologies offer new open source-based opportunities for developing new types of digital platforms and services. While research on the topic is emerging, it has this far been predominantly focused to technical and legal issues. To broaden our understanding of blockchain technology based services and platforms, we build on earlier literature on payments and payment platforms and propose a research agenda divided into three focal areas of 1) organizational issues; 2) issues related to the competitive environment; and 3) technology design issues. We discuss several salient themes within each of these areas, and derive a set of research question for each theme, highlighting the need to address both risks and opportunities for users, as well as different types of stakeholder organizations. With this research agenda, we contribute to the discussion on future avenues for Information Systems research on blockchain technology based platforms and services.

- This paper aims to explore the potential for blockchain design in the Nordic public sector context. Currently, little empirical blockchain research has been carried out in public organizations. In the study, we focus on one specific municipality-owned organization that provides lending services for associated municipalities. Our research question is How can blockchain support lending to municipal actors? Following the case study approach, we conducted thematic analyses of the empirical data collected from workshops and individual key-person interviews. Our analysis focused on the different design options and the impacts they will have for the architecture and governance of these systems. Results fall into six different categories: trust, transparency of documents, integrity, equal treatment, intermediation vs. disintermediation and openness of the process.

- A growth in the number of cyclists was observed over the past decades. At the same time, cyclists account for a large share of injured road users. Crash data analysis for safety priorities, design of safety systems and development of effectiveness assessment methods for cyclist safety should be based on relevant and representative datasets of real world crashes. This study presents descriptive statistics and cyclist injury risk estimations from Volvo Cars Cyclist Accident Database that provides up-to-date distributions of conflict situations, crash configurations as well as cyclist characteristics and driver information. The most dominant conflict situations with MAIS2+ injured cyclists were 'Straight Crossing Path' scenarios, 'Car Turning when Cyclist approaching from Opposite Direction' and 'Cyclist hit an opening car door when passing by' (dooring). The most common crash configurations were 'car front to cyclist side', 'cyclist front to car side', 'car front to cyclist front' and 'dooring' in that order. The body parts with the highest risk for serious injuries were the torso and the lower extremities followed by the head. When adding moderate injuries, the highest risk for injuries was found in the upper extremities. The results of the analysis aim at prioritize and develop active, integrated and passive safety countermeasures in car to cyclist crashes.

- Pedestrian safety priorities for passenger cars are usually based on data with varying car makes and models. This study presents a new database, V-PAD (Volvo Cars Pedestrian Accident Database), with a homogeneous car sample providing a relevant, up-to-date distribution of accident situations as well as pedestrian characteristics and driver information. A total of 330 pedestrian car accidents are analyzed with the aim to present a first summary of the V-PAD data in terms of accident, injury and impact aspects. The database with cars of the same types gives unique possibilities to design and evaluate effective safety measures for pedestrian safety. The results in this study will form the basis for further improvements, both considering driver support and crash compatibility.
