- Our times of crumbling structures and decaying social bonds are often depicted as apocalyptic. This book takes the apocalypse as a metaphor to help us in the search for meaning in our everyday realities. Yes, the apocalypse is when social structures and institutions fall apart and we are terrified and suffocated by the debris raining down upon us. But “apocalypse" also means “revelation”. The very collapse reveals what dissipating institutions were constructed upon: where there ought to have been foundational common values, most often there is violence and raw power. Yet the values are there, too, and they can be found. This book is a guide to these values, showing how they can be of help to organizers and organizational dreamers.

Through a collage of stories, snap-shots, vignettes, photos and other reflections of everydaylife, this collective contribution is catching a glimpse ofcorona-life and its micro-politics of multiple, often con-tradicting claims on practices as many of us live, work andcare at home. It embodies concerns, dreams, anger, hope,numbness, passion and much more emerging amongst aca-demics from across the world in response to the crisis. - Summary Rationality has since long been one of the central been issues in the discourse ofmanagement. Among the classics voices propagating a reductionist rationalism dominated andthere are still many contexts where such a view is taken for granted. On the other hand, criticssince the times of classics have been arguing for a less linear approach to management andmanagement thinking. However, little attention has been paid to some of the different dimensions of management rationality, such as imagination. This paper sets out to address this gap inknowledge through presenting a narrative study focused on a literary character well known for hisrationality, Sherlock Holmes, and revealing that this, to many, very epitome of rationality isactually an example of an extended type of rationality, including imagination. Following thefictional protagonist of our study, we consider some aspects of its relevance for management thought and practice
