- This paper investigates if IT security is as a part of value creation. The first part of the commentary focuses on the current theoretical conditions for IT security as a part of value creation. Different Return On Security Investment (ROSI) models are studied to investigate if they can calculate value creation with regard either to efficiency or to effectiveness. The second part of the paper investigates empirical evidence of a ROSI or any indication of a shareholder value perspective on IT security in three large, listed companies from different business segments. What they have in common is their first priority: value creation. The commentary begins by describing the "Productivity Paradox". It is followed by the most well-known ROSI models. Then, it explains the models applicability in value creation. Next, the three companies in the study are investigated. In the following section conclusions are drawn. Finally, the results of the research are discussed.

- This study is done within the framework of a project aimed at developing a wearable device (a bracelet) intended to support sensory motor rehabilitation of children with visual impairments. We present an exploratory study of aesthetic/hedonistic preferences for sounds and touch experiences among visually impaired children. The work is done in a participatory setting, and we have used mixed methods (questionnaires, workshop and field trial using a mobile location based app for story creation) in order to get a more complete initial picture of how enjoyable training devices should be designed for our target users.

- In this paper, a combination of methods from social science (interviews) and technical science (modelling) have been used to analyse the potential for cooperation in the present and future district heating system in Stockholm. The aim of the paper is to explore barriers and driving forces for energy cooperation in the Stockholm district heating system and to analyse the potential for combined heat and power generation in the system. In the study it was found that with better connectivity in existing systems, the annual system cost would decrease by approximately 10 million €, and with new CHP plants a similar potential exists. There is also a large potential for decreasing the local and global emissions of CO2 with CHP plants. The results from the interviews showed that the existing cooperation has a long history and is working well today. The advantages are higher supply security and economic benefits, while disadvantages are a need for more administration and control because of a more complex system. That the barriers to cooperation are seldom technical is another conclusion. With the combination of methods, we have gained a better understanding of the actual potential for the development of the system.

- District heating is an old and established energy system in Sweden, accounting for 9 % of the national energy balance. The systems have traditionally been built, planned and managed by the municipalities and over the years the district heating systems in Stockholm have grown into each other and later been interconnected. This have led to that there today are three large systems with eight energy companies and the system can be considered a regional system. The strategy to create a regional system has existed for a long time from regional planning authorities. However, since the municipalities have planning monopoly the regional planning is weak. The overall aim for this study is to analyse the planning and development of an important regional energy system, the district heating system in Stockholm, to understand how the municipal and regional planning have related to each other. The study is conducted through studying municipal and regional plans in Stockholm’s county between 1978 and 2010. The results show that district heating has been considered important all along and that a regional, or rather inter-municipal, perspective has existed throughout the period, although with large differences between different municipalities. Regional strategies for an interconnected system and combined heat and power plants have been realised gradually and district heating have throughout the period been considered important for different environmental reasons.

- Swedish district heating is an old and established heating system. The first municipality owned system was built in 1948 and since then there have been a relatively stable expansion of the system. In this paper I will use statistics and interviews to discuss from a Large Technical System-perspective whether district heating is heading towards a phase of stagnation. The aim of the paper is to analyse whether Swedish district heating is heading towards stagnation and discuss the strategies used by the energy companies to avoid stagnation. The focus is on a national level, although with interviews from the largest energy companies in Stockholm. The results show that internal and external factors influence that a stagnating trend is started and can be expected to continue. The external trends are more energy efficient buildings, competition, saturated markets and climate change. The internal are business strategies and pricing leading to a demand for Third Part Access. The strategies used to avoid a stagnation is changing markets by building combined heat- and power plants, trying to expand into new markets such as district cooling, using district heating in householdappliances, absorption cooling and using district heating in industrial processes.

- This paper presents a combination of Reference Attributed Grammars (RAGs) and Circular Attribute Grammars (CAGs). While RAGs allow the direct and easy specification of non-locally dependent information, CAGs allow iterative fixed-point computations to be expressed directly using recursive (circular) equations. We demonstrate how the combined formalism, Circular Reference Attributed Grammars (CRAGs), can take advantage of both these strengths, making it possible to express solutions to many problems in an easy way. We exemplify with the specification and computation of the nullable, first, and follow sets used in parser construction, a problem which is highly recursive and normally programmed by hand using an iterative algorithm. We also present a general demand-driven evaluation algorithm for CRAGs and some optimizations of it. The approach has been implemented and experimental results include computations on a series of grammars including Java 1.2. We also revisit some of the classical examples of CAGs and show how their solutions are facilitated by CRAGs.

- Collection attributes, as defined by Boyland, can be used as a mechanism for concisely specifying cross-reference-like properties such as callee sets, subclass sets, and sets of variable uses. We have implemented collection attributes in our declarative meta programming system JastAdd, and used them for a variety of applications including devirtualization analysis, metrics, and flow analysis. We propose a series of evaluation algorithms for collection attributes, and compare their performance and applicability. The key design criteria for our algorithms are 1) that they work well with demand evaluation, i.e., defined properties are computed only if they are actually needed for a particular source code analysis problem and a particular source program, and 2) that they work in the presence of circular (fixed-point) definitions that are common for many source code analysis problems, e.g., flow analysis. We show that the best algorithms work well on large practical problems, including the analysis of large Java programs.

- In this paper, the freeze-thaw stability of mayonnaise type oil-in-water emulsions is studied. The emphasis of the experiments have been on the properties of the dispersed oil phase as only small, or no effects, were observed from initial experiments on changing the properties of the aqueous phase within the investigated ranges. Different vegetable oils are investigated in order to relate the composition of the oil phase to the stability of the corresponding emulsion. The crystallization behaviour of the oils is studied with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and by freeze-thaw experiments in bulk systems. The amounts of triacylglycerides in the oils that theoretically crystallize at different temperatures are also calculated. Moreover, the impact of the freezing rate on the stability of emulsions is investigated. Large differences in freeze-thaw stability of emulsion prepared with different oils are observed. By principal component analysis (PCA) the stability of the emulsion could be correlated with the composition and crystallization behaviour of the oils. Small/no effects of the addition of different substances (for example polyglycerol esters and trehalose) to both oil and water phase are observed. Moreover, the experiments on the freezing conditions show that alteration of the freezing rate have a large impact on the freeze-thaw stability. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
