  • Innovative transport solutions — Unravelling challenges in public-private networks
  • 2022
  • Licentiatavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • New transport solutions and technologies are continuously developed and implemented aiming to reduce emissions, increase road safety, and improve mobility for both people and goods. Solutions with high potential for increased sustainability often depend on multi-actor interaction and public-private collaborations. However, even if the solutions or technologies are considered to have high potential to contribute to sustainable transport systems, they are rarely implemented on a large scale. This thesis aims to contribute to current understanding of challenges of implementing innovative transport solutions that depend on interactions between public and private actors. The thesis builds upon a qualitative research design based on three studies, a literature review and two empirical studies, exploring three different transport solutions, UCC, MaaS, and geofencing, in their network contexts. The studies focus on challenges of achieving the transport solutions’ expected sustainability objectives, network and role dynamics in developing and implementing the solutions, and the perceived value of and barriers to the solutions. The results of the studies identify three sets of challenges: (1) the challenge of reaching sustainability objectives for innovative transport solutions, (2) the challenge of understanding networks and actor roles in innovative transport solutions, and (3) the challenges with resource interaction and combination for innovative transport solutions. To achieve the desired sustainability effects, better coordination is required within and between organizations and between different developing areas. Understanding of actor roles in implementing new transport solutions needs to be further elaborated. New types of innovation processes could be relevant to achieving the expected sustainability objectives of new transport solutions more efficiently.

  • Eight Steps for Managing Green Innovation in the Automotive Industry
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: The European Financial Review. - 1757-5680. ; June, s. 3-6
  • Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • There are approximately 1 billion automobiles in the world. In 2012, world production went above 84 million vehicles. With the increasing global demand for cars, it is estimated that there will be 2 billion of them by 2020. In fact, with 10 billion people living on Planet Earth by 2050, we could have around 6 billion cars registered if developing countries follow the same patterns of mobility and car ownership as the USA and Europe. When Henry Ford’s assembly line was aimed at producing for mass market, his philosophical drivers included personal mobility and freedom. For 100 years, cars could deliver this – and they still do in many of the World’s newly industrialised nations. However, nowadays cars are no longer synonymous with personal mobility and freedom. For people living in megacities (think of São Paulo, Tokyo, and Jakarta) the use of automobiles is not only reducing personal mobility and freedom but is also a reason for poor urban air quality, fatal accidents and increasing concerns about end-of-life waste and landfill availability. The question of “greening” the automotive industry no longer has a “yes or no” answer. The debate has moved on from “why” to “how” and “by when”, such that the greening innovations support other business conditions including profitability, customer satisfaction, product safety, and reliability.

  • Karbonatisering - En förbisedd koldioxidsänka
  • 2022

  • Leading for Entrepreneurship
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Management for Professionals. - Cham : Springer International Publishing. - 2192-810X .- 2192-8096. ; Part F581, s. 105-120
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Leading an entrepreneurial firm is quite different from managing a conventional company. This chapter explains key considerations for guiding, supporting, and inspiring teams of entrepreneurial people to produce ongoing innovation. An essential requirement is to provide direction and feedback without micromanaging or telling employees how they should solve problems. The roles of three types of leaders are discussed: top leadership, founder entrepreneurs, and mid-level leaders (formerly called “middle management”). Further, the chapter examines many ingredients of leadership, from communication and incentives to new approaches for bottom-up creativity and decision-making.

  • Quality management : an introduction
  • 2020. - 1
  • Bok (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Quality Management. An Introduction is a multi-purpose book designed for both university students and practitioners. In the book, the authors elaborate on the fundamental principles of quality management by connecting it to relevant practices and methods. Why is this book important? Change and improvements, productivity, and focus on customers and other stakeholders are at the top of management agendas. Quality management is about managing change and improvements as well as reaching goals, whatever they may be, as efficiently as possible, and making effective efforts to do so. Scientific methods are the bases for quality management. Furthermore, quality management is a discipline that goes beyond science into the realms of philosophy. It assumes that the changes you seek are improvements, encouraging the idea that the best route is one that leads to improvements not only for yourself but also for other stakeholders. The book focuses on three fundamental themes in quality management: Customer and stakeholder focus, Models and methods for continuous improvements, and Teamwork and organisational aspects of quality management. The book is designed to be supplemented and supported by other in-depth practitioner texts and research articles in various courses in quality management.

  • Drivers of audit client satisfaction in the external audit fieldwork
  • 2018
  • Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Purpose The purpose of this paper is to understand factors in the external audit fieldwork that contributes to audit client satisfaction. Methodology The purpose is addressed by a single case study and based upon data collected by a questionnaire, and analysed using Bayesian networks. Findings This study concludes that there are several factors which affects audit client satisfaction in the field work activity, for example different contextual factors  such  as  role, previous  experience  and  country  origin, but  also  process related factors such as feelings  of the auditee after  the  opening  meeting. Research Limitations This paper is based on a study of one company and their interaction with one of their certification bodies for external auditing, hence the generalizability of the findings is limited by the case study method. Moreover, the management system studied is restricted to the ISO 9001 Management System Standards. Originality/value Previous research has examined what quality attributes that are associated with audit client satisfaction and concluded that one of those are the audit fieldwork. This paper adds to this body of knowledge by empirically examine what factors within the fieldwork that contributes to audit client satisfaction, but also by adding the concept of co-creation of value to the audit process. By understanding these means, it is possible to better maximise the value add of external audits, either being a provider of audit services or a buyer of audit services.
