  • Darriwili (Keskordoviitsiumi) δ13Corg kemostratigraafia koos graptoliitide biostratigraafiaga klassikalisel röstånga alal skåne maakonna loodeosas lõunarootsis
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Estonian Journal of Earth Sciences. - : Estonian Academy Publishers. - 1736-4728. ; 69:3, s. 121-133
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The largely covered Middle Ordovician succession in the classic geological Röstånga area in northwestern Scania has not been studied for some 80 years. A new drill core through a succession ranging from the lower–middle Darriwilian to the lower Sandbian has provided a unique opportunity to investigate the graptolite biostratigraphy and the δ13Corg chemostratigraphy, and clarify their stratigraphic relations, through this ~90 m thick interval, which is developed within a black shale facies. The lithology, biostratigraphy and chemostratigraphy are closely similar to those of the coeval strata in the Fågelsång area, southcentral Scania, including the presence of the Fågelsång Phosphorite, which was previously unrecorded in the Röstånga area. The new data are particularly important in providing evidence of the relations between graptolite biostratigraphy and δ13Corg chemostratigraphy. The Fågelsång3 and Röstånga2 drill core successions are currently the only Darriwilian sequences in the world where these relations have been well established.

  • Architectural traits constrain the evolution of unisexual flowers and sexual segregation within inflorescences: an interspecific approach.
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: PCI Evolutionary Biology. - : Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Male and female unisexual flowers have repeatedly evolved from the ancestral bisexual flowers in different lineages of flowering plants. This sex specialization in different flowers often occurs within inflorescences. We hypothesize that inflorescence architecture may impose a constraint on resource availability for late flowers, potentially leading to different optima in floral sex allocation and unisexuality. Under this hypothesis we expect that inflorescence traits increasing the difference in resource availability between early and late flowers would be phylogenetically correlated with a higher level of sexual specialization. To test this hypothesis, we performed a comparative analysis of inflorescence traits (inflorescence size, number of flowers and flower density) in the sunflower family, which displays an extraordinary variation in floral sexual specialization at the inflorescence level, i.e. hermaphroditic, gynomonoecious and monoecious species. We found that species with a complete sex separation in unisexual flowers (monoecy) had significantly denser inflorescences. Furthermore, those species arranging their flowers in denser inflorescences also showed greater differences in the size of early and late fruits, a proxy of resource variation between flowers. Our findings support the idea that floral sexual specialization and consequently sexual segregation may be the consequence of different floral sex allocation optima driven by the sequential development of flowers that results in a persistent resource decline from earlier to later flowers.

  • Kuidas ära tunda adjektiivi? : Korpuskäitumise mustrite analüüs
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Eesti rakenduslingvistika uhingu aastaraamat. - : Estonian Association for Applied Linguistics. - 1736-2563 .- 2228-0677. ; 18, s. 279-302
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Artiklis uurime adjektiivi morfosüntaktilisi tunnuseid jaselgitame, kuivõrd on prototüüpsele adjektiivile omistatavad tunnused(nt ühildumine, võrrete moodustamine) adjektiiviklassile eriomased.Loome neile tunnustele tuginedes parameetrid, mille abil eristamekorpuse andmete põhjal adjektiive teistest sõnaliikidest. Tüüpiliseadjektiivi korpusprofiili tuvastamise kaugem eesmärk on rakenduseloomine, mis võimaldaks leksikograafidel ebaselgete juhtumite puhulkontrollida sõna adjektiviseerumise astet. Tutvustame kuue parameetritestimise tulemust 12 sõnarühma peal, millest igaühte kuulub 10 sõna.Sõnavalikul arvestame adjektiiviklassi piiripealseid juhtumeid ja leksikograafilisi kitsaskohti. Analüüsime, mil määral hälbivad erinevadtestrühmad testitud parameetrite põhjal prototüüpsest adjektiiviklassi esindajast ning vaatleme ka variatsiooni adjektiiviklassi sees.Kõrvale kaldeanalüüs võimaldab välja selgitada parima eristusvõimegaparameetrid. Eukleidilise kauguse mõõtmine eristab hästi adjektiivisarnased sõnad ja rühmad nendest, mis sarnanevad prototüüpseleadjektiivile vähem.

  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Eesti rakenduslingvistika uhingu aastaraamat. - : Estonian Association for Applied Linguistics. - 1736-2563 .- 2228-0677. ; 17, s. 285-307
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study is motivated by the need for a statistical benchmark that would help the lexicographer to judge a morphological form for its grammaticalization stage to the degree of an independent lexeme. The focus of this article is on Estonian substantives and in particular their forms in the 11 semantic cases. The main research question of this study is: is there a statistical sign indicating that a case form of a noun is emerging as a potentially independent lexeme? Based on the normal distribution of nominal case form frequencies, we established a statistic that determines a case form’s elicitation in a corpus – the distribution index (D-index). The D-index can be used as an indicator of the correspondence of a particular form’s actual frequency with the predicted elicitation degree.
