  • A content analysis of environmentally sustainable logistics - A complexity outlook
  • 2010
  • In: Ptoceedings of the 22nd Annual NOFOMA Conference : Logistics and Supply Chain Management in a Globalised Economy - Logistics and Supply Chain Management in a Globalised Economy.
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Purpose of this paper The purpose of this article is to explore themes and challenges in making logistics environmentally sustainable with a complexity theoretical perspective. Design/methodology/approach The research is explorative and based on a cross-sectional design focusing on different entities of supply chains. The study set out with a systematic review and content analysis of articles in top-ranking related journals from logistics, transportation, sustainability and environmental areas. Findings The findings show that there is a great gap between the sustainable logistics challenges, and the models and frameworks for approaching and handle these. While the vast majority of models and solutions are based on reductionistic principles and simplified views on reality, the results indicate that obstacles in developing logistics in an environmental-friendly way are both complicated and complex as it involves paradoxes, contradictions and system-wide effects. Research limitations/implications (if applicable) Sustainability in this article is mainly related to environmental issues. Analysis of complex interactions between complex environmental pillar with complex social and economic pillars could provide opportunities for future research. Practical implications (if applicable) The offered results in this paper provides a systematic structure for classifying issues related to logistics sustainability, something that will be beneficial for managers and policy-makers when approaching sustainable logistics challenges. What is original/value of paper Identification, classification and analysis of current problems and challenges of environmental sustainability of logistics are new. This paper also presents a thorough summary of previous approaches and studies of sustainable logistics.

  • Transcriptional profiling demonstrates altered characteristics of CD8 + cytotoxic T-cells and regulatory T-cells in TP53-mutated acute myeloid leukemia
  • 2022
  • In: Cancer Medicine. - : Wiley. - 2045-7634. ; 11:15, s. 3023-3032
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients have limited effect from T-cell-based therapies, such as PD-1 and CTLA-4 blockade. However, recent data indicate that AML patients with TP53 mutation have higher immune infiltration and other immunomodulatory therapies could thus potentially be effective. Here, we performed the transcriptional analysis of distinct T-cell subpopulations from TP53-mutated AML to identify gene expression signatures suggestive of altered functional properties. Methods: CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), conventional helper T cells (Th), and regulatory T cells (Tregs) were sorted from peripheral blood of AML patients with TP53 mutation (n = 5) and healthy donors (n = 3), using FACS, and the different subpopulations were subsequently subjected to RNA-sequencing. Differentially expressed genes were identified and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was performed to outline altered pathways and exhaustion status. Also, expression levels for a set of genes encoding established and emerging immuno-oncological targets were defined. Results: The results showed altered transcriptional profiles for each of the T-cell subpopulations from TP53-mutated AML as compared to control subjects. IFN-α and IFN-γ signaling were stronger in TP53-mutated AML for both CTLs and Tregs. Furthermore, in TP53-mutated AML as compared to healthy controls, Tregs showed gene expression signatures suggestive of metabolic adaptation to their environment, whereas CTLs exhibited features of exhaustion/dysfunction with a stronger expression of TIM3 as well as enrichment of a gene set related to exhaustion. Conclusions: The results provide insights on mechanisms underlying the inadequate immune response to leukemic cells in TP53-mutated AML and open up for further exploration toward novel treatment regimens for these patients.

  • En Delfistudie om lärares uppfattning av elevengagemang i NO-undervisningen
  • 2019
  • In: NorDiNa. - Oslo : Naturfagsenteret / Norwegian Centre for Science Education. - 1504-4556 .- 1894-1257. ; 15:2, s. 128-144
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • What happens in a science classroom where students are engaged and how do teachers observe and interpret student engagement? This article highlights teachers’ perspective on students’ engagement in science education and to what extent it is connected to the scientific content. This approach complements earlier research which focuses mostly on students’ attitude towards science education and their interest in various topics in science. The findings are based on a three-stage Delphi survey distributed to 39 expert science teachers. The results shows science education with a range of different perspectives and that most teachers do not perceive any direct connection between specific science topics and the students’ engagement. The survey also shows that teachers to a high level interpret students’ emotional expressions and academic behavior as engagement rather than their cognitive behavior.

  • The Semiotics of Malcolm X from Harlem to Tahrir
  • 2020
  • In: Svensk Teologisk Kvartalskrift. - 0039-6761. ; 96:1, s. 47-61
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • With no ambition to provide a complete inventory, this article introducesthe reader to the ways in which Malcolm X and his legacy have been usedwithin US hip-hop music. The central argument is that US hip-hop artists, since the birth of hip-hop, have been participating in the processes ofreinventing Malcolm X and his legacy by not only casting him as a symbolof local African American resistance against racial inequalities, but alsoby fashioning him as a global Sunni Muslim revolutionary by creativelyname-, image-, or sound-dropping him in different sound and visual settings.More extensive usages mainly involve key quotes of Malcolm X orlengthy sound bites of classic speeches. The usage of certain iconic photosis comparable to key quotes as these are clearly meant to trigger establishedassociations. It is important to stress that the legacy of MalcolmX and his political theology within hip-hop culture goes beyond nationalborders, religious beliefs, and political goals.
