    • The introduction of more facile and atom efficient methods for the synthesis of organic linear and cyclic compounds is the aim of various researchers worldwide. N-sulfonyl ketenimine is an interesting intermediate in modern organic synthesis. N-sulfonyl ketenimine is capable of selective production of various heteroatom containing compounds, based on the functional groups in the structure of this intermediate. Several linear and cyclic compounds are synthesized from this intermediate. In this review, the role of N-sulfonyl ketenimine is studied as an intermediate in several organic syntheses.

  • Finding solvent for polyamide 11 using a computer software

    • The solvent finding step has always been a time-consuming job in chemical-involved processes. The source of difficulty mainly comes from the trial-and-errors, as a repetitive process of chosing solvents and mixing them in different proportions. Computers are good at doing repetitive processes; however, they can only deal with numerical values, rather than qulitative scales. Numerification of qualitative parameters (like solubility) has already been introduced. The most recent one is the Hansen solubility parameters (HSPs). Using the HSPs could provide a solvent or solvent-mixture. In our previous study, we introduced a computer-aided model and a software to find a solvent mixture. In this study, we have used the computer-aided solvent selection model to find some solvent mixtures for polyamide 11, a biobased polymer which has attracted enormous attention recently. Using this numerical model significantly diminished the time of solvent development experimentation by decreasing the possible/necessary trials.

    • We designed novel 4 '-C-guanidinocarbohydrazidomethyl-5-methyl uridine (GMU) modified small interfering RNA (siRNA) and evaluated its biophysical and biochemical properties. Incorporation of GMU units significantly increased the thermodynamic stability as well as the enzymatic stability against nucleases in human serum. A gene silencing experiment indicated that GMU modfied siRNA (siRNA6) resulted in approximate to 4.9-fold more efficient knockdown than unmodified siRNA.

    • Sulfonic acid-functionalized poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid) mesoporous graphene oxide hybrid (PSSA-MGO) is prepared by polymerization of 4-styrenesulfonic acid on the surface of mesoporous graphene oxide. The catalyst is fully characterized by several methods including Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller adsorption-desorption analysis, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. PSSA-MGO is used as an efficient acidic catalyst for the one-pot preparation of some novel chromenopyridopyrimidine-dione derivatives via the three-component reaction of 4-aminocoumarin, thiobarbituric acid and aromatic aldehydes. All the obtained products were also characterized. This synthetic procedure presents some advantages including an eco-friendly procedure, high yield of the products and recyclability of the catalyst.
