  • Rural Highway Design Analysis Through Traffic Micro-Simulation
  • 2006
  • In: Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service. - Tokyo : JSTE. - 4905990610 ; , s. 249-258
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • In Sweden, rural roads with separated oncoming lanes are becomingincreasingly important due to their superior safety properties. The level-of-service of such roads may however be reduced since traffic is restricted by the barrier between the oncoming lanes. This level-of-service impact can be evaluated through traffic microsimulation.Such simulation based assessments of rural highways require simulation models capable of modeling rural road traffic. This paper presents a simulation study of different rural road designs with separated oncoming lanes using a rural road traffic simulationmodel. The presentation illustrates the use of simulationfor rural highways and the result of the study indicates that oncominglane separation is a competitive alternative despite slightlevel-of-service reductions compared to undivided two-lane highways.

  • The Coaching Behavior Scale for Sport (CBS-S) : A psychometric evaluation of the Swedish version.
  • 2016
  • In: Scandinavian Journal of Medicine and Science in Sports. - : Wiley. - 0905-7188 .- 1600-0838. ; 26:1, s. 116-123
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The present study validated a Swedish version of the 47-item Coaching Behavior Scale for Sport (CBS-S). Sample 1 consisted of 506 team sport athletes [262 men and 244 women; mean age: 22.20, standard deviation (SD) = 3.90] distributed across 41 coaches at the two highest national levels of various sports. Athletes completed the CBS-S and established questionnaires of coaching behaviors (LSS), self-confidence (CSAI-2R), and coach-athlete relationship (CART-Q). An additional sample of 39 basketball players (21 men and 18 women; mean age = 17.40, SD = 2.39) completed the CBS-S twice, approximately 4 weeks apart. Confirmatory factor analysis showed an acceptable model fit for the seven-factor version of the CBS-S, although two items of the negative personal rapport subscale displayed insufficient factor loadings. Correlations between the subscales of the CBS-S and established instruments were in accordance with theoretical expectations, supporting the concurrent validity. Cronbach's alpha (> 0.82) for all dimensions provided support for the reliability of the CBS-S, and test-retest correlations indicated moderate stability over time. Cultural differences in the assessment of coaching behaviors and the usability of the CBS-S by coaches for self-reflection and development are discussed.

  • Influence of Cooling Rate after High Temperature Annealing on Deep Levels in High-Purity Semi-Insulating 4H-SiC
  • 2007
  • In: Materials Science Forum, vol. 556-557. - : Trans Tech Publications. ; , s. 371-
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The influence of different cooling rates on deep levels in 4H-SiC after high temperature annealing has been investigated. The samples were heated from room temperature to 2300°C, followed by a 20 minutes anneal at this temperature. Different subsequent cooling sequences down to 1100°C were used. The samples have been investigated using photoluminescence (PL) and IV characteristics. The PL intensities of the silicon vacancy (VSi) and UD-2, were found to increase with a faster cooling rate.

  • Contact-Less Electrical Defect Characterization of Semi-Insulating 6H-SiC Bulk Material
  • 2009
  • In: Materials Science Forum Vols. 600-603. - : Trans Tech Publications. ; , s. 405-408
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The novel technique microwave detected photo induced current transient spectroscopy (MD-PICTS) was applied to semi-insulating 6H-SiC in order to investigate the properties of inherent defect levels. Defect spectra can be obtained in the similar way to conventional PICTS and DLTS. However, there is no need for contacting the samples, which allows for non-destructive and spatially resolved electrical characterization. This work is focused on the investigation of semi-insulating 6H-SiC grown under different C/Si-ratios. In the corresponding MD-PICTS spectra several shallow defect levels appear in the low temperature range. However the peak assignment needs further investigation. Additionally different trap reemission dynamics are obtained for higher temperatures, which are supposed to be due to different compensation effects.

  • The Silicon vacancy in SiC
  • 2009
  • Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
    •  A model is presented for the silicon vacancy in SiC. The previously reported photoluminescence spectra in 4H and 6H SiC attributed to the silicon vacancy are in this model due to internal transitions in the negative charge state of the silicon vacancy. The magnetic resonance signals observed are due to the initial and final states of these transitions.

  • Impact of Vanadium Loading and Thermal Aging on the Surface Properties of Titania-Supported Vanadium Oxide
  • 2024
  • In: Journal of Physical Chemistry C. - 1932-7447 .- 1932-7455. ; 128:7, s. 2894-2908
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • A series of VOx/TiO2 model catalysts with 0.5, 1.5, 2.0, 4.0, and 8 wt % V was prepared by incipient wetness impregnation (fresh) and then thermally treated at 580 °C for 100 h in static air (aged). Each catalyst was characterized with nitrogen physisorption, ammonia temperature-programmed desorption, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy upon adsorption of NH3 and NO. The fresh catalyst with 0.5 wt % V hosts monomeric VOx as the majority species. The fresh catalyst with 1.5 wt % V contains both mono- and polymeric VOx, whereof the latter becomes the majority species after aging. Polymeric VOx is the main species in the fresh 2 wt % V catalyst; however, upon aging, V2O5 is detected. The fresh 4 wt % V catalyst contains polymeric VOx and V2O5 species, whereas the fresh 8 wt % V catalyst has mostly crystalline V2O5. Upon aging, both of these catalysts show crystalline V2O5 as the majority species. Further, all catalysts expose V4+. Adsorption of NH3 reveals terminal and bridged hydroxyl groups as well as monomeric and polymeric Brønsted sites, which shift with increasing vanadium loading and aging to more bridged hydroxyls and polymeric Brønsted sites. As for the NO adsorption, the relative abundance of surface nitrates and NO2 changes with the increased vanadium favoring bridge-bound nitrates on crystalline V2O5. Vanadia appears to promote the morphological changes and phase transitions of titania. The NOx conversion during standard SCR conditions was measured in a chemical flow reactor, showing that high V loadings are beneficial for the low-temperature NOx conversion at the expense of low selectivity at higher temperatures and low efficiency after aging. On the contrary, catalysts with lower V loadings reveal an improved NOx conversion after aging. Normalization by V loading, V surface density, specific surface area, and ammonia uptake suggests polymeric VOx to be the most active species and that SSA and ammonia uptake are less important design parameters for stationary conditions.
