  • Personametodik som metod i förändringsarbete
  • 2010

  • Role of illness in male professional football: not a major contributor to time loss
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: British Journal of Sports Medicine. - : BMJ PUBLISHING GROUP. - 0306-3674 .- 1473-0480. ; 50:11, s. 699-702
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background There are limited data on the nature, type and incidence of illness in football. Previous studies indicate that gastrointestinal and respiratory tract illnesses are most common. Aim To describe the incidence and burden of illness in male professional football. Methods Over the 4-year study period, 2011-2014, 73 professional football teams in Europe participated, with a total of 1 261 367 player-days recorded. All time-loss illnesses were recorded by the medical staff of each club. A recordable illness episode was any physical or psychological symptom (not related to injury) that resulted in the player being unable to participate fully in training or match play. Results A total of 1914 illness episodes were recorded. The illness incidence was 1.5 per 1000 player-days, meaning that, on average, a player experienced an illness episode every second season, with a median of 3 days absence per illness episode. Severe illness (absence amp;gt;4 weeks) constituted 2% of all illnesses. Respiratory tract illness was the most common (58%), followed by gastrointestinal illness (38%). Respiratory tract illness, gastrointestinal illness and cardiovascular illness caused the highest illness burden. Conclusions The illness incidence among male professional football players is low compared with the injury incidence. We found that the highest illness burden was caused by illness to the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system.

  • Robust Blind Second-Order Deconvolution
  • 1999
  • Ingår i: IEEE Signal Processing Letters. - : IEEE Signal Processing Society. - 1070-9908 .- 1558-2361. ; 6:1, s. 13-16
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Second-order blind deconvolution of single input multiple output (SIMO) finite impulse response (FIR) channels is considered. A major drawback of several blind diversity techniques using antenna arrays/temporal-oversampling is high sensitivity to the choice of the model order. In this contribution, a robust method using only the second-order statistics is described. It provides high and robust estimation accuracy even for a limited sample size and an unknown model order. In contrast to other suggested approaches, that often exploit properties valid only in the large sample case, the proposed method is applicable both in the large sample and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) scenario.

  • Some Results on Blind Deconvolution Applied to Digital Communication Signals
  • 1997
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of DSP 97. ; , s. 107-110
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Blind deconvolution techniques applied to spatially and/or temporally oversampled signals have recentlyattracted much interest in the research community. This contribution contains an analysis of experimental data collected from an antenna array in a suburban environment. The Noise Subspace (NS) technique of [1] and the Linear Prediction(LP) method of [2, 4] are examined. The real data examples presented demonstrate a case where joint spatial and temporal deconvolution has clear benefits as compared to decoupled processing.

  • Finans och Existens : Tolkning av vardagslivets finansialisering
  • 2018
  • Doktorsavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The aim of this book is to inquire into the relationship between human beings and financial markets. In this inquiry the author wishes to emphasize two aspects. Firstly, the act of creation of scientific knowledge, and secondly, the ubiquitous relationship that seems to interweave our everyday lives with financial markets. These two aspects highlight the main conversations to which this book wants to contribute. These are interpretative and hermeneutic research within social science in general and business administration in particular, as well as the growing literature on financialization. The more precise problem discussed concerns the insecurity and uncertainty that seem to surround our relationship with financial markets, or, as put in the literature: “the uncertain subjects of financialization”. Inspired by the ethnographic tradition, the author observed a gathering of thousands of people under the topic of making money from money in a spectacular building. The experience of this event worked as a catalyst for an interpretation of not only the specific meeting but also of our relationship to financial markets more generally. With the help of an elaborated analogy, it is suggested that we live (within) a spirit of finance capitalism, a spirit that has an ever-increasing presence in our lives. The author argues that our relationship to financial markets – and the financialization of daily life – is an existential dilemma as much as a financial one. Differently put, we can read the widespread uncertainty surrounding financial markets as doubt about the existence that we – more or less, for better or worse – appear unable to escape in a capitalistic society where finance is omnipresent. The interpretation contributes to the literature on financialization in two distinct ways. First, it integrates several themes recognized in the literature – such as opportunity, power, education and community – under one umbrella. Second, it accomplishes this by drawing on the tradition of sociology of religion and thereby highlighting the existential aspect of finance as an essential part of the human condition in a capitalist society.

  • Radio resource management in roaming based multi-operator WCDMA networks
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: VTC2004-SPRING. - NEW YORK : IEEE. ; , s. 2062-2066
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Infrastructure sharing and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) are becoming more and more common in todays mobile networks. In both cases the subscribers of multiple operators connect to the same radio access network via, e.g., roaming based methods. Depending on how much each operator pays, they should then be guaranteed a certain capacity in the shared network. This paper discusses different solutions for how the radio resources in such a roaming based multi-operator WCDMA network may be allocated to the sharing operators. One particular method based on Radio Resource Management (RRM) with non-preemptive priority queuing in the admission control is presented in detail. The method seems to provide an attractive tradeoff between fairness and total system capacity.

  • NanoMap: Geographical mapping of atmospheric new-particle formation through analysis of particle number size distribution and trajectory data
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Boreal Environment Research: An International Interdisciplinary Journal. - 1239-6095. ; 19, s. 329-342
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Particle number size distributions at various field sites are used to identify atmospheric new-particle formation (NPF) event days. However, the spatial distribution of regionally extensive events is unknown. To remedy this situation, the NanoMap method has been developed to enable the estimation of where NPF occurs within 500 km from any field station using as input size distribution and meteorological trajectories only. Also, the horizontal extension of NPF can be determined. An open-source program to run NanoMap is available on the internet. NanoMap has been developed using as an example the Finnish field site at Hyytiala. It shows that there are frequent NPF events over the Baltic Sea, but not as frequent as over Finland for certain wind directions; hence NanoMap is able to pinpoint areas with a low or high occurrence of NPF events. The method should be applicable to almost any field site.
