Klingande musikalisk verksamhet är också en del av en tradition för Uppsala universitet och har så varit under dess drygt 500-åriga tillvaro. Kyrka och universitet har följts åt i samarbete och samverkan där musiken ofta varit en gemensam nämnare. Boken innehåller en längre historik samt kortare bidrag från personer som varit och är engagerade i Uppsala domkyrkas gosskörs verksamhet.

  • Early identification and characterisation of stroke to support prehospital decision-making using artificial intelligence : A scoping review protocol

    • Introduction Stroke is a time-critical condition and one of the leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide. To decrease mortality and improve patient outcome by improving access to optimal treatment, there is an emerging need to improve the accuracy of the methods used to identify and characterise stroke in prehospital settings and emergency departments (EDs). This might be accomplished by developing computerised decision support systems (CDSSs) that are based on artificial intelligence (AI) and potential new data sources such as vital signs, biomarkers and image and video analysis. This scoping review aims to summarise literature on existing methods for early characterisation of stroke by using AI. Methods and analysis The review will be performed with respect to the Arksey and O'Malley's model. Peer-reviewed articles about AI-based CDSSs for the characterisation of stroke or new potential data sources for stroke CDSSs, published between January 1995 and April 2023 and written in English, will be included. Studies reporting methods that depend on mobile CT scanning or with no focus on prehospital or ED care will be excluded. Screening will be done in two steps: title and abstract screening followed by full-text screening. Two reviewers will perform the screening process independently, and a third reviewer will be involved in case of disagreement. Final decision will be made based on majority vote. Results will be reported using a descriptive summary and thematic analysis. Ethics and dissemination The methodology used in the protocol is based on information publicly available and does not need ethical approval. The results from the review will be submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The findings will be shared at relevant national and international conferences and meetings in the field of digital health and neurology. © 2023 BMJ Publishing Group. All rights reserved.

    • Stroke is a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide. Therefore, there is a growing interest in prehospital point-of-care stroke clinical decision support systems (CDSSs), which with improved precision can identify stroke and decrease the time to optimal treatment, thereby improving clinical outcomes. Artificial intelligence (AI) may be a route to improve CDSSs for clinical benefit. Deploying AI in the area of prehospital stroke care is still in its infancy. There are several existing systematic and scoping reviews summarizing the progress of AI methods for stroke assessment. None of these reviews include grey literature, which could be a valuable source of information, especially when analysing future research and development directions. This paper aims to use grey literature to investigate stroke assessment CDSSs based on AI. The study adheres to PRISMA guidelines and presents seven records showcasing promising technologies. These records included three clinical trials, two smartphone applications, one master thesis and one PhD dissertation, which identify electroencephalogram (EEG), video analysis and voice and facial recognition as potential data sources for early stroke identification. The integration of these technologies may offer the prospect of faster and more accurate CDSSs in the future.

    • Med utställningen Människan i skogen, skogen i människan vill projektet belysa ett antal aktuella och viktiga frågor för vår region och samtid, samlade under ett tema: skog och hållbar utveckling. I utställningen får besökaren möta kunskap och perspektiv från fem forskare och forskargrupper vid Mittuniversitetet. Forskarna är verksamma inom biologi, ekoteknik, historia, litteraturvetenskap respektive turismvetenskap. Forskningens olika perspektiv länkas i utställningen samman genom sina förhållningssätt till tid, såsom avgörande för förståelse, kunskap och handling. De olika forskningsinriktningarna visar också fram spänningar mellan olika synsätt på skog och kan tillsammans ge flera svar och berättelser om skogens värden. En arbetsgrupp vid Universitetsbiblioteket står för gestaltning och produktion av utställningen.

  • How technological and social imperatives influence the implementation of a so-called knowledge management system in a learning support services organization

    • The aim of this paper is to present and discuss some of the underlying imperatives when establishing a new knowledge management system within the university library, profiled as a learning support services organization within Mid Sweden University. The concept of Knowledge management, as seen from a specific library perspective, has been broadly defined as the use of organizational knowledge through sound practices of information management and organizational learning (Broadbent, 1998). The different perspectives or discourses on knowledge management mainly puts its emphasis either on technology (and questions concerning technological aspects of knowledge management) or on social aspects such as the user’s reception or understanding of knowledge management systems in different settings. However, as Gold, Malhotra & Segars (2001) has noted, many so-called knowledge management projects are – in reality – information projects. When these projects yield some consolidation of data, but little innovation in products and services, the concept of knowledge management can be cast in doubt (ibid). During the spring and autumn of 2017 a project called “Infrastrukturen UB” (“Infrastructure University Library”) was carried out, implementing what could be considered a knowledge management system within a newly restructured library organization consisting of four different departments, and physical libraries at different campus locations. Drawing from the result of the project and the experiences of the project’s team members, it can be shown how this project was influenced by technological and social imperatives within the organization at large during different phases of the project. In addition, it can be argued that further steps of development are needed for the established system to fully be considered a “true” knowledge management system.

  • Reviewing Challenges in Specifying Interoperability Requirement in Procurement of Health Information Systems

    • Procurement of health information systems (HIS) is a complex and critical task that requires early identification of interoperability requirements. However, specifying adequate requirements is often associated with several challenges. We examined relevant peer-reviewed literature and public documents (policy documents, annual reports, and newspapers) to summarize existing challenges in specifying interoperability requirement during procurement of HISs. In this study, 32 public documents and 2343 peer-reviewed articles were found using Google search engine, Springer, PubMed and ScienceDirect. Collected data were analyzed using a thematic coding schema. Our result shows that challenges related to describing the needs properly, conflicting needs and knowledge gaps are shared between most articles. Further research in the direction of developing a model that can bridge knowledge gaps, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, and help to avoid fuzzy requirements is needed.

  • Technologies for Interoperable Internet of Medical Things Platforms to Manage Medical Emergencies in Home and Prehospital Care : Protocol for a Scoping Review

    • Background: Population growth and aging have highlighted the need for more effective home and prehospital care. Interconnected medical devices and applications, which comprise an infrastructure referred to as the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), have enabled remote patient monitoring and can be important tools to cope with these demographic changes. However, developing IoMT platforms requires profound knowledge of clinical needs and challenges related to interoperability and how these can be managed with suitable technologies.Objective: The purpose of this scoping review is to summarize the best practices and technologies to overcome interoperability concerns in IoMT platform development for medical emergencies in home and prehospital care.Methods: This scoping review will be conducted in accordance with Arksey and O’Malley’s 5-stage framework and adhere to the PRISMA-P (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses Protocols) guidelines. Only peer-reviewed articles published in English will be considered. The databases/web search engines that will be used are IEEE Xplore, PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, National Center for Biotechnology Information, SAGE Journals, and ScienceDirect. The search process for relevant literature will be divided into 4 different steps. This will ensure that a suitable approach is followed in terms of search terms, limitations, and eligibility criteria. Relevant articles that meet the inclusion criteria will be screened in 2 stages: abstract and title screening and full-text screening. To reduce selection bias, the screening process will be performed by 2 reviewers.Results: The results of the preliminary search indicate that there is sufficient literature to form a good foundation for the scoping review. The search was performed in April 2022, and a total of 4579 articles were found. The main clinical focus is the prevention and management of falls, but other medical emergencies, such as heart disease and stroke, are also considered. Preliminary results show that little attention has been given to real-time IoMT platforms that can be deployed in real-world care settings. The final results are expected to be presented in a scoping review in 2023 and will be disseminated through scientific conference presentations, oral presentations, and publication in a peer-reviewed journal.Conclusions: This scoping review will provide insights and recommendations regarding how interoperable real-time IoMT platforms can be developed to handle medical emergencies in home and prehospital care. The findings of this research could be used by researchers, clinicians, and implementation teams to facilitate future development and interdisciplinary discussions.

  • Three Compositional Varieties of Rare-Earth Element Ore: Eudialyte-Group Minerals from the Norra Kärr Alkaline Complex, Southern Sweden

    • Agpaitic nepheline syenites at the Norra Kärr Alkaline Complex, southern Sweden, are rich in zirconium and rare-earth elements (REE), which are mainly accommodated in eudialyte-group minerals (EGM). Norra Kärr hosts three compositionally distinct groups of EGM, which are complex zirconosilicates. Analyses of EGM by electron beam energy-dispersive (SEM-EDS) and wavelength-dispersive (WDS-EMP) X-ray microanalysis are presented and compared, complemented by whole-rock analyses. The SEM-EDS and WDS-EMP methods produce comparable results for most elements. Considering that most SEM instruments have a user-friendly EDS system, it is a useful tool for reconnaissance work in research and especially in exploration-related studies. The EGM evolved markedly from an initial Fe-rich and REE-poor, but HREE-dominated variety, to an intermediate Fe-Mn and HREE-rich one, and to a final Mn- and LREE-rich variety, which occur in rocks classified as lakarpite and grennaite. Based on the Mn/(Fe+Mn) ratios of the EGM, this trend is interpreted as a result of magmatic evolution. The threefold diversity of EGM presented in this work is much broader than has previously been documented.
