TepfersKeywords: FRP, confinement, plasticity theory, dilation, damageABSTRACT: An investigation and calibration methodology is presented for theplastic behaviour of FRP confined concrete based on the indirect extraction ofexperimental data from monotonic compression tests of confined cylinders. ADrucker-Prager plasticity model is proposed with an advanced hardening -softening function, in agreement with experimental observations, where theinelastic parameters of concrete are uniquely expressed through analyticalrelations to concrete strength or jacket's stiffness. The plastic dilationparameter depends on the strength of concrete as well as on the axial rigidityof jacket. The predictions of the model are compared against publishedexperimental data of several researchers and against confinement models.
