  • 2016 Workshop on Exascale Multi/Many Core Computing Systems (E-MuCoCoS)
  • 2016
  • Samlingsverk (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Exascale computing will revolutionize computational science and engineering by providing 1000x the capabilities of currently available computing systems, while having a similar power footprint. The HPC community is working towards the development of the first Exaflop computer after reaching the Petaflop milestone in 2008. There are concerns that computer designs based on existing multi-core and many-core solutions will not scale to Exascale considering technical challenges (such as, productivity, energy consumption or reliability) and reasonable economic constraints. Therefore, novel multi-core and many-core solutions are required to reach Exascale. The E-MuCoCoS workshop series focuses on multi/many core languages, system software and architectural solutions for extreme-scale systems towards Exascale.

  • 7th IEEE International Conference on  Software Engineering (ICSE), 2015 IEEE/ACM 3 (Volume:2 )
  • 2015
  • Proceedings (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Cyber-physical system (CPS) have been recognized as a top-priority in research and development. The innovations sought for CPS demand them to deal effectively with dynamicity of their environment, to be scalable, adaptive, tolerant to threats, etc. -- i.e. they have to be smart. Although approaches insoftware engineering (SE) exist that individually meet these demands, their synergy to address the challenges of smart CPS (sCPS) in a holistic manner remains an open challenge. The workshop focuses on software engineering challenges for sCPS. The goals are to increase the understanding of problems of SE for sCPS, study foundational principles for engineering sCPS, and identify promising SE solutions for sCPS. Based on these goals, the workshop aims to formulate a research agenda for SE of sCPS.

  • A Chest in the Attic
  • 2019
  • Konstnärligt arbeteabstract
    • When the attic of the Huseby estate house was cleaned in 2008, a large wooden chest was found. It had not been opened since being sealed in India and shipped to Sweden in 1869. Its contents reveal a world of knowledge that changes how we understand the history of colonial India and of Småland 150 years ago, and how these histories intertwine.  Joseph Stephens grows up in a British family shaped by the global transformations of the nineteenth century. Joseph was born in Stockholm and, when he is 11 years old, moved to Copenhagen where his father George, folklorist and runologist, had taken up a position at the university. In 1859, at the age of 19, Joseph leaves for Bombay.   This is an important port city and a world-leading metropole of trade and finance. Here, Joseph is trained to become a civil engineer under his brother-in-law, an engineer working on one of the world’s largest infrastructure projects: the railways. In the 1860s the Great Indian Peninsula Railway Company (G.I.P.R.) was constructing the trunk lines between India’s trade metropoles, Bombay and Calcutta. The large railway network will eventually interconnect the colonial economy, transporting passengers, goods and troops across the continent. Joseph soon becomes a subcontractor and mobilises labourers and material for smaller projects. After some time he set up his own firm: Joseph Stephens & Company.

  • A research agenda for entrepreneurship and context
  • 2016. - 1
  • Samlingsverk (redaktörskap) (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Elgar Research Agendas outline the future of research in a given area. Leading scholars are given the space to explore their subject in provocative ways, and map out the potential directions of travel. They are relevant but also visionary. There is growing recognition that entrepreneurship can be better understood within its context(s). This carefully designed book invites readers to take a journey: from reflecting critically on where the discussion on context and entrepreneurship stands today towards identifying future research questions and themes that deserve the attention of entrepreneurship scholars. This collection draws attention to the research challenges the entrepreneurship field faces by reviewing the many facets of contexts and by reflecting on methods and theoretical approaches that are required in order to contextualize entrepreneurship research. Written by renowned international scholars, the book's leading-edge contributions provide a thorough exploration of how to contextualize entrepreneurship research. Taking a multidisciplinary approach, comprehensive coverage of the entrepreneurship/contexts debate is included, in addition to reading lists and a chapter dedicated to advancing future research avenues. Students and academics interested in context and entrepreneurship will benefit from this far-reaching and forward-thinking book.

  • A Visual History of HIV/AIDS : Exploring the Face of AIDS Film Archive
  • 2019
  • Samlingsverk (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Face of AIDS film archive at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, consists of more than 700 hours of unedited and edited footage, shot over a period of more than thirty years and all over the world by filmmaker and journalist Staffan Hildebrand. The material documents the HIV/AIDS pandemic and includes scenes from conferences and rallies, and interviews with activists, physicians, people with the infection, and researchers. It represents a global historical development from the early years of the AIDS crisis to a situation in which it is possible to live a normal life with the HIV virus. This volume brings together a range of academic perspectives – from media and film studies, medical history, gender studies, history, and cultural studies – to bear on the archive, shedding light on memories, discourses, trauma, and activism.Using a medical humanities framework, the editors explore the influence of historical representations of HIV/AIDS and stigma in a world where antiretroviral treatment has fundamentally altered the conditions under which many people diagnosed with HIV live. Organized into four sections, this book begins by introducing the archive and its role, setting it in a global context. The first part looks at methodological, legal and ethical issues around archiving memories of the present which are then used to construct histories of the past; something that can be particularly controversial when dealing with a socially stigmatized epidemic such as HIV/AIDS. The second section is devoted to analyses of particular films from the archive, looking at the portrayal of people living with HIV/AIDS, the narrative of HIV as a chronic illness and the contemporary context of particular films. The third section looks at how stigma and trauma are negotiated in the material in the Face of AIDS film archive, discussing ideas about suffering and culpability. The final section contributes perspectives on and by the filmmaker as activist and auteur. This interdisciplinary collection is placed at the intersection of medical humanities, sexuality studies and film and media studies, continuing a tradition of studies on the cultural and social understandings of HIV/AIDS.
