- Offentlig konst utgör en viktig del av stadsrummet och används i många olika syften. Det kan handla om att försköna platser och om att stärka känslan av tillhörighet och den lokala identiteten. Det finns också förväntningar på att konsten ska bidra till lösningar på samhällsproblem kopplade till brobyggande, otrygghet och segregation och lönsamhet genom att öka stadens attraktivitet. I denna rapport understryker vi vikten av att reflektera kritiskt över förväntningar på och villkor för offentlig konst i svenska kommuner. Rapporten behandlar hur konstprocesser kan påverka invånare och konstnärer och problematiserar för vem och i vems intresse den offentliga konsten skapas.

- The smart home around 2020 is based on interconnected software equipped things that through automation are supposed to deliver new pleasures and conveniences. This technological makeover of domestic settings is characterised by consumption of things that are promoted as novel and spectacular. If successful, these things are then gradually transformed into ignored infrastructure, into paraphernalia of routinised everyday life. This is a pro- cess of mundanisation, through which complex technologies are seldom domesticated. Instead they are integrated in everyday life while still be- ing incomprehensible and beyond control. I illus- trate this process with examples from a smart lighting system.

- This essay will discuss my work in the interstices between art and cultural analysis. I will expound on how I’ve used a certain concept as part of artistic practice and cultural analytic research. The concept, which I’ve chosen to call Mundania, is used to grapple with the role of emerging technologies in everyday life. The concept is used to discharge imaginations about everyday life characterised by a looming uncertainty and the comingling with ungraspable complex technologies that gradually become ordinary. I will show and discuss how the work with the Mundania-concept is based on processes of probing.

- The sound work "Taking Seat" by Robert Willim, could be experienced from a specially designed ‘sound bench’ placed outside Skissernas Museum in Lund. Combining manipulations of words and field recordings the work reflects practices of sitting.What are the forces set in motion by sitting? What are the technologies and techniques of sitting?Anthropologists argue that we have been living in The Sitting Society for a long time, building on the idea that in order for the mind to work at its’ best, the body should be in rest. The thinker, innovator and researcher sit down, doing work, figuring things out, setting things in motion. Sitting is simultaneously seen as a health problem, an epidemic, extended times of sitting as harmful. Then again, for many people, sitting is required for mobility. Taking seat in a train, a car, on a bicycle or for that matter in a wheel chair. The work was conceived and composed especially for the Sound Bench by Audiorama, and premiered during the Future Week 2020.
