- Sture Bolin, professor of history at Lund University from 1938 to 1963, was, from the end of the 1940s, a good democrat. But he had earlier been of a very different mind. He did not want Swedish students to join the new International Confederation of Students, the CIE, because it was French-dominated and because German students were not involved. He liked Imperial Germany, but not the Weimar Republic. When the French occupied the Ruhr in 1923, he took France's part, because in his opinion Germany was then being ruled by Semites, not Teutons. Bolin played a leading role in Sveriges Nationella Ungdomsforbund, the National Youth League of Sweden; first in Lund, then nationally. When in 1932 Lund politicians, Bolin among them, gained control of the League, they made no secret of the attraction National Socialism in Germany held for them.This caused the break in 1934 between the Swedish Conservative Party and its Youth League. The main reason was the junior organization's refusal to repudiate Nazism.

- The witness seminar ”Tidiga söksystem” [Early Information Retrieval Systems] was held at Tekniska museet [The National Museum of Science and Technology] in Stockholm on 21 January 2008 and was led by PhD Anna Orrghen. Different aspects of the use of digital technology in the development of information retrieval systems were discussed and debated, with special emphasis on research libraries. The witness seminar focused on three Swedish research environments that developed IR systems during an early stage: the main library at The Royal Institute of Technology (KTHB) where the systems ABACUS, EPOSVIRA, KOMPOST, TRIP and 3RIP were underlined in the discussion, the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOA) and the development of CORSAIR and Karolinska Institutet (KI) where the development and use of MEDLARS and MEDLINE took place. The main questions dealt with the origin and development of those systems, the importance of international collaboration and the role of SINFDOK as an important financier.

- During Bach's lifetime, the history of temperament in Western music took new turns, but his relationship to this development is far from well understood. The article explores a number of relevant questions to help define what we actually can know about this matter: •Which sources about musical temperament are relevant in regard to Bach's practice and what can be learned from them? •How detailed, plausible or credible is the relevant information? •Do we know whether Bach had any influence on the choice of temperament in organ projects? If so, to what extent and what was his advice? •To what degree do extant contemporary reports, expert opinions and historical instruments allow us to reconstruct temperaments in the organ building of Bach's age? •What role did the temperament of instruments with fixed pitches (like keyboards) play in interaction with free-intonating instruments and singers? It appears that conclusive evidence for answering these question does not exist, which might be liberating: In the end, it remains a matter for the individual to decide which temperament seems to be musically apt for the performance of any of Bach’s compositions.
