  • Demokratisera nationalekonomin : Problmet är att nationalekonomi inte bara är vetenskap utan samtidigt ideologi
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Grus & Guld. - Skövde : JAK Medlemsbank. - 1650-4704. ; :2, s. 27-

  • Sustainability economics as a contested concept :
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Ecological Economics. - : Elsevier. - 0921-8009 .- 1873-6106. ; 70:6, s. 1019-1020
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Sustainability economics as a concept is interpreted differently in different publications. Some authors look for a modification of mainstream neoclassical economics while the present author regards sustainability economics as part of a different and separate economics paradigm.

  • The devil is in the details : Incorrect intuitions in optimal search
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization. - : Elsevier BV. - 0167-2681 .- 1879-1751. ; 75:2, s. 338-347
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In the classic Secretary Problem it has been established that people tend to search somewhat less than is optimal, and a number of explanations have been suggested. Here we propose a new explanation, the Similar-But-Incorrect Intuitions Hypothesis, which says that suboptimal search behavior is to be expected because optimal strategies vary disproportionately with subtle details of the search problem setup, whereas people seem to entertain general intuitions about optimal search. We find support for this hypothesis in experiments on a new search problem, the Explore-and-Collect Problem, where the player collects utility from an option every time it is tried and options can be recalled. Although the optimal search effort in this problem is much smaller than for the Secretary Problem, people tend to search only marginally less. This is not predicted by previous explanations for suboptimal search.

  • Governing cooperation hazards of outsourced municipal low contractibility transactions : An exploratory configuration approach
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Management Accounting Research. - : Elsevier BV. - 1044-5005 .- 1096-1224. ; 22:4, s. 292-312
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Increasingly, public sector organizations (PSOs) outsource the delivering of important welfare services. This gives rise to important questions of how PSOs can control their suppliers. The purpose of this paper is to show how PSOs manage cooperation hazards of low contractibility transactions, i.e., activities expected to be difficult to govern. The paper applies a taxonomic configuration approach which means we apply a holistic view on the governance of suppliers and search for internally congruent governance packages that also are adapted to the context of the transactions. Three theoretically meaningful and qualitative different configurations appear in the empirical material. We find indications of the importance of internal congruence in governance packages in order to effectively deal with cooperation hazards and that the intensity in and types of controls in inter-organizational relationships are affected by the amount of cooperation hazards. A conflict between a relational and a market-based governance package in one of the configurations is argued to be the main driver behind lower expectations about positive behaviour from suppliers

  • Effect assessment in work environment interventions : A methodological reflection
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Ergonomics. - : Informa UK Limited. - 0014-0139 .- 1366-5847. ; 53:1, s. 130-137
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper addresses a number of issues for work environment intervention (WEI) researchers in light of the mixed results reported in the literature. If researchers emphasise study quality over intervention quality, reviews that exclude case studies with high quality and multifactorial interventions may be vulnerable to 'quality criteria selection bias'. Learning from 'failed' interventions is inhibited by both publication bias and reporting lengths that limit information on relevant contextual and implementation factors. The authors argue for the need to develop evaluation approaches consistent with the complexity of multifactorial WEIs that: a) are owned by and aimed at the whole organisation; and b) include intervention in early design stages where potential impact is highest. Context variety, complexity and instability in and around organisations suggest that attention might usefully shift from generalisable 'proof of effectiveness' to a more nuanced identification of intervention elements and the situations in which they are more likely to work as intended. Statement of Relevance: This paper considers ergonomics interventions from perspectives of what constitutes quality and 'proofo. It points to limitations of traditional experimental intervention designs and argues that the complexity of organisational change, and the need for multifactorial interventions that reach deep into work processes for greater impact, should be recognised.

  • ERP selection through business relationships : adaptations or connections
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Entrepreneural Venturing. - 1742-5360. ; 3:1, s. 63-83
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This article analyses how a generic form of information technology (IT), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, can be selected by companies to enhance their business. ERP systems are a means of becoming more efficient through predefined standard functions called 'best practices'. Following the theory that markets are made up of business relationships in a network context, managerial advice would be to assess the vendor's existing business relationships. A company can harvest the inherent functions that an ERP system has from the vendor's prior interaction with other customers. This paper discusses how a company benefits from engaging in a new business relationship with an ERP vendor to become more competitive. However, this relationship is double-edged. A lesson is that the functions developed by the ERP vendor and the customer only offer a temporal competitive advantage, given that it can be used later in the ERP vendor's other connected business relationships.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility : Discourse, Narratives and Communication
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management. - : Wiley InterScience. - 1535-3958 .- 1535-3966. ; 17:2, s. 63-69
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The problematic and contestable nature of discourses on corporate social responsibility (CSR) has driven the commissioning of this special issue on discourses, narratives, and communication about CSR. While CSR may be seen as sharing normative goals with the concept of sustainable development, there are fundamental questions to be asked about the nature and purpose of CSR, how it has been constructed and framed, and whether it promotes the normative goals of sustainable development in order to effect change to the business-as-usual model. The teasing out of the different discourses of CSR has become an important theme in academic research in recent years. In this issue, that discourse is developed. The authors discover gaps between CSR as understood by civil society groups and radical non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the CSR norms promoted at corporate level. The latter fail to impact on business-as-usual, even though the same lan- guage may be used. The link between Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting and market-value is explored; and CSR principles and actions promoted by business are cri- tiqued from the perspective of the norms of sustainable development, one conclusion being that the parameters of sustainable development as a concept need to be extended to include the dimension of culture.

  • Leadership, not leaders : On the study of leadership as practices and interactions
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Scandinavian Journal of Management. - : Elsevier BV. - 0956-5221 .- 1873-3387. ; 26:1, s. 77-86
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper, we suggest a perspective within leadership research that has an analytical focus on leadership as it is practiced in daily interaction, rather than on individual leaders. We draw upon recent developments in leadership research that emphasize leadership as processes, practices and interactions in formulating basic scientific assumptions of such a perspective. The suggested perspective will enable us to gain new understandings of how leadership activities emerge in social interaction and of how institutionalized notions of leadership are brought into and re-constructed in these same activities. Given this reasoning, we would suggest that the empirical study of leadership should be based in a process ontology, focused on leadership practices as constructed in interactions.
