- The main purpose of this dissertation is to examine the reactions of Swedish authors to the Spanish Civil War, 1936-39. Material from after 1939 has, however, also been included; above all in the studies of Josef Kjellgren, Eyvind Johnson and Peder Sjogren. Finally, the development of the Spanish theme is traced up to the present day. The reaction provoked by the War in contemporary Swedish literature may seem weak. It is an essential ingredient in only two major literary works: Eyvind Johnson's Nattövning (Night Exercise) (1938) and Josef Kjellgren's drama Okänd svensk soldat (Unknown Swedish Soldier) (1938). A somewhat different view appears, however, if the material published in newspapers, magazines and the two volumes of collected works entitled Till Madrid (To Madrid) (1937) and I dag Spanien. . . . (Today Spain . . .) (1939) are taken into account. Different attitudes to the Civil War are discussed - from strong commitment to the Republican cause to total silence. The socialist aspect is prominent: Erik Blomberg and others stressed the view of the struggle as class-warfare. Hjalmar Söderberg manifests a humanist outlook. Artur Lundkvist and Gunnar Ekelöf oppose any simplification of the problems raised by the war. In Elin Wagner we see the agony of a pacifist. The majority of non-socialist authors were either neutral or kept silent. The Civil War was a particularly significant event for Josef Kjellgren, Eyvind Johnson and Peder Sjögren. For Kjellgren, solidarity with his Spanish comrades was central; for Johnson, resistance to Fascism. Sjögren was the only author to take part in the War as a volunteer. In his reports from the front there is none of the idealization of the Republican struggle or the heroic portrayal of volunteers that were so common in those who sided with the Government. The policy of non-intervention and the support given to it by the Swedish Government was criticized by several authors. Volunteers and total war were central issues in the debate and were also common literary motifs. The Spanish Civil War proved to have surprising staying-power as a literary theme. It recurs in the work of the Writers of the 'Forties group, particularly those with anarcho-syndicalist leanings, and regained its topicality in the ’sixties and 'seventies. The Civil War has acquired symbolic and mythical overtones.

- Detta kunskapsunderlag handlar om de yngsta barnens behov i de situationer där brister i deras omvårdnad kräver särskild samhällelig uppmärksamhet. Rapporten inleds med en genomgång av anknytningsteorin. Denna används som en utvecklingspsykologisk referensram för att beskriva barns känslomässiga utveckling med speciellt fokus på de anknytningsrelationer som skapas under de första tre till fyra levnadsåren. Människobarnet är vid födseln fysiskt och psykiskt beroende av den vuxne för sin överlevnad och den eller de föräldrapersoner som regelbundet tar hand om barnet kommer genom sin omvårdnad att bli barnets anknytningsperson/er och påverka barnets psykosociala utveckling, både på kort och på lång sikt.

- This paper describes Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC: 0-3) a descriptive classification system designed to address the need for descriptions of mental health difficulties in the first 4 years of life. DC: 0-3 was implemented in a Psychiatric Program for Infants and Toddlers (Nic Waals Institute) in Norway. DC: 0-3 was used in parallel with earlier established clinical routines and ICD 10 classification. A group of 138 children was classified according to DC: 0-3, Axes I and II. 59% of the children were classified with a Primary Diagnosis according to Axis I, and 48 % with a Relationship Classification according to Axis II. The clinicians found DC: 0-3 criteria to be more clinically relevant for this age group than the ICD 10, and they appreciated the use of Axis II to describe the relationship.

- Artikeln bygger på data hämtade från en svensk effektstudie av Trygghetscirkeln. Utvärderingar gjorda av gruppledare och 25 föräldrar presenteras tillsammans med förändringar av föräldrars inre representationer av barnet samt samspelskvalitet i föräldra-barnparet före och efter interventionen. Bedömningarna gjordes med Working Model of the Child Interview (WMCI) and Emotional Available (EA) scales. Gruppledare och föräldrar var enhälligt positiva till Trygghetscirkelns teori, begrepp och upplägg. Gruppledarna uttryckte att metoden underlättade föräldrarnas delaktighet i behandlingen, men betonade att uppväckta känslor måste ges utrymme för bearbetning mellan sessionerna. Uppföljningen visade att 10 föräldrars inre representation förändrats till balanserad och att 13 föräldra-barnpar förbättrat sin samspelskvalitet efter interventionen. Resultaten lyfter fram Trygghetscirkelns värde som komplement till sedvanlig behandling för familjer med späda och små barn.

Repetitive and monotonous work among women : Psychophysiological and subjective stress reactions, muscle activity and neck and shoulder pain

- Repetitive and monotonous work is frequently associated with neck and shoulder pain and negative psychosocial factors inducing stress reactions. The present thesis concerns the relations between psychophysiological and subjective stress reactions, muscle activity measured by surface electromyography (SEMG) in the trapezius muscle, and neck and shoulder pain in women performing repetitive and monotonous work. In Study I cardiovascular and subjective stress reactions were investigated during computer work in a laboratory setting. The findings indicated that heart rate variability is a more sensitive and selective measure of mental stress compared with blood pressure recordings. Study II explored the relations between stress reactions and muscle activity during supermarket work. The results showed that perceived negative stress reactions may have a specific influence on muscle activity in the neck and shoulder region, which can be of importance for work-related musculoskeletal disorders in repetitive and monotonous work. In Study III the association between SEMG activity patterns and neck and shoulder pain was investigated during cash register work. It was found that pain-afflicted women had a different muscle activation pattern (more static, more co-contraction, less muscle rest) compared with pain-free women. Study IV was a follow-up study evaluating the introduction of job rotation among female cashiers. The results indicated positive effects on diastolic blood pressure, muscle activity, and partly on neck and shoulder pain, although perceived stress was unchanged. It was concluded that job rotation seems to have a limited effect on chronic neck and shoulder pain, but may be an effective preventive measure. The empirical findings are particularly relevant for women who, compared with men, more often perform repetitive and monotonous work and are also more often affected by neck and shoulder pain.

Odin observation of water in the IRAS 16293-2422 low-mass star forming region

- We present the Odin satellite submillimeter measurement of the ground state transition of ortho-water at 557 GHz around the low-mass protostar IRAS16293-2422. The three following regions have been probed: the on-source position, and the two regions of interaction between the molecular outflows and the dense ambient cloud, i .e. on the SiO peak E1, and near the deuterated peak (cf Lis et al.(2002)). The three spectra reveal broad emission, with a narrow and deep absorption feature at the velocity of the quiescent gas. The water line profiles and intensities have been compared and combined with the CO(3- 2) and HCO+ lines from Lis et al.(2002) after convolution over the Odin beam. The contribution from the central envelope on the water line emission has been estimated with the infall model of Shoier et al. 2002. We show that the water emission is dominated by the outflows, particularly in the red wing of the lines. Using a c-shock modelling (Cabrit et al. 2005), we derive an abundance of X(H2O) 1 - 3 × 10-5 of H2, and shock velocities of 12 - 15 km/s. We also show that the absorption feature is due to the cold outer halo and corresponds to a lower limit of a few 10-9 on the H2O abundance.
