Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
- © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019. Operation control in modern distributed systems must rely on decentralised coordination among system participants. In particular when the operation control involves critical infrastructures such as power grids, it is vital to ensure correctness properties of such coordination mechanisms. In this paper, we present a verification technique that addresses coordination protocols for power grid operation control. Given a global protocol specification, we show how we can rely on testing semantics for the purpose of ensuring protocol fidelity, i.e., to certify that the interaction among the grid nodes follows the protocol specification.

Hilbert Functions and Jordan Type of Perazzo Artinian Algebras
- 2024
-
Ingår i: Springer INdAM Series. - : Springer-Verlag Italia s.r.l.. ; , s. 59-80

Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
- We study Hilbert functions, Lefschetz properties, and Jordan type of Artinian Gorenstein algebras associated to Perazzo hypersurfaces in projective space. The main focus lies on Perazzo threefolds, for which we prove that the Hilbert functions are always unimodal. Further we prove that the Hilbert function determines whether the algebra is weak Lefschetz, and we characterize those Hilbert functions for which the weak Lefschetz property holds. By example, we verify that the Hilbert functions of Perazzo fourfolds are not always unimodal. In the particular case of Perazzo threefolds with the smallest possible Hilbert function, we give a description of the possible Jordan types for multiplication by any linear form.

Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The detection of Haemophilus influenzae by conventional methods like culture is time-consuming and may give false-negative results, especially during ongoing antibiotic treatment. Therefore, non-culture based methods that are sensitive, specific, and rapid are valuable for early diagnosis and effective therapy. Here we describe a quantitative real-time PCR assay based on the outer membrane P6 gene omp6, to detect H. influenzae and its application on respiratory tract specimens.

Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
- This chapter provides a historical overview of the development of Middle East diaspora studies and outlines the main themes within the field. Following the overview, the chapter introduces the edited volume by outlining the main arguments of each of the contributions and the ways the different chapters connect to a larger thematic argument within the field of Middle East diaspora studies.

Framing the Syrian Refugee: : Divergent Discourses in Three National Contexts

Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Focusing on the construction of the “refugee crisis” in mainstream daily newspapers in Sweden, Jordan, and Turkey in 2015, this chapter disentangles the crisis discourse into its specific components. Newspapers in the three countries focused on the “refugee crisis” as a source of concern for policy and politics at the local, national, and global levels. In comparing the discourses in the three contexts, despite their many differences, the analysis shows that the “refugee crisis” is constructed around uncertainties and inabilities to fathom the demands and consequences of such inflows of large numbers of people. Such uncertainties provide the basis on which a sense of moral, communal, or institutional crises become understood as a refugee crisis in different settings.
