- One of the aims with the Baltic Fashion project has been to strengthen the fashion industry with a focus on small and medium sized enterprises. The Baltic Sea Region has a large textile industry but all countries have different traditions and characters in regards to textile and fashion. Some countries are strong in textiles and production but not in fashion branding, and vice versa. Some countries still have a large textile manufacturing industry, whereas other countries lost most of the textile manufacturers 30-40 years ago. One of the work-packages within the Baltic Fashion has therefore focused on developing innovative topics as basis for carrying out activities that will support the fashion industries in different ways. One aim has also been to transfer the innovations and learning outcomes between the partners.

- This report presents the result of a questionnaire about the view of Swedish fashion companies on their need for training and education as well as the result from two roundtable meetings with ten Swedish fashion companies. The research is done within the EU project Baltic Fashion. The purpose of this project is to support the fashion industry in the Baltic Sea Region and the objective of this part is to develop training programs within each country, as well as producing a web site with information that fashion companies need.

The International Growth of Swedish Fashion Companies

- This report is the result of a research study on how some of the established and successful Swedish fashion companies have become international fashion brands. The purpose of the study is to analyse how and why these companies have made different choices, which barriers they have experienced and overcome, what mistakes they have made, what lessons they have learned and what knowledge they would like to share with new upcoming companies and young designers. Twelve medium-sized and small Swedish fashion companies participated in the study, which aimed to provide a deeper understanding on how Swedish fashion companies have acted and progressed to expand internationally. The companies that participated in the study were ACNE, Cheap Monday, Filippa K, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Hope, House of Dagmar, Hunkydory, J.Lindeberg, Odd Molly, Rodebjer, Tiger of Sweden and WeSC. These companies are brand-oriented with creative marketing, stand for good quality and high fashion degree. The majority were founded and built up by entrepreneurs with many years of experience and a good working knowledge of the fashion industry. All the companies that participated have been established on several markets around the world for many years. We have interviewed leading persons in these companies, who have participated in the decision-making of internationalization and also been part of the implementation. We have also used the annual report and financial development of these companies for the purpose of discussing the development with the persons we interviewed. The study shows that most Swedish fashion companies have a clear vision and a goal to become exporting brands since their inception as the Swedish market was considered to be too small. However, it has been shown later that the majority of the companies have become successful in Sweden as well and that it is possible to sell high quality goods with a high degree of fashion in a middle price segment also in Sweden. The common key success factors for international expansion have been their ability to position their brands properly and offer the international markets a good quality, high fashion degree to reasonable prices. They also emphasize the importance of a high capacity to deliver on time. However, some of the companies have been forced to self-evaluate their organizations during and after the financial crisis in order to focus on fewer markets rather than a broad expansion. They now prioritize profitability over growth. The challenge and difficulties in expanding into far away markets are due to trade restrictions, bureaucracy and cultural differences. In contrast, countries closer to the home market and EU-countries are considered to be easy export markets even if countries like the United States remain as an attractive market to invest in. For the future, some companies are looking to invest in Asia and South America even if the strategy today is to focus on the markets where they are already present. Common for all the companies in the study is that the key to international success requires very good knowledge of each market, true dedication and a large industry network. This report is conducted by the Swedish School of Textiles and is part of the research taking place within the research program F: 3, Fashion, Function, Future, which brings together the research within the field of fashion at the University of Borås. The project is a collaboration with Association of Swedish Fashion Brands and the Fashion Incubator.

Towards an Extension of the V2F Model for Transitional Flows

- In part, this study investigates the performance of the turbulence model of Walters & Leylek (2004) in the flow over a flat plate under the influence of a disturbed freestream. The most important feature of the model is that is solves an equation for a laminar kinetic energy, which is coupled to a typical $k-\varepsilon$ model, to improve the performance in transitional flows. The model is shown to be very sensitive to the prescribed freestream turbulence length scale.The study also describes the initial steps towards coupling the laminar kinetic energy transition modelling approach, suggested by Walters & Leylek (2004), to the V2F turbulence model in an effort to improve the V2F model's performance in transitional flow regimes. This coupling requires modifications of the $v^2-f$ model but the intention is that the new model should retain the properties of the original model in fully turbulent boundary layers and that the additional laminar kinetic energy equation should make the predictions in transitional boundary layers more reliable.Finally, in an initial numerical study some potential pitfalls when modelling the flat plate flow are analyzed. It is shown that the predicted transitional behavior obtained with the simplified, as compared with the experimental set-up, numerical domain used in this study may be directly compared with measurements.

Transition Modelling - A Review

- This review article discusses the phenomenon of laminar to turbulence transition in general and transition due to elevated freestream disturbances in particular. The motivation of the study is primarily the increased demands from the gas turbine industry of accurate heat transfer predictions in high and low pressure turbines. In these devices the trends of the last decade, e.g. the development of smaller turbines and turbines with higher by-pass ratios (to reduce noise), lead to engines operating at lower Reynolds number conditions and, thus, delayed and larger transitional flow regions.Three different modes of transition are discussed--natural, by-pass and separation induced transition. Natural transition is (fortunately) not an issue in gas turbine design, nor suitable to statistical modelling, which indeed is the closure level the authors intend to adopt, and is therefore not dealt with in detail. By-pass and separation induced transition on the other hand are probably about equally important to gas turbine flows. The body of literature dedicated to the latter is, however, not as considerable as that dealing with by-pass transition. This is one of the reasons why this article sometimes is biased towards by-pass transition modelling. The other reason is that this is the transition mode best suited to be described with a statistical approach, which has tempted many authors to apply well established ideas from the vast field of turbulence modelling.After an introductory description of the different transition modes some early work on transition is discussed. The turbulent spot concept Emmons (1951), followed by a derivation of the Dhawan & Narasimha (1958) intermittency distribution, is of coarse included. With the introduction of intermittency, there was soon a need for a theoretical analogue to the experimental technique `conditional sampling', i.e. a measure to treat, or model, turbulent and laminar flow portions separately. Conditional averages were introduced by Libby (1974) and it was not long before full transport equations for the intermittency factor was derived. Discussed is also the prospect of using so called low Reynolds number modelling of both near wall turbulence and transition. Thereafter follows a description of two recent transition modelling approaches and the review ends with a section collecting numerous modelling attempts, ranging from simple algebraic correlations to complex transport equations for the intermittency factor, all aiming to improve predictions of the intriguing physics of transitional flows.

Det har gjorts en bedömning för att ta fram vilka områden som lämpar sig för placering av våtmarker och småvatten inom Gullmarns tillrinningsområde. Detta är en viktig del i arbetet att ta fram åtgärdsprogram. Denna rapport är en metodbeskrivning för hur bedömningen är utförd. Själva bedömningen finns i form av en Excel-fil på Länsstyrelsen i Västra Götalands län. Rapporten och bedömningarna är gjord av Curt Svenland Miljöutredningar som därmed ansvarar för innehållet.

En vetenskaplig genomlysning av missbruksbehandlingen på HVB-hemmet Avstampet i Norr

- Syftet med den vetenskapliga genomlysningen var att undersöka hur, varför och under vilka förutsättningar HVB-hemmet Avstampet i Norr uppnår sina behandlingsresultat. Studien fokuserade på den primärbehandling mot missbruk enligt tolvstegsprogrammet och Recovery Dynamics som bedrivs vid Avstampet. Behandlingen är drog- och medicinfri. Studiens design byggde på en programteoriansats med inslag av en måluppfyllelsemodell. Programteoriansatsen användes för att ta fram en lokal och verksamhetsspecifik teori som beskriver, och i viss mån förklarar, hur och varför Avstampet uppnår sina behandlingsresultat. Med hjälp av en måluppfyllelseanalys granskades verksamhetens avsedda och uppnådda mål. Studiens teoretiska referensram bestod av KAIMeR-teorin och den kontextuella modellen vid terapeutisk behandling. Studiens data bygger på tre fokusgruppsintervjuer med personalen som genomfördes under perioden september 2019 till februari 2020.Det övergripande resultat Avstampet eftersträvar är en långvarig stabil förändring och drogfrihet i klientens liv. Klienterna ska klara av motgångar och utmaningar utan att falla tillbaka i missbruk. I resultatbeskrivning kan man identifiera både kort- och långsiktiga resultat som kan ha en yt-, processuell- eller djupaspekt. Recovery Dynamics och manualbaserade insatser utgör centrala delar i behandlingen men kompletteras av informella och situationsanpassade insatser samt gruppinsatser. De informella insatserna baserar sig på medlevarskap och är oftast icke-uttalade. Fyra olika typer av informella insatser kunde identifieras: bemötande och omtanke, fysisk beröring, upplevelser och att agera pedagogiskt opedagogisk. Situationsanpassade insatser skräddarsys på basis av klienternas behov och de kan vara informella eller formella. Gruppinsatser grundar sig i den manualbaserade behandlingen där användningen av gruppsessioner är ett uttalat inslag.I behandlingen ingår utomterapeutiska faktorer, dvs. behandlingselement som sker utanför Avstampets väggar. Klienterna deltar i AA/NA-möten som ordnas i närområdet. Personalen hjälper klienten med saker som hör till klienternas privatliv. Man uppmuntrar också både klienten och handläggaren att ha kontakt under tiden klienten är på behandlingshemmet. Dessutom är utomterapeutiska faktorer ”inbyggda” i tolvstegsbehandlingen, i och med att de sista stegen (efter primärbehandlingen) innebär att gå ut i samhället och stötta andra individer i aktivt missbruk.Personalen har en klar uppfattning om vilka antaganden som styr behandlingen och som formar deras förhållningssätt till klienterna. Man utgår från att beroende är en sjukdom med fysiska, mentala och känslomässiga inslag och att behandlingen ska vara fri från mediciner och droger. Personalens handlingar utgår från ett relationellt förhållningssätt och medlevarskap och varje klient har en egen kontaktperson. Ett centralt antagande är att klienten ska lära sig nya verktyg under behandlingen, vilket personalen undervisar om, och att klienten förväntas ta ansvar för sin förändringsprocess, men med vägledning från Avstampet. Klienterna förväntas också stötta varandra under processen och delta i matchningsprocessen av nya klienter. I studien identifierades fyra främjande kontextuella faktorer: 1) att det på Avstampet finns strikta regler och en tydlig vardagsstruktur som stödjer klienternas förändringsprocess; 2) verksamhetens småskalighet, dvs. att det endast finns 10 platser; 3) personalens starka sammanhållning, laganda och gemensamma synsätt på beroendevård och relationens betydelse för en lyckad behandling; 4) att personalen har god kännedom om, och förståelse för, den kontext klienterna kommer ifrån och att klientens livsvärld utanför behandlingshemmet beaktas vid behov under behandlingen. I studien identifierades inga kontextuella faktorer som direkt motverkar behandlingsresultaten.
