  • Overexpression of connective tissue growth factor WISP-1 in Chinese primary rectal cancer patients
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: World Journal of Gastroenterology. - 1007-9327 .- 2219-2840. ; 13:28, s. 3878-3882
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Aim: To clarify the expression change of Wnt-induced secreted protein-1 (WISP-1) in human rectal cancer and to determine whether it is correlated with invasion and metastasis of human rectal cancer. Methods: Eighty-six paired samples of rectal cancer and surgically resected distant normal rectal tissue were collected and allocated into cancer group and control group respectively. WISP-1 mRNA was detected by relative quantitative real-time RT-PCR and WISP-1 protein was examined by immunohistochemical staining. Results: WISP-1 gene overexpression was found in 65% (56/86) primary rectal cancers, 2-30 times that of the level in normal matched rectal tissues (P = 0.001). The mRNA expression level was correlated with Duke's staging, histological differentiation grade and lymph node status. The WISP-1 protein expression was in accordance with mRNA expression level. The positive degree of immunohistochemical staining in the cancer group (1.40 ± 0.35) was different from that in control group (1.04 ± 0.08, P < 0.001). Moreover, in cancer group the positive staining degree in high-level mRNA cancers (1.46 ± 0.37, n = 56) was higher than that in low-level mRNA (1.28 ± 0.28, n = 30, P = 0.018). Conclusion: Aberrant levels of WISP-1 expression may play a role in rectal tumorigenesis. WISP-1 may be used as a specific clinical diagnosis and prognosis marker in rectal cancer. © 2007 WJG. • Coherent interference in the resonant dissociative electron attachment to carbon monoxide
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Physical Review A. Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics. - 1050-2947 .- 1094-1622. ; 88:1, s. 012708-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Dissociative electron attachment to carbon monoxide, e(-) + CO -> C + O-, at 9.5, 10.0, and 10.6 eV is investigated by using the anion velocity time-sliced map imaging technique. The completely backward scattering distributions of the fast O- fragment are observed at 10.0 and 10.6 eV. The single electron-molecule resonance model fails in interpretation to these unusual angular distributions, while a quantum interference model including two (at 10.0 eV) or three (at 10.6 eV) dissociative outgoing waves is consequently proposed and provides the satisfying results about the experimental data fittings. Moreover, coherent interference among the (2)Pi, (2)Delta, and (2)Phi resonant states of CO- at 10.6 eV could be further established, based on the fact that the sum of the phase-shift fitting values equals pi rad.

  • Theoretical identification of C34 isomers by XPS and NEXAFS spectra
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Chemical Physics Letters. - : Elsevier. - 0009-2614 .- 1873-4448. ; 644, s. 111-116
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Six C34 isomers were theoretically identified by X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectra. The XPS and NEXAFS spectra of K-edge for all non-equivalent carbon atoms were simulated by density functional theory method combined with the full core-hole potentials. The XPS spectra mainly showed dependence on the isomers with different symmetries. Strong isomer identification of the NEXAFS spectra for C34 was found and discussed in detail. Furthermore, the spectra components of carbon atoms with different local environment were explored. The NEXAFS spectra dependence on the local structure of fullerene was discussed as well.

  • Theoretical Isomer Identification of Three C-56 Fullerenes and Their Chlorinated Derivatives by XPS and NEXAFS Spectra
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: The Journal of Physical Chemistry C. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 1932-7447 .- 1932-7455. ; 120:25, s. 13779-13786
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The C Is X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy for three C-56 fullerene isomers and their chlorinated derivatives have been theoretically simulated by means of density functional theory (DFT). Compared with XPS, the NEXAFS spectra present remarkable dependence on the structures of all the studied molecules and thus can be used to identify the three C-56 isomers and chlorinated species. The spectra of the chlorinated species present significant variations compared with the pristine fullerenes. The spectral components of carbon atoms of different local environment have been investigated as well. The spectra of carbons saturated by chlorine atoms exhibit a shift toward higher energies compared with the others.

  • Health and climate change : policy responses to protect public health
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: The Lancet. - 0140-6736 .- 1474-547X. ; 386:10006, s. 1861-1914
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The 2015 Lancet Commission on Health and Climate Change has been formed to map out the impacts of climate change, and the necessary policy responses, in order to ensure the highest attainable standards of health for populations worldwide. This Commission is multidisciplinary and international in nature, with strong collaboration between academic centres in Europe and China. The central finding from the Commission's work is that tackling climate change could be the greatest global health opportunity of the 21st century. The key messages from the Commission are summarised below, accompanied by ten underlying recommendations to accelerate action in the next 5 years.

  • The Lancet Countdown : tracking progress on health and climate change
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: The Lancet. - 0140-6736 .- 1474-547X. ; 389:10074, s. 1151-1164
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Lancet Countdown: tracking progress on health and climate change is an international, multidisciplinary research collaboration between academic institutions and practitioners across the world. It follows on from the work of the 2015 Lancet Commission, which concluded that the response to climate change could be "the greatest global health opportunity of the 21st century". The Lancet Countdown aims to track the health impacts of climate hazards; health resilience and adaptation; health co-benefits of climate change mitigation; economics and finance; and political and broader engagement. These focus areas form the five thematic working groups of the Lancet Countdown and represent different aspects of the complex association between health and climate change. These thematic groups will provide indicators for a global overview of health and climate change; national case studies highlighting countries leading the way or going against the trend; and engagement with a range of stakeholders. The Lancet Countdown ultimately aims to report annually on a series of indicators across these five working groups. This paper outlines the potential indicators and indicator domains to be tracked by the collaboration, with suggestions on the methodologies and datasets available to achieve this end. The proposed indicator domains require further refinement, and mark the beginning of an ongoing consultation process-from November, 2016 to early 2017-to develop these domains, identify key areas not currently covered, and change indicators where necessary. This collaboration will actively seek to engage with existing monitoring processes, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and WHO's climate and health country profiles. The indicators will also evolve over time through ongoing collaboration with experts and a range of stakeholders, and be dependent on the emergence of new evidence and knowledge. During the course of its work, the Lancet Countdown will adopt a collaborative and iterative process, which aims to complement existing initiatives, welcome engagement with new partners, and be open to developing new research projects on health and climate change.

  • Microstructure and magnetocaloric properties of melt-extracted SmGdDyCoAl high-entropy amorphous microwires
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Rare Metals. - : Springer Nature. - 1001-0521 .- 1867-7185. ; 43:3, s. 1234-1242
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents a systematic investigation of the microstructure and magnetocaloric properties of melt-extracted Sm20Gd20Dy20Co20Al20 high-entropy microwires. The fabricated wires exhibited an amorphous structure, and the temperature interval of the undercooled liquid Delta T was 45 K. The microwires underwent a second-order magnetic transition from a ferromagnetic to a paramagnetic state near the Curie temperature (T-C=52 K). The maximum magnetic entropy change (-Delta S-M(max)), the relative cooling power and the refrigeration capacity reached 6.34 J.kg(-1).K-1, 422.09 J.kg(-1) and 332.94 J.kg(-1), respectively, under a magnetic field change of 5 T. In addition, the temperature-averaged entropy changes with two temperature lifts (3 and 10 K) were 6.32 and 6.27 J.kg(-1).K-1, respectively. The good magnetocaloric performance highlights the significant potential for the Sm20Gd20Dy20Co20Al20 microwires to be used as magnetic refrigerant materials in low-temperature region applications. This work will serve as a valuable reference for future investigations on low-temperature high-entropy magnetocaloric materials.
