Search for the lepton number violating decay Sigma(-) -> pe(-) e(-) and the rare inclusive decay Sigma(-) -> Sigma(+) X

- Using a data sample of (1310.6 +/- 7.0) x 10(6) J/psi events taken with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.097 GeV, we search for the first time for the lepton number violating decay Sigma(-) -> pe(-) e(-) and the rare inclusive decay Sigma(-) -> Sigma(+) X, where X denotes any possible particle combination. The Sigma(-) candidates are tagged in J/psi -> (Sigma) over bar (1385)(+)Sigma(-) decays. No signal candidates are found, and the upper limits on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level are determined to be B(Sigma(-) -> pe(-) e(-)) < 6.7 x 10(-5) and B(Sigma(-) -> Sigma(+) X) < 1.2 x 10(-4).

Search for the light hadron decay χc1(3872) → π+π-η

- With a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.5 fb(-1) collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, for the first time the light hadron decay chi(c1()3872)->pi(+)pi(-)eta is searched for. While no significant signal is observed, the upper limits at the 90% confidence level for sigma[e(+)e(-)->gamma chi(c1)(3872)]B[chi(c1)(3872)->pi(+)pi(-)eta] at center of mass energies from 4.13 GeV to 4.34 GeV are determined. By normalizing to the chi(c1)(3872)->pi(+)pi(-)J/psi decay channel, a 90% confidence level upper limit for the branching fraction ratio R=B[chi(c1)(3872)->pi(+)pi(-)eta]/B[chi(c1)(3872)->pi(+)pi(-)J/psi]<0.12 is given. These measurements provide important inputs for understanding the internal structure of the chi(c1)(3872) resonance

- Using a sample of 1.31 x 10(9) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform a search for the rare decay if eta' -> 4 pi(0) via J/psi -> gamma eta'. No significant eta' signal is observed in the 4 pi(0) invariant mass spectrum. With a Bayesian approach, the upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be B(eta' -> 4 pi(0)) < 4.94 x 10(-5) at the 90% confidence level, which is a factor of 6 smaller than the previous experimental limit.

- Using 10.1 x 10(9)J/ events produced by the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII) at a center-of-mass energy s = 3.097 GeV and collected with the BESIII detector, we present a search for the rare semi-leptonic decay J/psi -> D(-)e(+)nu (e) + c.c. No excess of signal above background is observed, and an upper limit on the branching fraction B(J/psi -> D(-)e(+)nu (e)+c. c.)<7.1x10(-8) is obtained at 90% confidence level. This is an improvement of more than two orders of magnitude over the previous best limit.

- Using data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, we search for the process e+e−→ ηcηπ+π−. The search is performed using five large datasets recorded at center-of-mass energies of 4.23, 4.26, 4.36, 4.42, and 4.60 GeV. The ηc meson is reconstructed in 16 exclusive decay modes. No signal is observed in the ηc mass region at any center-of-mass energy. The upper limits on the reaction cross sections are determined to be 6.2, 10.8, 27.6, 22.6 and 23.7 pb at the 90% confidence level at the center-of-mass energies listed above.

- We search for the process e(+)e(-) -> chi(cJ)pi(+) pi(-) (J = 0, 1, 2) and for a charged charmoniumlike state in the chi(cJ)pi +/- subsystem. The search uses datasets collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring at center-of-mass energies between 4.18 GeV and 4.60 GeV. No significant chi(cJ)pi(+) pi(-) signals are observed at any center-of-mass energy, and thus upper limits are provided which also serve as limits for a possible charmoniumlike structure in the invariant chi(cJ)pi +/- mass.

- We present the first search for the semileptonic decay D-s(+) -> pi(0)e(+)nu(e) using a data sample of electron-positron collisions recorded with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb(-1). This decay is expected to be sensitive to pi(0)-eta mixing. No significant signal is observed. We set an upper limit of 6.4 x 10(-5) on the branching fraction at the 90% confidence level.

- Using 2.93 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy √s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we search for the semileptonic D0(+) decays into a b1(1235)−(0) axial-vector meson for the first time. No significant signal is observed for either charge combination. The upper limits on the product branching fractions are BD0→b1(1235)−e+νe ⋅ Bb1(1235)− →ωπ− <1.12×10−4 and BD+→b1(1235)0e+νe ⋅ Bb1(1235)0→ωπ0 <1.75×10−4 at the 90% confidence level.

- By analyzing 7.33 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we search for the semileptonic decays D-s(+)-> K-1(1270)(0)e(+)nu(e) and D-s(+)-> b(1)(1235)(0)e(+)nu(e) for the first time. No significant signals are observed for either decay mode. The upper limits on the (product) branching fractions are determined to be B[D-s(+)-> K-1(1270)(0)e(+)nu(e)] < 4.1x10(-4) and B[D-s(+)-> b(1)(1235)(0)e(+)nu(e)]center dot B[b(1)(1235)(0)->omega pi(0)] < 6.4x10(-4) at 90% confidence level.
