  • Spre principii generale 2.0 : aplicarea principiilor generale ale dreptului Uniunii Europene în societatea digitală*
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Revista Română de Drept European. - 2068-8083. ; :4, s. 56-81
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Digital technologies have undoubtedly changed the outline of the organization of the modern society and indicated an emergence of the new era of its governance. Such manifestations of digitalization as social media, platform economy, big data, AI, fintech, blockchain and internet of things have become an integral and sometimes even unnoticeable part of our life having brought up, on the one hand, new solutions to the long-running problems (for example, an increased possibility of dismantling arbitrariness in decision-making processes originally carried out by humans) and, on the other hand, new unresolved challenges that pose questions to the suitability of the current legal framework regulating the digital society that is characterized by high level of flexibility and unpredictability of the results that is, however, underpinned by partially identifiable initial risks. The peculiarities of hi-tech solutions require refashioning existing modes of regulation that in its turn has a drastic impact on the edifice of EU law, including one of its cornerstones, namely the doctrine of general principles. The general principles of EU law have always been notable for their capacity of being swiftly responsive to the transformations occurring in the society and being better equipped for addressing the alterations inevitably affecting the constitutional foundations of the EU.

  • A venit timpul re-creaţiei, re-generãrii
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Steaua. - 0039-0852. ; 11-12, s. 36-38
  • Recension (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Margento's "computationally assembled" anthology (Raluca Tanasescu, Chris Tanasescu, Marius Surleac, Vaibhav Kesarwani, Diana Inkpen) has a bilingual title with different appearances: once "US" Poets Foreign Poets, then "New Poets". The first time is "foreign", the second time novelty. It is clear that the volume appearing at FrActalia Press in 2018 is a step further on the development of digital literature. As the anthologist in the Foreword says, "I was enraging and emitting", that is, a workshop-studio atmosphere, specific to Margento, always changing, convoluted. Creations are made from divagation and branching. The poem-graph expands "like Deleuzian fugue-lines". Deleuzian creation machines substitute computational algorithms and classifiers. Digital human sciences involve mathematics, computer science and the media. Interdisciplinarity is already flowing into transdisciplinarity.

  • Algoritmizarea ființelor
  • 2018

    • "Homo deus: a short history of the future", Yuval Noah Harari's book discusses the sources of power of modern man, beginning especially after the Second World War. The starting approach is the Enlightenment-specific, glorifying progress and then follow optimistic conclusions for the future. The impression is of progressive euphoria, but it is true that sometimes the jubilation is suspended and the master of ceremonies expose the emperor's nakedness. The end is even panicky, imagining the script of data theft and the rise of demigod dictators who could set up regimes of terror without the possibility of rebellion. Therefore, the author concludes, market forces need to be carefully controlled.

  • Codul lui Eminescu : Titan, demon si geniu in opera poetica a lui M. Eminescu
  • 2010
  • Bok (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Titan, Demon and Genius in the Poetical Work of Mihai Eminescu is a book that furthers on the interpretation of the most representative Eminescu’s poems and also of his lyrical theatre. Besides, a special chapter is dedicated to the cultural context of the second half of the 19th century and another one records the literary works inspired by Eminescu’s works and personality throughout the 20th century. The research is realized with comparative methods, strategy that involved tackling and solving numerous translation problems when parallels were drawn to American and English romanticist works.Structurally, the book is founded on a three-level approach. The main intention was to highlight the evolution of triad: the demon’s fury and revolt, mostly set among narcissistic coordinates, are re-valued with the titanic character in the fight for public welfare and for spiritual evolution of the human species. Contrary to those opinions that apprehended genius as a defeated, exhausted titan, I tried to demonstrate that this stage represents the climax in the intellectual ascension of Eminescu’s triadic character. The genius’s involvement is obvious in The Dramatic Dodecameron, where Eminescu shapes the matrix of a national mythology founded on Dacian and Muşatinic bases. The literary analyses are constantly supported by concepts and philosophical theories that intersected the writer’s encyclopaedic preoccupations. Of crucial importance was the relief given to Eminescu’s gnoseological connections with alchemy, theology, and with the diverse gnoses. All these influences and personal developments offer universal radiation to a creativity that moved from the exotic romanticism to the hyper-stylized baroque, and up to the ascetic and perfectly balanced classicism.

    • What Andrei Novac intends to restore is the poetry that could have written more to Romania if it had not dismantled by the communism which lasted 45 years. The technique resides in allegories, allusions, parodies, cryptic experiments (in the best cases, because it is pointless to mention the disastrous poetic manifestations). As the basic notion of the volume is responsible and sensitive freedom, we realize that what was forbidden before is now quite marginalized:

    • The critical reception should not underestimate the readers, nor overestimate them, but approximate the correct intellectual level. We hear so often the pathetic slogan: "We are the elite"! During modernism, it was known who the elite was; in postmodernism, the elite was sprawled and distributed in honeycombs: even tv anchors perceive themselves as an elite (which the other elites do not know). Napoleon proposed himself as an elite, too, after violating the rules and the etiquette of the legitimate elite.

  • Dacă nu mai există limitări de gen în arealul profesional, de ce ar mai exista ele în limbă?
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Swedish Journal of Romanian Studies. - : Faculties of Humanities and Theology at Lund University - Swedish Journal of Romanian Studies. - 2003-0924. ; 2:1, s. 182-192
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The historical evolution of languages has been more than once influenced by the sheer influence of scholars who re-channeled some linguistic phenomena or simply consecrated aspects of colloquial usage. This happened in the history of Romanian language when the Latinist scholars cleansed the lexicon and parts of morphology of various non-Latin borrowings and derivations whereas they revived or inserted Latin formations. Taking account of this, it would be hard to justify the rejection of many feminized denominations of professions used already by people in everyday conversations. With the advance of technology and with the support of the third wave of feminism women are able nowadays to embrace whatever professional field they may want. On the other hand, there are numerous international conventions that acknowledge the role played by women in the setting up of the postindustrial society. That is why my article is a plea in favor of a linguistic updating, namely the acceptance into the literary language of feminized denominations of professions.

  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The brilliance and the sufferings of the literary critique in its first instance cannot be separated from the brilliance and suffering of the critic who firstly assesses the work. The question is whether the literary reviewer has become responsible only with public relations and the promotion of the book; more of a blurb generator - which means simple incandescent signaling - than analyzer.

  • Poezia la baionetă
  • 2019

    • When it comes to intelligent and informative writers, political poetry is a furor. It is also natural, if we take into account that people have less and less experience, that traditions and beliefs die, while their ideologies and political correctness are gaining ground. So what about the new literature, if not about small obsessions, narcissism and boldness? Only geniuses can escape the fold of the world. Previously, the minor authors did not master the craft, they were not aware of the stylistic evolution, but less likely to be accused of muddy superficiality. The poems of Flori Bălănescu have nerve, are clearly targeted, but are also subtle due to tragic irony or sarcasm. There are mostly lyrics about the liquefaction of identity. The clear and cultivated mind destills ideas from a well-cloaked, but not an over-adjectivized context. You never have the impression that the writer does not know what sheis saying, the she is at a loss for ideas.

  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • During the communist dictatorship, police and detectivistic literature was an amphibious species, and had to hide rather than to embrace courageous assumptions. In the multilateral developed socialism (for communism has never been reached), criminals and criminals were urgently annihilated and then exposed to public atrocities. All the strategy based on the propaganda for the ideological success, so literature remained only with crumbles. There was then a contest between the Securitate and the Capitalist Secret Services. Naturally, after some complications, the Romanian and Russian services were always victorious.
