    • Berättandet är kanske det mest ursprungliga sättet att skapa mening. Det är behovet av att konstruera en meningsfull tillvaro som driver barnet att lära sig språkliga strukturer. Med berättelser kan vi förmedla kunskap, genom att dela berättelser kan vi hålla fred. Berättelser förekommer alltid i en kulturell ram som anger vilka orsakssammanhang som är begripliga och vilka individer eller objekt som kan ingå. Om man inte känner till den ramen, då förstår man inte historien.

    • Robots interacting with other agents in rich information landscapes and complex dynamic physical environments require sophisticated and robust concept and knowledge management capabilities if they are to solve problems, communicate, learn and exhibit intelligent behaviours. In this paper we describe how conceptual spaces provide a powerful substrate upon which to build effective concept and knowledge management capabilities that integrate information from multiple sensory and symbolic sources. We use SONY AIBO robots and the robot soccer domain to illustrate our framework and approach. The conceptual spaces framework allows robots to build rich and grounded world models from a wide variety of internal and external knowledge resources, e.g. sensors, ontologies, databases, knowledge bases, the semantic Web, Web services, and other agents. Conceptual spaces provide an important and effective bridge between the perceptual level and the symbolic level by grounding sensory information to objects

    • With this contribution we analyze ancient hunting technologies as one way to explore the development of causal cognition in the hominin lineage. Building on earlier work, we separate seven grades of causal thinking. By looking at variations in force dynamics as a central element in causal cognition, we analyze the thinking required for different hunting technologies such as stabbing spears, throwing spears, launching atlatl darts, shooting arrows with a bow, and the use of poisoned arrows. Our interpretation demonstrates that there is an interplay between the extension of human body through technology and expanding our cognitive abilities to reason about causes. It adds content and dimension to the trend of including embodied cognition in evolutionary studies and in the interpretation of the archeological record. Our method could explain variation in technology sets between archaic and modern human groups.
