    • Cette intervention s’inscrit dans le domaine de la communicationhumaine et se base sur l’idée qu’esprit/cognition et corps sontintimement interdépendants. J’aborderai les points suivants, qui serontconsidérés comme corrélés.1) Le corps comme producteur de produits média. Toutecommunication commence par l’« esprit/ la conscience d’unproducteur », situé dans un corps, qui, d’une manière ou d’uneautre, génère un produit média, qui devrait être entendu commel’entité intermédiaire rendant possible une communication entreesprits.2) Le corps comme produit média. Les produits média sontnécessairement matériels d’une certaine manière, ce qui impliquequ’ils soient des entités ou des processus physiques. Ils peuventêtre des corps organiques, des entités non organiques, ou unecombinaison des deux.3) Le corps comme percevant des produits média. L’«esprit dupercevant » ne peut entrer en contact avec le produit médiad’aucune autre manière qu’à travers la perception sensorielle, quiest un phénomène éminemment corporel.4) Le corps dans l’esprit/la conscience percevant les produitsmédias. Lorsque des corps acquièrent une fonction de produitmédia, ils agissent comme signes – des « representamens » dansla terminologie de Peirce. Toutefois, des corps peuvent égalementêtre des « objets » de signification ; ils peuvent être représentés.La communication peut donc impliquer la représentation de corpset objets concrets. La communication peut également impliquerla représentation d’entités plus abstraites telles que des concepts,idées, intentions, et relations ; mais bien qu’abstraites, de tellesnotions mentales sont, dans une large mesure, ancrées dansl’expérience de nos corps interagissant avec le monde environnant.

    • Using the example of manifestos in literature and arts, this article examines the epistemological consequences of the digitisation of documentary heritage on research in the humanities. Through a comparison between paperanthologies of manifestos and the Manart database, – regarding their internal organisation, the practices they give rise to and the form of materiality they present – the article seeks to determine the underlying logic of their legitimacy and toevaluate their implications on the modalities of knowledge construction. This approach leads to the question of whether the emergence of a new digital episteme entails not only a structural redefinition of documentary archives, but also aredefinition of the disciplinary frameworks of the humanities.

  • Pratiques d’engagements collaboratifs : Le rôle de la bibliothèque dans un quartier urbain multiethnique en Suède

    • L’article discute des pratiques d’engagement et de développement de littératies menées par un réseau de bibliothèques scolaires et publique intégrées, dans un quartier urbain multiethnique en Suède. La discussion traite en particulier les modalités de collaboration avec l’école, les familles, les associations, les centres de loisirs et autres acteurs du quartier, ainsi que les stratégies mises en place pour prévenir le désengagement scolaire. Le réseau de bibliothèques combine la connexion digitale et la collaboration par communautés de pratique virtuelles, avec un caractère de fort enracinement local, exprimé par son participation dans de nombreuses activités du quartier. La continuité dans les perspectives a permis d’affiner des compétences adaptées au contexte local spécifique et incite à investir dans le long terme, alors que la continuité de personnes a permis d’approfondir les relations collaboratives. La pédagogie inclusive, avec des racines dans l’éducation populaire, focalise la collaboration et l’émancipation, tant individuelle que collective. Plusieurs des activités de la bibliothèque, comme les cercles de lecture, visent l’expression, le travail sur les émotions et la diversité culturelle. Finalement, il ressort que le soutien accordé à toutes les langues du quartier, ainsi que l’utilisation de la multimodalité, favorisent particulièrement l’engagement scolaire des élèves issus de familles migrantes.

  • Enjeux idéologiques dans Le Conte du Graal de Chrétien de Troyes

    • This dissertation aims at showing that Chrétien de Troyes' Conte du Graal does not, as often affirmed, uphold traditional chivalrous values, but discloses a problematic ideology, mostly as a result of multiple interactions at the textual level. In order to examine ideology, Le Conte du Graal is analysed in the light of the poetics elaborated by Vincent Jouve in his Poétique des valeurs (2001). Following V. Jouve's concept, two main areas are submitted to analysis. Firstly, values at the local level are considered, by discussing Perceval and Gauvain's perception, speech and adventures. Secondly, the global aspect of the novel is investigated, attention being focused on the narrator's function and overall responsibility. Analysis of the prologue shows a dynamics of values since Chrétien's patron, the Gospel and the novel are part of a circuit whose aim seems to be to shed light on the value of the novel. Our investigation of the characters perception pleads for the existence of an interaction between Perceval and the narrator, leading to both a tutoring and an evaluation of the inexperienced knight. As to Gauvain, we have shown that even though his perception is clear, he is rendered problematic as a result of the other characters' perception of him. The examination of characters speech shows the occurrence of a dichotomy. Perceval's silence in front of the Grail is argued to be the result of a paradoxical situation since he is expected to both follow and disobey chivalrous rules. The study of Perceval and Gauvain's adventures shows a feeble valorisation of action. Perceval's quest to find the answers concerning the Grail and the lance correspond to an elliptic narration, while Gauvain's adventures seem to be successful as a result of the great number of questions he asks. Even though a clear ideology is not identifiable in Le Conte du Graal, the study of the global level discloses the importance of the narrator in meddling values. A dissonance, in D. Cohn's terms, is identified between Perceval and the narrator in the Grail episode since the narrator's speech hinders our access to the young knight's own words and thus the disclosure of his values. The narrator is shown to be distant at some other regards, too. He never explains the function and the significance of the lance and of the Grail. Nor does he enlighten us regarding the meaning of Perceval's silence. A certain distance of the narrator towards himself appears since he does not assume a clear responsibility oh his own judgements towards the young knight. Despite numerous ambiguities and the distance separating us from the time of Le Conte, the novel entitles a participative attitude of the reader, who can easily get involved in the universe of the novel. Following V. Jouve's criteria, it has been shown that, regardless of frequent elements referring to the Middle Ages, Le Conte du Graal favours the creation of an illusion of reality.

  • Liberté de création littéraire ou violation de la vie privée ? : Aspects littéraires et juridiques

    • This thesis sets out to explore the clash between two rights. On the one hand the right of every person to protect his or her private life and reputation, on the other the right of an artist to create freely. Taking real people and putting them into literary works is not a recent phenomenon, but it is occurring more than ever in modern literature, just as there is a greater propensity to take novelists to court for what they write about real people. Obviously, people do not always appreciate becoming literary heroes, to see their most intimate secrets spread publicly and they themselves becoming the object of idle gossip. That is where the law intervenes, sometimes in favor of the victim, sometimes in favor of the artist, depending on the circumstances. The aim of this thesis is in the first place to proceed with a critical inventory of the current situation, including research into French law as well as court rulings regarding novelists sued by individuals who claim to have been turned into fictional characters. The research material consists therefore of legal decisions as well as of literary works. Fourteen chosen works of literature are discussed in the thesis. However, the main objective and core of the research is to propose new recommendations, inspired in particular by literary theories, which would allow for a better balance between opposing rights. This is all the more important since the French legal system has recently adopted a new law recognizing the specificity of artistic freedom, as compared to freedom of speech. Among the changes proposed is a law stating that a work presented as a novel should be treated as such by a court. Another proposed change is the implementation of the formal right of each person who feels his or her privacy has been encroached upon, to reply to the novelist, in a context provided by the publishing house. The most important improvement would be the possibility for the magistrate to call on an expert in literary theory to assist in the case. The function of the expert would be to judge if the text in question contains elements that identify it as a work of fiction, and more importantly, to assess the degree of fictionality and credibility of the character alter ego of the individual claiming to have suffered from the publication. By taking into account literary techniques, and therefore the manner in which an eventual breach in privacy occurs, the courts could then make a fairer and more readily accepted decision, or at least one more in accordance with the rule of proportionality expected in every democracy.

    • Cette contribution se propose de montrer comment la douloureuse Histoire franco-algérienne  agit à travers le corps de la narratrice dans Garçon manqué et Mes mauvaises pensées de Nina Bouraoui, deux textes d’inspiration autobiographique. Même si la protagoniste  n’a pas vécu la colonisation et la guerre d’indépendance, son corps, produit de significations culturelles et discursives (Foucault),  est le témoin du conflit franco-algérien qui se manifeste aussi bien physiquement que psychiquement sous forme d’angoisses, de phobies et d’auto­culpabili­sa­tion. Nous mettons cette autoculpabilisation en rapport avec quelque chose d’impersonnel, car hérité de l’histoire familiale dans le contexte historique. Pour se faire, nous avons recours à la lecture de Judith Butler du mythe d’Antigone ; tandis que chez Antigone la confession entraîne la condamnation de son corps, nous montrons comment l’écriture chez Bouraoui acquiert une dimension thérapeutique et évite une issue fatale.

    • This article focusses on Suzanne Césaire’s writings and activism during the Tropiques years, and her dealings with political, literary and social censorship. Aimé Césaire was one of the major literary figures of the twentieth century. A writer, politician and theorist, he was one of the founders of the literary and theoretical movement celebrating black identity and culture called Negritude. Suzanne Césaire, born Roussi, Aimé Césaire’s wife from 1937 to 1963, was one of the pioneers of Caribbean women’s and feminist literature. Along with her husband and a group of Martinican intellectuals, she co-founded the journal Tropiques, published between 1941 and 1945, when Martinique was under the control of the Vichy government. She contributed seven articles to the journal, on psychoanalysis, Surrealism, exoticism, and Caribbean identity. She also represented the Tropiques editorial board in its transactions with Vichy government censors.

  • Ressources linguistiques pour la gestion de l’intersubjectivité dans la parole en interaction : Analyses conversationnelles et phonétiques

    • This dissertation deals with conversational practices through which interactants manage issues of intersubjectivity, i.e. mutual understanding for all practical purposes. Intersubjectivity is understood in a procedural sense, and as built into the infrastructure of interaction, where each next action embodies aspects of how the previous action was understood. This understanding can be inspected by others, and amended where deemed appropriate. Largely, mutual understanding is thus taken for granted and tacitly assumed. However, at times interactants do pay overt attention to managing understandings, and this thesis focuses on three such cases. The analyses are couched in the framework of conversation analysis (CA), which aims to uncover how participants produce recognizable social actions by means of generic but flexible conversational practices. These practices draw on linguistic resources and other conduct, as well as the sequential position in which the practice is located. The approach taken in this thesis is also characterized by its attention to phonetic detail (including prosodic, articulatory and phonatory aspects of talk) as a resource for action. Each of the three empirical chapters deals with a particular phenomenon involved in managing intersubjectivity in French talk-in-interaction. The first is concerned with formulations, a way of drawing out the gist of what the interlocutor has just said. These may be used to solicit either mere or elaborate confirmations. The second investigates "ah"-prefaced other-repeats, which acknowledge receipt and claim a renewed understanding, while indexing a previous action as inadequate. The third concentrates on mere other-repeats, and demonstrates that they may either indicate a breakdown in intersubjectivity, or display uptake and thus maintained intersubjectivity. One of the main findings is that phonetic design is pivotal in specifying the action conveyed by the practices examined, and thus constitutes an integral part of the practices. The results show that the phonetic design of a turn at talk does not straightforwardly map to intersubjective meaning, but is inextricably linked to action and sequential organization.
