Future Images for Ukraine /Образи майбутнього України : Proceedings from four seminars with Ukrainian and Swedish architects during 2022-2023 / Матеріали чотирьох семінарів, присвячених стратегіям демократичної та сталої відбудови, за участю архітекторів Швеції та України
- 2024

Proceedings (redaktörskap) (populärvet., debatt m.m.)abstract
- This report presents six strategic insights into building Ukraine back better. The project “Future Images for Ukraine” has become a platform for architects representing the professional architectural associations of Ukraine and Sweden to discuss how they can collaborate to meet the needs of Ukraine. We conclude that there is strong popular support for strengthening the identity of Ukraine as a sustainable European democracy with its own characteristic identity. Architects in Sweden and Ukraine are committed to collaborating and exchanging knowledge on sustainable planning and architecture, including issues of heritage, resource efficiency and public participation in planning and design at all levels: national, regional and local. We realize that such collaboration will also require a methodology for mutual learning, access to open data and a reorganization of the practice with pilot projects in local communities to improve the local capacity to coordinate spatial planning for recovery. We see this as an exciting opportunity to meet our common future together through a better understanding of sustainability during a crisis. This constitutes a strong initial framework for developing collaboration between Ukraine and Sweden and other countries.

Kris och transformation : Nationellt möte Tillämpad Stadsbyggnad 2020
- 2021
-

On Theory and Method : Architects in Formation
- 2015
-
Proceedings (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract
- The role of the architect seems to be constantly renegotiated, due to social change, and technological development. In spite of the proliferation of architectural research, however, architectural knowledge may still be grounded in design experience and cultural values transmitted during the early years of an architect’s training. Furthermore, most scholarly studies on architectural practice and education have been focused on earlier periods, on the École des Beaux-Arts and the Bauhaus, often aimed at legitimating rather than critically examining the profession. Thus, critical studies of contemporary models of practice and education are urgently needed today, and this workshop seminar will situate the formation of architects in relation to social theories and methodologies, raised from the 1960s onwards.
