- Designing Dynamic Textile Patterns Progress in chemistry, fibres and polymers technology provides textile designers with new expressive materials, making it possible to design dynamic textile patterns, where several different expressions are inherent in the same textile, textiles that, for example, could alternate between a striped and checkered pattern. Textiles are traditionally designed and produced to keep a given, static expression during their life cycle; a striped pattern is supposed to keep its stripes. In the same way textile designers are trained to design for static expressions, where patterns and decorations are meant to last in a specific manner. However, things are changing. The textile designer now deals also with a new raw material, a dynamic textile, ready to be further designed, developed and/or programmed, depending on functional context. This transformation in practice is not an easy one for the designers. Designers need to learn how to design with these new materials and their specific qualities, to be able to develop the full expressional potential inherent in “smart textiles design”. The aim of this thesis is to display, and discuss, a methodology for designing dynamic textile patterns. So far, something that mainly has been seen in different experimental and conceptual prototypes, in artistic expressions and for commercial efforts etc. In terms of basic experimental research this thesis explores the turn in textile design practice through a series of design experiments with focus on contributing to identifying and characterizing new design variables, new design methods and new design techniques as a foundation for dynamic textile patterns.

- Certain common elements can be identified regarding teacher education development in advanced knowledge-based economies. One of these is the attempt, up until relatively recently, to develop a solid foundation of scientific professional knowledge for what Basil Bernstein called the teacher education Trivium: roughly speaking, pedagogical sciences: approximately the psychology, sociology and philosophy of education. Another more recent development is to reverse this trend through a returning emphasis on academic subjects. The present article is based on an analysis of this policy trajectory in Sweden.

- Detta dokument är framtaget som en intern rapport inom MerSam – Meritvärde av samverkansskicklighet, varsprojekttid löpt under 2017 – 2020. MerSam är ett av Vinnovas 17 finansierade K3-projekt. Rapporten utgör ensammanställning av insamlad information från dokument, dialoger, workshoppar, intervjuer och enkäter.Rapporten visar på användning av begrepp och tolkning av begrepp. Syftet är att beskriva en nulägesbild ochutifrån den samla och lyfta fram vilka begrepp som förslagsvis kan användas i projektets slutleveranser. Slutsatser och rekommendationer har tagits fram med delaktighet av hela MerSam projektet och hardiskuterats på projektmöten, projektworkshopar den 17-18 juni 2020 samt den 15 oktober 2020.

- Lärande är centralt i det mesta vi gör. Kanske särskilt under vår fritid. Den här boken handlar huvudsakligen om hur vi människor lär oss och tar samtidigt med tiden som en väsentlig faktor för lärande. Vårt sätt att förhålla oss till tid påverkar hur vi lär. Det som kallas den fria tiden skapar förutsättningar för lärande som skiljer sig från lärande inom ramen för mer styrd tid. Relaterade begrepp som informellt och formellt lärande diskuteras. Flera teorier om lärande beskrivs. Författaren använder en mängd exempel för att illustrera olika sätt att se på tid och lärande. De mest centrala delarna berör barns lärande inom fritidshem, förskola och skola, men även lärande i hemmiljö och platser där barn befinner sig på sin fritid. Boken vänder sig i första hand till lärare och andra professionella som arbetar med barn under deras fritid. Fritidshemmet diskuteras i ett eget kapitel men alla delar av boken är relevanta för fritidshemsverksamhet.

- This article reports on an empirical study of children's librarians' activities supporting the development of literacy among very young children. The theoretical framework stems primarily from a LIS practice-theoretical perspective where literacy is viewed as corporeal practice. The empirical material consists of a transcript from one focus-group interview with seven children's librarians, and field notes from a series of seven documented observations of program sessions at three public libraries in Sweden. A qualitative content analysis was undertaken, and the empirical material was interpreted with an analytical focus on the concepts of literacy activities, embodiment, and literacy practices. The study shows how bodies act as sites of information and communication. Not only the bodies of the librarians but also the bodies of parents and the children acted as central sites, affecting literacy practices during library programs. The librarians express that their engagement in professional practice has resulted in a certain bodily sense for finding the right level of communicating with babies. The librarians have also learned to trust this embodied judgement as part of their professional expertise.

- With a belief that the core of fashion is to recreate the past in perfect congruence with the present together with a photo by Stefanie to set the mood we turned to Marcel Proust for guidance. In his novel In search of lost times Proust introduces the concept of involuntary memories. The taste of the Madeleine cookie evokes Swann’s involuntary memory of things that have vanished over times. How can we through fashion evoke involuntary memories? If the garments are vanishing into transparency will that evoke our involuntary memories of bodies and dresses. If only half a lapel is appearing will that evoke our involuntary memories of coats we used to wear? Isn’t a good piece of fashion one that reminds us of the past but at the same time gives us a feeling of being totally here now? Exploring the themes of form and memory through vanishing details and fabrics. This is carried out through the cuts in detail and silhouette and through the use of prints and ausbrenner treatment of the fabrics.
