- I think the lesson is that Malthus was wrong because he took the problem of limits outside of history, outside the history that women and men make in the modern world. So the issue is not that there is no scarcity — of course, capitalism is a system that is premised on induced scarcity. That’s why markets in the capitalist era function the way that they do. So I think the mistake of the left has been in a certain reluctance to deal with the problems of scarcity, or in some cases back into an embrace of a neo-Malthusian scarcity mentality in which there are these “natural limits” that are outside of how capitalism functions historically as an ecological regime.

- This article mainly focuses on projects-as-practice based in the social sciences, and it suggests that the situated practice side of a social phenomenon is also important as a basis of study for understanding what is done. While the study is empirical, it focuses on the actions and actors involved in building or organizing environments, rather than simply looking at aggregated social processes or structures. With this approach, projects are seen as the sum of the actions of the people involved, which emphasizes both how people involved in projects act and how their typical workdays are structured. This may shed light on areas such as the importance of project management practice for strategic organizational change or the improvisation that is necessary for project execution.

Studien fokuserar på medias struktur inom den arbetsmarknadsregion som kan komma att utvecklas mellan Umeå och Örnsköldsvik, när Botniabanan invigs. Mer specifikt studeras hur länsgränsen mellan Västerbotten och Västernorrland, som en mental barriär för flöden i regionen, påverkar individernas mentala kartor.

- This chapter addresses the concept of corporate citizenship (CC) which has gained increasing attention both in society in general and in academic circles. Based on a review of the concepts of corporate social responsibility and CC we argue that the debate on CC has been developed in a promising way the last few years. Although the extended view of CC, which views corporations as administering citizenship rights, is a theoretical advancement there is also an apparent lack of focus on individual citizens in order to understand responsibility-taking in society overall. We address this problem by introducing the notion of political consumerism and citizen consumers into the CC conceptualization. By analyzing the responsibilities of both corporations and citizens the possibility of achieving a sustainable future is increased. From this line of arguing we develop a conceptual model, called the CC-matrix, in which we describe the consumer inclusion into the academic CC debate. Thereafter, we discuss the model in depth and present some ideas for future research into corporate and consumer responsibilities for sustainability.
