1. This volume contains an overview of all the presentations.

Intelligent CALL, granular systems and learner data: short papers from EUROCALL 2022 2022 Proceedings (redaktörskap) (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract The 2022 EUROCALL conference was held in Reykjavik on 17-19 August 2022 as a fully online event hosted by the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute for Foreign Languages, the University of Iceland, and the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. The conference theme was Intelligent CALL, granular systems and learner data. This theme reflects the newest developments in the field of technology for language learning. Subfields such as natural language processing and machine learning not only enable smoother spoken and written communication between human learners and computers, but also offer ways in which language learning can be tailored to the needs of individual learners. By adding components of automatic speech recognition, text-to-speech systems, automatic feedback mechanisms, and tracking systems monitoring learners’ progress and their use of tools, applications are becoming better targeted. All of this is used to optimise the learning experience of individual learners. This volume includes 66 short papers by some of the EUROCALL 2022 presenters and it offers a combination of research studies and theoretical papers reflecting the subthemes of the conference. The articles are ordered alphabetically.

Proceedings of the 16th Student Conference in Interaction Technology and Design and the 5th Student Conference in Electronics and Mechatronics 2019 Proceedings (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract The joint Student Conference in Interaction Technology and Design and Student Conference in Electronics and Mechatronics is the annual grand finale of the courses Current Topic in Interaction Technology and Design and Student Conference in Electronics and Mechatronics at the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics, Umeå University. The idea and objective of the two courses are to give the students a forum where they can actively participate in scientific research and development through their own ideas and interests. The course introduces students to independently researching an interesting topic, using a foreign language orally and in writing, writing a scientific article, peer-review and presenting their work at a conference. The conference format was chosen to provide a realistic environment for the presentation of the results. The work has been reviewed both by other participant on the course and members of the department. If the reviews are favorable, the paper is accepted as a full paper at the conference and included in the proceedings. Research that has an interesting topic and potential for future publication is presented as work-in-progress at the conference and the abstract is included in the conference proceedings. This year 10 full papers and 2 work-in-progress papers were accepted at the conference and all included in this proceedings as full papers and extended abstracts, respectively.

ICIDS is the premier conference for researchers and practitioners concerned with studying digital interactive forms of narrative from avariety of perspectives, including theoretical, technological, and applied design lenses.The annual conference is an interdisciplinary gathering that combines technology focused approaches with humanities-inspired theoretical inquiry, empirical research, and artistic expression. This year’s conference was built around the central theme of ‘Speculative Horizons’. With this theme we were motivated to consider the future and its relationship to interactive digital storytelling.
