- A kinematic approach to the geometric phase for mixed quantal states in nonunitary evolution is proposed. This phase is manifestly gauge invariant and can be experimentally tested in interferometry. It leads to well-known results when the evolution is unitary.

- We report the antiferromagnetic (AFM) interlayer exchange coupling between Ga0.97Mn0.03As ferromagnetic semiconductor layers separated by Be-doped GaAs spacers. Polarized neutron reflectivity reveals a characteristic splitting at the wave vector corresponding to twice the multilayer period, indicating that the coupling between the ferromagnetic layers is AFM. When the applied field is increased to above the saturation field, this AFM coupling is suppressed. This behavior is not observed when the spacers are undoped, suggesting that the observed AFM coupling is mediated by doped charge carriers. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

- The N2 1sB 2 Xd dispersed fluorescence from photon excited N2 molecules has been measured in the 19–34 eV excitation range, where our theory predicts the existence of non-Rydberg doubly excited resonances which autoionize in the sub-fs regime into the N2 1 B2S1u ionic state. The experimentally deduced vibrational branching ratios sy0 1dysy0 0d revealed five prominent features, four of which could be identified as such doubly excited resonances based on the lowest order of the many-body perturbation theory. - The process of magnetization reversal in ferromagnetic Ga(1-x)MnxAs epilayers has been systematically investigated using the planar Hall effect (PHE). Interestingly, we have observed a pronounced asymmetry in the PHE hysteresis when the range of the field scan is restricted to fields below the final magnetization transition. The observed behavior indicates that (a)A multidomain structures are formed as M undergoes a reorientation, (b) the domain landscape formed in this way remains stable even after the magnetic field is switched off, and (c) the reorientation of magnetization directions corresponding to the transition points in PHE takes place separately within each domain. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

- A search for the narrow structure, X(5568), reported by the D0 Collaboration in the decay sequence X→Bs0π±, Bs0→J/ψφ, is presented. The analysis is based on a data sample recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC corresponding to 4.9 fb-1 of pp collisions at 7 TeV and 19.5 fb-1 at 8 TeV. No significant signal was found. Upper limits on the number of signal events, with properties corresponding to those reported by D0, and on the X production rate relative to Bs0 mesons, ρX, were determined at 95% confidence level. Such processes are searched for in final states with missing transverse momentum and a Higgs boson decaying to a bb pair with the ATLAS detector using 36.1 fb-1 of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the LHC. - A measurement of the mass of the Higgs boson combining the H→ZZ∗→4ℓ and H→γγ decay channels is presented. The result is based on 140 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC run 2 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV combined with the run 1 ATLAS mass measurement, performed at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding a Higgs boson mass of 125.11±0.09(stat)±0.06(syst)=125.11±0.11 GeV. This corresponds to a 0.09% precision achieved on this fundamental parameter of the Standard Model of particle physics.
