  • Stödverksamhet för barn som förlorat en förälder : En litteraturstudie
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Vård i Norden. - : SAGE Publications. - 0107-4083 .- 1890-4238. ; 24:4, s. 41-44
  • Forskningsöversikt (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The aim with this literature review was to describe content, objectives, design, and outcomes of support groups for parentally bereaved children three to twelve years of age. In a support group with children in similar situation the children's thoughts, experiences and feelings will be normalised through different activities. Pedagogical methods include creative activities of different kinds, e.g. painting, writing letters and poems, reading stories, play and games. The purposes of the methods are to accept and understand the reality of the loss, to understand and work through the grieving, to enhance family communication, and to keep the memory of the death and go on living. Organisation and structure are described in relation to development levels and ages of children and youths. Outcomes of groups are characterized by clinical observations and a dearth of evaluative studies. All bereaved children should have the opportunity to participate in a support group when a parent, sibling or other relative dies. Well developed services for bereaved children should be a matter of health care policy and quality.

  • The Health Needs of Gay Men with an Emphasis on the Psychosocial Needs : A Discussion of Literature, Using the VIPS Model
  • 1998
  • Ingår i: Vård i Norden. - : SAGE Publications. - 0107-4083 .- 1890-4238. ; 18:3, s. 58-63
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The aim of the study was to find areas that were important to highlight when collecting data for the nursing history and the nursing status of the gay male patient, with an emphasis on psychosocial issues. Literature was searched in the data-bases Psyc-Lit and CINAHL, and the results were presented using the VIPS model (Ehrenberg, Ehnfors, Thorell-Ekstrand 1996). Areas that need to be out in focus were: the coming out process, sexual behaviour and safer sex, lifestyle and significant other(s). To discuss issues related to sexuality is difficult both to patients and nurses, but could be relieved using the PLISSIT model (Annon 1977). When informing on safer sex, one must bear in mind the lifestyles like »the chosen family« (Henriksson 1995) and open relations. But also the »symbolic meaning« given to the unprotected anal intercourse by some, and where the cessation of the use of condoms symbolises trust and love, and that the relationship is for real-»risk factor love« (Henriksson 1995, Linder 1996).

  • Towards basic nursing information in patient records
  • 1991
  • Ingår i: Vård i Norden. - : SAGE Publications. - 0107-4083 .- 1890-4238. ; 11:3-4, s. 12-31
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Four key concepts for good nursing care and a list of key words for nursing documentation in patient records were established and to some extent tried in clinical practice in Sweden. The method consisted of the following steps: extensive literature review, review of nursing records, development of a list of key words on two levels, a first level corresponding to the nursing process, and a second level consisting of subdivisions for possible use in practice, use and assessment in clinical practice by nurses and students, expert panel judgement and refinement of the key words including an examination of semantic accuracy of the Swedish key words by an expert in Nordic languages. The proposed key words are presented both in English and Swedish and explanations, comments and references are given. The version of key words presented here is subject to further testing for possible modifications.

  • Aktuellt kunskapsläge om spädbarnsmassage : systematisk litteraturöversikt 2006-2011
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Vård i Norden. - : Sykepleiernes Samarbeid i Norden. - 0107-4083. ; 32:4, s. 29-33
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Aim: Reviewing the scientific literature 2006-2011 on infant massage. Background: The study is a follow-up of a literature review of studies on infant massage published 1995-2005, in which it was shown that infant massage has a favorable effect on weight gain, health, sleep and behavioral development in infants and on parental-infant interaction. Methods: A computer-aided search utilizing the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Pubmed and CINAHL was conducted in January 2012, the MeSH term «infant massage», limited to clinical controlled trials (CCT) for infants aged 0-23 months, being employed. Findings: A total of 29 articles were found, concerning 1670 children altogether who satisfied the inclusion criteria, 18 of the studies concerning preterm infants. Results in five different areas are taken up: weight gain (n=8), analgesia (n=5), health (n=5), behavioral development (n=7) and depression prevention in mothers (4). Conclusions: No harmful effects of infant massage were reported. It was found to have positive effects on children's growth, health and behavioral development, and to have beneficial effects on the mothers' psychological well-being when they gave their children massage. It is concluded that parental education in infant massage is a cost-effective and health promoting measure.

  • Arbetsmodeller som säkrar sjuksköterskekompetensen-en systematisk litteratursammanställning
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Vård i Norden. - : Sjuksköterskors samarbete i Norden, SSN. - 0107-4083 .- 1890-4238. ; 29:2, s. 44-47
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Swedish healthcare system is organized in a way that all nurses despite formal competence and experience have the same responsibilities. A newly graduated nurse has the same work-load and responsibility in patient care as the experienced nurse. newly graduated nurses need supervision by clinical experts in the process of developing skills, but also to reduce risks that exists when their authority is above their skills and level of experience. The aim was to identify existing organizational models were the nurses´work has been formalized according to their level of competence and experince in order to improve patient safety and patient satisfaction. A search with a systematic approach in CINAHL, The Cochrane Library and MedLine was performed. A total of 397 studies were identified and 31 articles were screened in full text. Finally three articles , which are insufficient with regards to issue recommendations, presented common factors as models that focus on experienced nurses´competence and the organization of patient care. The research regarding models of organization that secure nursing competence in patient care, how it is utilized and, it´s effect on patient care is insufficient. there is a need for extensive research examining this relation at ward level.
