- 2010
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : RSC Publishing. - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; 46:19, s. 3384-3386
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Addition of Grignard reagents to pyridine N-oxides in THF at low temperature (-78 to -20 °C) and treatment with TFAA provides an efficient general procedure for synthesis of substituted pyridines. The method is compatible with a range of functional groups such as esters, halogens and nitriles.

Spin transition in a ferrous chloride complex supported by a pentapyridine ligand
- 2020
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : Royal Society of Chemistry. - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; 56:18, s. 2703-2706
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Ferrous chloride complexes [FeIILxCl] commonly attain a high-spin state independently of the supporting ligand(s) and temperature. Herein, we present the first report of a complete spin crossover with T1/2 = 80 K in [FeII(Py5OH)Cl]+ (Py5OH = pyridine-2,6-diylbis[di(pyridin-2-yl)methanol]). Both spin forms of the complex are analyzed by X-ray spectroscopy and DFT calculations.

Energy transfer cassettes based on BODIPY® dyes
- 2000
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; :2203-4
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The donor–acceptor dye cassettes 1–4 were designed to capture energy at a single wavelength and to convert it to well-resolved, intense fluorescence emissions; in practice, Stokes shifts of 40–148 nm, quantum yields of 0.12–0.60, and efficient energy transfer was demonstrated.

Unravelling the cellular emission fingerprint of the benchmark G-quadruplex-interactive compound Phen-DC3
- 2020
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : Royal Society of Chemistry. - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; 56:91, s. 14251-14254
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Phen-DC3 is among the most commonly used G-quadruplex (G4)-stabilizers in vitro and in cells. Here, we show that the G4-interactive binding interactions enable one to tune the optical properties of Phen-DC3 allowing the detection of G4 structures in cancer cells. This work opens up new directions for the use of Phen-DC3 as a selective G4 fluorescent reporter.

Determination of hydrogen concentration in ionic liquids and the effect (or lack of) on rates of hydrogenation
- 2003
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; :19, s. 2418-2419
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The solubility of hydrogen and the corresponding Henry coefficients for 11 ionic liquids have been determined in situ at 100 atm H(2) pressure and are much lower than expected; attempts to correlate the solubility of hydrogen in the ionic liquids with the rate of reaction for the hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexane in these solvents have been made.

-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - Cambridge : Royal Society of Chemistry. - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; 50:2, s. 231-233
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The supra-molecular structure of LPS aggregates governs outer membrane permeability and activation of the host immune response during Gram-negative bacterial infections. Molecular dynamics simulations unveil at atomic resolution the subtle balance between cation hydration and cross-linking ability in modulating phase transitions of LPS membranes.

Hydrogen storage in high surface area graphene scaffolds
- 2015
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : Royal Society of Chemistry. - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; 51:83, s. 15280-15283
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Using an optimized KOH activation procedure we prepared highly porous graphene scaffold materials with SSA values up to 3400 m2 g−1 and a pore volume up to 2.2 cm3 g−1, which are among the highest for carbon materials. Hydrogen uptake of activated graphene samples was evaluated in a broad temperature interval (77–296 K). After additional activation by hydrogen annealing the maximal excess H2 uptake of 7.5 wt% was obtained at 77 K. A hydrogen storage value as high as 4 wt% was observed already at 193 K (120 bar H2), a temperature of solid CO2, which can be easily maintained using common industrial refrigeration methods.

Cobalt- doped hematite thin films for electrocatalytic water oxidation in highly acidic media
- 2019
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : The Royal Society of Chemistry. - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; 55:34, s. 5017-5020
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Earth-abundant cobalt-doped hematite thin-film electrocatalysts were explored for acidic water oxidation. The strategically doped hematite produced a stable geometric current density of 10 mA cm(-2) for up to 50 h at pH 0.3, as a result of Co-enhanced intrinsic catalytic activity and charge transport properties across the film matrix.

Carbon monoxide solubility in ionic liquids : determination, prediction and relevance to hydroformylation
- 2004
-
Ingår i: Chemical Communications. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 1359-7345 .- 1364-548X. ; :9, s. 1070-1071
-
Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The solubility of carbon monoxide in 37 ionic liquids and in some organic solvents has been determined using high-pressure (13)C NMR spectroscopy; a method for predicting the CO solubility is demonstrated, and it was shown that the rate of the hydroformylation of 5-hexen-2-one does not correlate with the CO solubility, as expected from the determined relative solubility of CO compared to H(2).
