  • Optical activity in racemic chromium(III) tartrate solution induced by circularly polarized irradiation
  • 1977
  • Ingår i: Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry Letters. - : Elsevier BV. - 0020-1650. ; 13:8, s. 355-362
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Alkaline solutions of Cr(III) in racemic tartrate (=RS-T) become optically active when irradiated with circularly polarized light. This is assigned to the photo-inversions Λ-Cr (R-T)3X− → Δ-Cr(R-T)3X− and Δ-Cr(S-T)3X− → Λ-Cr(S-T)3X−, but ligand substitutions such as Cr(R-T)3 → Cr(R-T)2S-T, may occur as well. In the dark the activity slowly (k ca. 2 × 10−5 s−1) decays back to zero.

  • Evaluating the greenhouse gas impact from biomass gasification systems in industrial clusters – methodology and examples
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of World Renewable Energy Congress. - : Linköping University Electronic Press. - 1650-3686. - 9789173930703 ; 12:057, s. 3098-3105
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Biomass gasification is identified as one of the key technologies for producing biofuels for the transport sector and can also produce many other types of products. Biomass gasification systems are large-scale industrial systems and it is important to evaluate such systems from economic, environmental and synergetic perspectives before implementation. The objective of this study is to define a methodology for evaluating the greenhouse gas (GHG) impact of different biomass gasification systems and to exemplify the methodology. The ultimate purpose of the methodology is to evaluate the GHG performance of different biomass gasification systems integrated in industrial clusters. A life cycle perspective is applied. Most biomass gasification systems are multiproduct systems, simultaneously producing biofuels, heat at different temperatures and pressures and electricity. The value, in economic terms and in terms of GHG emissions, is well defined for some products (e.g. biofuels), whereas for other products (such as heat and electricity) it is more uncertain and in some cases dependent on time and location.

  • Using an adaptive FEM to determine the optimal control of a vehicle during a collision avoidance manoeuvre
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Linköping Universtity Electronic Press. - 1650-3740. ; 27:15
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The optimal manoeuvering of a vehicle during a collision avoidance manoeuvre is investigated. A basic model where the vehicle is modelled by a mass-particle and the mathematical formulation of the optimal manoeuvre are presented. The resulting two-point boundary problem is solved by an adaptive finite element method and the theory behind this method is described.

  • Patients’ Experiences of Self-Administered Electrotherapy for Spasticity in Stroke and Cerebral Palsy: A Qualitative Study
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine. - : Medical Journals Sweden AB. - 1650-1977 .- 1651-2081. ; 54, s. jrm00263-jrm00263
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Objective: To explore patients’ experiences of a self-administered electrotherapy treatment for muscle spasticity in cerebral palsy and stroke; the Exopulse Mollii Suit®. Design: Qualitative design with an inductive approach Subjects: Fifteen patients with spasticity due to stroke or cerebral palsy, participating in a previous randomized controlled trial evaluating the treatment concept. Methods: Information letters were sent to all potential participants (n = 27) in the previous study. Semi-structured interviews (21–57 min) were carried out with all subjects who volunteered (n = 15), administered by an experienced interviewer who was not involved in the previous study. Transcribed interviews were subject to content analysis. Results: The 5 categories that emerged from the content analysis were “New method gives hope”, experiences related to “Using the assistive technology”, “Outcome from training with the assistive technology”, “The assistive technology” and “Taking part in the study”. Respondents felt hopeful when included in the previous study, motivated when experiencing a treatment effect, and disappointed when not. Conclusion: The qualitative approach used in this study elicited complementary information that was not evident from the previous randomized controlled trial. This included statements regarding increased mobility, reduced spasticity, reduced use of medication, and problems related to using the treatment concept.
