  • Evaluation on Safety Benefits of Mining Industry Occupational Health and Safety Management System Based on DEA Model and Grey Relational Analysis
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Engineering and Technology. - : International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology Press. - 1793-8236 .- 1793-8244. ; 10, s. 82-88
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The mining industry safety production situation is becoming more and more severe in China with safety accidents occurring frequently, which is closely related to insufficient safety investments and unreasonable distribution. Additionally, it does not keep in line with the main purpose of occupation health and safety management system (OHSAS18001).In order to carry on the reasonable scientific disposition to the safety investments of the mining industry, increase safety investments efficiency and satisfy the requirements of OHSAS18001, data envelopment analysis (DEA) is adopted to calculate the safety investments, loss and output. Firstly, the analysis software MYDEA of DEA is used to calculate the results to obtain the evaluation result of safety benefits. Secondly, the target value of the improvement work in the aspect of investment is achieved by method of projection analysis when the decision making unit (DMUj0) of non DEA efficiency is changed into DEA efficiency. Lastly, it can be obtained on the basis of grey relational analysis (GM) that the investment amount of safety management and training of employees has the highest relation on the effective safety benefits of the mining industry. Thus, the investment of safety management and training of employees should be strengthened. This kind of empirical method of comprehensive model provides a direction and theoretical reference for safety investments benefits analysis and optimized investment structure, and a structure for the effective operation of mining industry occupational health and safety management system

  • A Survey of Quality Measurements in Product Development
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Engineering and Technology. - 1793-8236 .- 1793-8244. ; 4:3, s. 258-264
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • There is a lack of definitions of clear quality measurements within existing product development literature. Several literature sources that mention measurements in product development base their attitude on the triple constraints division into time, costs and functionality/quality. This article summarizes proposed literature definitions of what to include within quality measurements in product development. The article also proposes a statement of different existing viewpoints of quality measurements within some organization’s development process.

  • Research on the Sustainable Development of Mining Industry OHSAS18001 Based on IFE and EFE Matrix
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Engineering and Technology. - : IACSIT International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology Press. - 1793-8236 .- 1793-8244. ; 9:6, s. 485-491
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The sustainable development of mining occupational health and safety management system is inseparable from its internal and external environment. Through IFE and EFE matrix models, the key internal and external factors affecting the sustainable development of some mining in the Southwest of the Hubei Province are analyzed. Then entropy method is adopted to determine the weight of each key factor. According to the weighted total score ranking, the most important internal and external key factors affecting China's sustainable development include the following: not enough detailed degree of hazard identification, not enough safety awareness, lack of contingency plans to assess the timely exercise, not enough deep mining of internal audit, impact of relevant laws and regulations on enterprises, impact of the interested parties on the changing requirements of the enterprise, risk management brought by interested parties, risk management of product life cycle, and changes in the market environment for enterprises to put forward new requirements. In this paper, combined with OHSAS18001 operation condition of the mining in the Southwest of Hubei Province, seven suggestions for improvement are put forward which provide valuable reference for the sustainable development of mining OHSAS18001.

  • A comparative study of the environmental impact from transportation of prefabricated building elements using wood or concrete
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Engineering and Technology. - Eskişehir : Anadolu University. - 1793-8236 .- 1793-8244. ; 11:3, s. 154-161
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As many as 240 of Sweden's 290 municipalities estimated that there existed a housing shortage within their region. Therefore, many homes are required to be built in a relatively short period to fulfil the demand.  Production is required to take into consideration sustainable building solutions to reduce climate impact. Hence, logistics must become more efficient to contribute to an environmental solution, and the use of transports should be examined reducing the effect of heavy vehicles to meet the climate objectives. The focus of this study is to identify differences between the transportation of materials for building projects based on wood or concrete. Different key performance indicators were derived from the collected data and presented in this study, which resulted in two formulas focusing on transport- and environmental impact. The KPI’s indicates that the weight of the load does not have an important impact on the amount of emitted CO2, but it is the number of transports associated with the projects that are the main problem regarding emissions and environmental impact. Hence, the number of transports and the amount of CO2 emissions can be calculated by the support of the formulas derived from this study.

  • Market development barriers for the Swedish wooden multi-family house industry
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Engineering and Technology. - Eskişehir : Anadolu University. - 1793-8236 .- 1793-8244. ; 11:3, s. 187-195
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Swedish industry for wooden multi-family houses have in comparison with houses in concrete had a relatively small market share. This contradicts EU’s ambitions defined in the Europe 2020 strategy, focusing on development towards innovation, bio-economy and sustainability. These strategies highlight the importance of developing the wooden multi-family houses industry to fulfil the increased market demand combined with increased sustainability in the building industry. This study aims to identify barriers enabling market growth for the Swedish industry producing wooden multi-family houses. Current barriers within the industry are reviewed by identifying areas restricting the development, e.g. the building process and procurement cycle. Thus, the goal is to find ways in which wooden multi-family houses could improve competitiveness compared to established solutions and increase its market share. The study was conducted with representatives from municipalities, developers, contractors, architects and real estate companies providing insights on new strategic possibilities in the building process. The result identifies different barriers that exist in various stages of the value chain, from procurement to construction. Furthermore, it indicates that wooden multi-family houses could be a competitive solution by developing new strategies, mitigating the identified market barriers facilitating growth towards sustainable building solutions. These instructions give you basic guidelines for preparing camera-ready papers.

  • Drive Advisory System: Do Swedish and Chinese Drivers Appreciate it in the Same Way?
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Engineering and Technology. - 1793-8236. ; 8:4, s. 286-292
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents a cross-regional study thatexamined the difference on drivers’ preference and behaviors when driving with driver advisory systems between Swedish and Chinese drivers. A drive simulator study was conducted in both countries. Two interfaces were proposed: Design 1 presents directional information; Design 2 combines directional and road user icons. The results showed Swedish drivers perceived a higher acceptance score of the systems than Chinese drivers. Swedish and Chinese drivers expressed different information needs on different regions around the car. When driving with design 2, Swedish and Chinese reduced the number of collisions by 13% and 18% respectively, compared with driving without any system. The brake-to-minimum TTC proved that Swedish and Chinese drivers utilized the systems differently. These findings indicate drivers' preferences and strategies towards advisory systems are highly culturally mediated, and adaptive design for different drivers is highly recommended.
