- La autenticidad en la práctica. Ejemplos desde ocho sitios con arte rupestre clasificados como patrimonio mundial Durante la última década la Carta de Ename ha reavivado las discusiones sobre la posición de las instituciones responsables de la administración del patrimonio cultural en relación con el uso del concepto de autenticidad en los materiales, y a la participación más activa de la sociedad civil en los sitios clasificados como patrimonio mundial. A pesar de que dicho documento representa un avance significativo en lo que respecta a la modernización de la idea de autenticidad y a la relación patrimonio-espectador- especialistas, el propósito de este artículo es exponer las limitaciones y dificultades prácticas de los avances teóricos de dicha carta. Se presenta un análisis del concepto de autenticidad a través del estudio de la “puesta en escena” y la comunicación pública en ocho sitios con arte rupestre, de diferentes partes del mundo, catalogados como Patrimonio Mundial. El texto revisa la idea de autenticidad que se utiliza en dichos sitios, el poder de las entidades responsables de ellos y cómo el concepto de autenticidad se encarna en cada uno dependiendo de la posición adoptada por las entidades que lo administran. Examples from eight rock art sites classified as World Heritage During the last decade the Ename Charter has vitalized the discussions of cultural heritage management concerning stakeholder participation and a more active public involvement, as well as concerning the issue of the authenticity at heritage sites. Despite the fact that the charter represents important developments and modernizations of the concept of authenticity, and the relation between cultural heritage–public–experts, the paper highlights the practical limitations and difficulties of the theoretical developments in the charter. The paper presents an analysis of the concept of authenticity through a study of the staging and the public communication at eight World Heritage classified rock art sites from different parts of the world. The paper analyses the idea of authenticity that is used at these heritage sites, the power of the heritage management responsible for them and how the concept of authenticity are materialized at the sites due to the attitude of the heritage managers. - This article present the reader with an overview of a contemporary archaeology project approaching the “Missile Crisis” (1962), and more specifically the former Soviet nuclear missile base at Santa Cruz de los Pinos, Cuba. The project is a cooperation between Swedish and Cuban historians, anthropologists and archaeologists and it shows that it is possible to complement the meta-narrative of the crisis with material and immaterial remains and memories in a manner where the crisis is approached and explained “from below”. The project has also developed into to a study of how the cultural heritage of the former missile base at Santa Cruz de los Pinos can be used by the local museum in San Cristóbal to foster a sustainable development at the local level since the public in various ways are invited to participate in the development of this cultural heritage.
