- The Sea of Chronicles is an English translation of the ninth and tenth chapters of the historiographical work entitled Muḥīṭ al-tavārīkh by Muḥammad Amīn b. Mīrzā Muḥammad Zamān Bukhārī. The work is a valuable source in particular for the study of the late seventeenth-century Central Asian political, cultural and religious history.The ninth chapter offers accounts of the Timurid, Abulkhayrid/Shaybanid and the first four Ashtarkhanid khans. The tenth chapter which is the most original and important chapter of the work presents a detailed account of the life and time of the last great Ashtarkhanid ruler, Subḥān Qulī Khān (r. 1682–1702), revealing historical information essential for the study of the period and region.

- This book deals with folk narratives expressing some of the basic fears of ancient Roman culture. These included, on the one hand, threats to the survival of the family, especially concerning children, pregnant women and to some extent also young men, and, on the other hand, the hidden dangers of the urban environment, especially places such as sewers, cemetaries, crossroads, inns and harbours.Human existence was precarious in many ways in antiquity: success could swiftly turn into misfortune, health into illness and death, with disastrous consequences for the most important social network in this era, the family. These misfortunes could be difficult to cope with, and adversity, calamity and death had to be made intelligible emotionally. By verbalising fear – in the form of stories of demons, witches, ghosts and wild animals – it could be endowed with a concrete shape.The argument of this book proceeds from the assumption that the act of narrating stories helps us to make sense of our lives and the world we live in. In narrative, we articulate our emotions, thoughts and opinions, voice our hopes and desires, our anxieties and fears. The therapeutic power of stories lies in their ability to provide a space for reflection on the difficulties and anxieties in life.The concept of emotional topography is introduced as an analytical tool in studying the relation between space, emotions and time. Certain places were associated with one range of emotions during the day and another at night, such as a cemetary, which at night evoked dread and disgust. Other places, such as for example inns, could evoke a sense of unease regardless of the time of day; they were places where horrendous things might take place, where you risked encountering everything from murderous inn-keepers to werewolves.

- Vorliegende Abhandlung befasst sich mit den mündlichen Erzähltraditionen der Pite- und Umesaamen. Grundlage der Untersuchung bilden vor allem Aufzeichnungen aus den 1930er Jahren. Sie geben gleichsam ein synchrones Bild ab, dem aber eine zeitliche Tiefe verliehen wird, indem auch ältere Materialien berücksichtigt werden, die bis in die erste Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts zurückreichen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Sagen, die den einzelnen Genres gemäß detailliert behandelt werden, wobei ein besonderes Augenmerk darauf ruht, was der berg- und der waldsaamischen Überlieferung gemeinsam ist und was sie unterscheidet. Die einzelnen Typen der Sagen – sowie auch der deutlich weniger überlieferten Märchen – werden in die gesamtsaamische Tradition eingebettet.

It compares al-Junayd's thought with the thought of other important Sufis and seeks to correct the kind of understanding in scholarship that reflects on the Sufi tradition in terms of division and discontinuity between the earlier and the later Sufi thinkers.

- I denna bok behandlas regler rörande arrende, bostadsrätt, hyra, tomträtt samt vissa andra nyttjanderätter till fast egendom. Oberoende av vilken nyttjanderätt som är ifråga är intressekonflikterna mellan parterna ofta av liknande karaktär, vilket motiverar att tonvikten i framställningen lagts på en avtalstyp - hyra. Hyresreglerna har i lagstiftningsarbetet tjänat som utgångspunkt för många av reglerna avseende arrende och bostadsrätt; rörande vissa problem är reglerna identiska. I redogörelsen för övriga avtalstyper hänvisas löpande till hyresavsnittet.I första hand berör boken relationen mellan fastighetsägare och nyttjanderättshavare, men i viss mån även hur en nyttjanderätt står sig i förhållande till tredje man, till exempel vid överlåtelse av fastighet. Vidare behandlas regler om överlåtelse av bostadsrätt.Boken är avsedd att vara kursbok men kan även ge vägledning för den som yrkesmässigt eller privat har frågor om nyttjanderätt.
