  • Exercise for Neurodegeneration-Related Disorders
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Journal of Cronic Diseases and Management. - 2573-1300. ; 1:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Neurodenerative processes associated with ageing or retarded normal neurodevelopment compromise several domains of health, well-being and the functional capacity of individuals, particularly those of advanced age. Physical exercise has provided a plethora of improvements in functional capacity, neurocognitive ability, neuroaffective status and brain plasticity. Despite all these achievements, further effort requires to be invested in order to challenge one current conviction that there exist no effective treatments, or even a paucity, of intervention, e.g. exercise, available to retard or hinder or reverse the Neurodegeneration processes afflicting the diseased brain.

  • Consultants’ versus Managers’ - Perceptions of a Group Development Intervention Program
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Clinical and Experimental Psychology. - : OMICS Publishing Group. - 2471-2701. ; 2:3
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The present study examines a large scale intervention program within the manufacturing industry with the purpose of improving cooperation and health among both management and production teams. Altogether 31 management teams and 132 production teams, comprising 1596 individuals, participated in this intervention program. All the management teams were assigned a budget of nine hours of consultation-time each, plus a GDQ-measurement before and at the termination of the project. There were six meetings during the project and each meeting lasted one and a half hours. Four groups met concurrently, in the same room together with the two consultants. The present results target the issue of consultants’ and managers’ perceptions of the intervention process, but not the outcomes or the result of the intervention performed. Interviews were carried out with the two consultants who conducted the whole intervention and ten of the top managers who participated in the intervention. The interviews focused upon critical aspects associated with either success or failure before, during and after the intervention program. Content analyses were performed for consultant and managers separately, in order to extract themes describing their views of the intervention process. Similarities and differences between consultants’ and managers’ perceptions of the process are discussed.

  • Teacher Team Effectiveness and Teachers Well-being
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Clinical and Experimental Psychology. - : OMICS Publishing Group. - 2471-2701. ; 2:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between how teachers rate the effectiveness of their ‘teacher-teams’ as well as the experience of their own well-being. Team effectiveness was measured using the Group Development Questionnaire and well-being was assessed through responses on scales derived for estimating emotional exhaustion and work satisfaction. Data were collected from 521 Swedish teachers and preschool teachers belonging to 105 teacher-teams, the response rate was 100%. The results indicate a strong relationship between the effectiveness of the teacher-teams and teachers’ well-being, both with regard to levels of emotional exhaustion and work satisfaction. More effective teamwork was associated with lower levels of emotional exhaustion and higher levels of work satisfaction. The practical implications of these observations are discussed with regard to future research.

  • The Effect of Teambuilding on Team Development: A Quasi-Experiment within a Swedish State Authority
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Clinical and Experimental Psychology. - : OMICS Publishing Group. - 2471-2701. ; 3:3, s. 1-6
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The effect of teambuilding on team development was studied with a quasi-experimental design by evaluating consultants’ teambuilding interventions in 20 experimental groups within a Swedish state authority. These were compared to 22 control groups that did not receive an intervention. Team development was assessed through pre- and post-test with the “Group Development Questionnaire” (GDQ). Results indicated that experimental groupshad significant higher values on scale IV in the GDQ in the post-test compared to control groups. There were no significant differences between experimental and control groups on GDQ scale I-III across time. The results indicate that teambuilding contributes to team development and encourages to further research with regard to “real life” work groups.
