  • Fungerar konkurrensen på marknaden för slaktdjur?
  • 2015

  • Real-time dynamic relinking
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: IPDPS Miami 2008 - Proceedings of the 22nd IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, Program and CD-ROM. - 9781424416943 ; , s. Article number 4536570-
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper we present a method for automatically, on demand, linking entire functions into statically linked running embedded multi-tasking real-time applications. The purpose is to facilitate dynamic instrumentation of deployed systems. The method makes it possible to dynamically instrument the target in run-time, without preparing the source code. Code segments that are modified are substituted on the function level by the introduction of a dynamic relink method. The actual modification of the execution binary is performed in a safe and controlled manner by a low interference task. An algorithm is introduced for reusing memory from obsolete functions.

  • Tool qualification for safety related systems
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Ada User Journal. - 1381-6551. ; 35, s. 47-54
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Tools used in the development of safety related software applications need to be qualified as safe. That is, the tools cannot be allowed to introduce hazardous faults into the application, e.g., a compiler shall not generate dangerous code due to failure of the compiler. In many cases laws and regulations require the product development of safety related applications to comply with industry sector specific safety standards. Examples of such standards include EN50129/50128 for railway applications, ISO/EN13849 for machines with moving parts, DO-178B/C for avionics, or IS026262 for cars. These standards require the use of a rigorous development and maintenance process. The standards are also mainly intended to be used when developing systems from scratch. However, most development and test tools are not developed from scratch according to the rigorous processes of these standards. In order to address this issue, some of the standards provide means for qualifying existing tools as a more lightweight and pragmatic alternative to a regular certification process. In this paper we analyze the concept of these qualification approaches. The result of the analysis in our contribution includes a set of approaches that can be applied individually or as a combination in order to reduce the effort needed for qualifying tools. As a running example we use one of the most flexible but at the same time dangerous, even prohibited, maintenance techniques available: dynamic instrumentation of executing code. With this example, we describe how exceptions in these standards can be utilized in order to qualify a dynamic instrumentation tool with a minimal effort, without following the process of tool certification as defined by the standards.

  • Emergent market innovation : A longitudinal study of technology-driven capability development and institutional work
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of Business Research. - : ELSEVIER SCIENCE INC. - 0148-2963 .- 1873-7978. ; 124, s. 469-482
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Extant literature focuses primarily on deliberate, proactive market-shaping efforts to understand changes in markets. This paper explores how emergent, incremental activities might unintentionally prompt market innovation due to the interactions of capability development and its required institutional work. Using a critical case method, we study a firm that successfully challenged established market logic by systematically changing its capabilities. A longitudinal field study reveals that capability development demands induce changes to institutional foundations; then, as institutions change, further capabilities can be developed, all of which may instigate wider market innovation outcomes. This study conceptualizes this intricate, iterative process, as well as its evolutionary market innovation outcomes. The proposed three-level capability model can guide firms striving to offer new and innovative services. The authors also detail a three-stage research design methodology that can help research and practice gain in-depth understanding of both emergent unintentional market innovation and strategic deliberate market-shaping activities.

  • Service network value co-creation : Defining the roles of the generic actor
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Industrial Marketing Management. - : Elsevier BV. - 0019-8501 .- 1873-2062. ; 56, s. 51-62
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The traditional goods dominant logic lexicon assumes pre-specified and static roles of market participants. Fixed roles such as 'supplier' and 'customer' imply that value creation occurs between two parties (the dyad) and occurs in a specified direction (i.e., from a supplier to a customer). In contrast, service dominant logic suggests that markets are comprised of generic actors engaged-in bilateral actor-to-actor exchanges. However, the generic actor concept is not well developed in existing literature. We contribute to the literature by providing a typology of generic actor roles and identifying multiple types of value that may be co-created in a network. To empirically ground the concepts and generate propositions, we follow the development and deployment of a self-service technology, the Green Fingerprint, in the Swedish commercial real estate industry. Within a service network we find that generic actors assume several roles simultaneously, and may perceive multiple forms of co-created value. Theoretically, this paper offers a basis for further study of the generic actor and types of value, as well as an understanding of how network value co-creation emerges and evolves. Managerially, it offers insights into the existing value and co-creation potential of all actors, even those who are currently passive or reject a value proposition. (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. • Making energy metrics relevant to service firms : from energy conservation to energy productivity
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Journal of Cleaner Production. - : Elsevier Ltd. - 0959-6526 .- 1879-1786. ; 256
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Although energy conservation and reduction in environmental impact are on the international and most national agendas, service firms rarely include energy consumption metrics in their strategic decision-making. One reason for the omission is that for service industries, firm level energy utilization is most commonly measured in kilowatt hours per square meter of office space where changes often related to the space rather than the firm performance. The measure also presents several problems for firms in service industries. First, energy conservation and reduction may be counterproductive for service firms that are growing and require energy to sustain that growth. Second, it may not relate to national and international goals which are often focused on the amount of carbon dioxide produced generating energy than the total amount of energy consumed. Third, it treats energy as a utility rather than a resource in firms’ value creation. Results from a field study focused on service firms in Sweden suggests that focusing on energy productivity overcomes the limitations of existing measures and produces positive results. By conceptualizing energy productivity as output per unit of energy, we create a conservation metric that enables service firms to measure their contributions to energy consumption relative to national economic growth. As a result, energy productivity aligns the interests of service organizations with those of policy makers and conservationists.
