- Under februari 2019 togs 7 dygnsprover på det totala utgående flödet av avloppsvatten från Skånes Universitetssjukhus (SUS) i Malmö samt på det totala inkommande flödet av avlopssvatten till Sjölunda avloppsreningsverk i Malmö, som är Malmös största reningsverk. Syftet var att få kunskap om utgående koncentrationer av läkemedel från sjukhuset i relation till de inkommande koncentrationerna till avloppsreningsverket. Proverna togs från måndag till söndag under en och samma vecka och analyserades med avseende på förekomst av 33 läkemedel, antibiotika och andra mikroföroreningar. Detta innefattade 9 st antibiotika, 19 st läkemedel samt 5 andra kemikalier.

Beyond the global brain differences : intraindividual variability differences in 1q21.1 distal and 15q11.2 bp1-bp2 deletion carriers

- Background: Carriers of the 1q21.1 distal and 15q11.2 BP1-BP2 copy number variants exhibit regional and global brain differences compared with noncarriers. However, interpreting regional differences is challenging if a global difference drives the regional brain differences. Intraindividual variability measures can be used to test for regional differences beyond global differences in brain structure.Methods: Magnetic resonance imaging data were used to obtain regional brain values for 1q21.1 distal deletion (n = 30) and duplication (n = 27) and 15q11.2 BP1-BP2 deletion (n = 170) and duplication (n = 243) carriers and matched noncarriers (n = 2350). Regional intra-deviation scores, i.e., the standardized difference between an individual's regional difference and global difference, were used to test for regional differences that diverge from the global difference.Results: For the 1q21.1 distal deletion carriers, cortical surface area for regions in the medial visual cortex, posterior cingulate, and temporal pole differed less and regions in the prefrontal and superior temporal cortex differed more than the global difference in cortical surface area. For the 15q11.2 BP1-BP2 deletion carriers, cortical thickness in regions in the medial visual cortex, auditory cortex, and temporal pole differed less and the prefrontal and somatosensory cortex differed more than the global difference in cortical thickness.Conclusions: We find evidence for regional effects beyond differences in global brain measures in 1q21.1 distal and 15q11.2 BP1-BP2 copy number variants. The results provide new insight into brain profiling of the 1q21.1 distal and 15q11.2 BP1-BP2 copy number variants, with the potential to increase understanding of the mechanisms involved in altered neurodevelopment.

- Religious Education in year 9 of the Swedish Compulsory School: One part of the national Evaluation of Compulsory School conducted by the Swedish ministry of Education in 2003 deals with Religious Education (RE). It is based on the National Curriculum for RE and focuses on the perspectives of vital questions, faith and tradition and ethics. On basis of the results the authors suggest some directions for future teaching in RE. Concerning vital questions the pupil’s thoughts focus on the big life-issues. More than 70% often think of the meaning of life, the future and death. When asked to evaluate their RE, between 30% and 50% of the pupils state that they had discussed vital questions in class, but still they wish for more discussions. Concerning faith and tradition, the pupils were given tasks about religious festivals and about religious narratives. Here they show lack of more in-depth knowledge and understanding. In ethical dilemmas the pupils show that they are fully capable of taking ethical stands, but they show contradictions between pronounced values and choices in simulated situations. These results also indicate that their solidarity is not very far-reaching. In conclusion, this investigation shows the need to discuss vital questions, ethics, and to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of world religions and cultures. The pupils’ own demands for RE also have full support in the National Curriculum. It is obvious that RE can and should contribute in a substantial way to improve human relations in the multi-cultural and multi-faith Swedish society of today.

- I detta kapitel belyses det religiösa livet i Malmö 1914 som karakteriseras av såväl stora förändringar som en kontinuitet. Svenska kyrkan dominerade det religiösa livet och de två n installerade prästerna Albert Lysander och Anders Svärd kom under lång tid att spela en stor roll i Malmö. Men det religiösa livet präglades också av en rad frikyrkor och missionsföreningar med lokaler runt om i staden. Dessa bedrev omfattande ungdomsverksamhet och socialt arbete bland Malmös fattiga. Under året installerades Nordens största kyrkoorgel i S:t Petris kyrka, och på Baltiska utställningen initierades en debatt om kremering och begravningsskick. Tidningspressen speglade mångfalden och den religiösa debatt som till viss del pågår fortfarande år 2013, men där globala perspektiv och sekularisering är mer framträdande idag. Kampen om själarna i Malmö fortsätter.

- Purpose: Biokinetic and dosimetry studies in laboratory animals often precede clinical radionuclide therapies in humans. A reliable evaluation of therapeutic efficacy is essential and should be based on accurate dosimetry data from a realistic dosimetry model. The aim of this study was to develop an anatomically realistic dosimetry model for Brown Norway rats to calculate S factors for use in evaluating correlations between absorbed dose and biological effects in a preclinical therapy study. Methods: A realistic rat phantom (Roby) was used, which has some flexibility that allows for a redefinition of organ sizes. The phantom was modified to represent the anatomic geometry of a Brown Norway rat, which was used for Monte Carlo calculations of S factors. Kinetic data for radiolabeled BR96 monoclonal antibodies were used to calculate the absorbed dose. Biological data were gathered from an activity escalation study with (90)Y- and (177)Lu-labeled BR96 monoclonal antibodies, in which blood cell counts and bodyweight were examined up to 2 months follow-up after injection. Reductions in white blood cell and platelet counts and declines in bodyweight were quantified by four methods and compared to the calculated absorbed dose to the bone marrow or the total body. Results: A red marrow absorbed dose-dependent effect on hematological parameters was observed, which could be evaluated by a decrease in blood cell counts. The absorbed dose to the bone marrow, corresponding to the maximal tolerable activity that could safely be administered, was determined to 8.3 Gy for (177)Lu and 12.5 Gy for (90)Y. Conclusions: There was a clear correlation between the hematological effects, quantified with some of the studied parameters, and the calculated red marrow absorbed doses. The decline in body weight was stronger correlated to the total body absorbed dose, rather than the red marrow absorbed dose. Finally, when considering a constant activity concentration, the phantom weight, ranging from 225 g to 300 g, appeared to have no substantial effect for the estimated absorbed dose.

- This chapter is based on the Swedish National Evaluation from 2003 in Religion for grade 9. The result presented supports the view that students in grade 9 have an ethical awareness of how to treat their other. They show empathy towards people that are more close to them in relations than towards complete strangers and they show a sense of political awareness and responsibility towards those that have less in life. The students also show solidarity and compassion and they give support for an ethic awareness that is rooted in the actual situations and that changes in accordance with the actual situations. They state that they want to study ethics and life vital questions in the subject religion in school.
