• Antimicrobial susceptibility of invasive pneumococcal isolates from a region in south-west Sweden 1998-2001.
• 2007
• Ingår i: Scandinavian journal of infectious diseases. - : Informa UK Limited. - 0036-5548 .- 1651-1980. ; 39:1, s. 19-27
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• Invasive disease caused by antibiotic resistant pneumococci is a worldwide problem. All invasive pneumococcal strains in an area of south-west Sweden with 1.7 million inhabitants were collected prospectively during 1998-2001. Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined by E-test and correlated to serotypes and clinical characteristics. Of 827 strains, 744 (90%) were susceptible (S) to all agents tested and 83 (10%) were indeterminate (I) or resistant (R) to at least 1 agent. 22 isolates (2.7%) were I to penicillin (MIC >0.06 to < or = 1.0 mg/l), but none were R (MIC >1.0 mg/l). Numbers and proportions of decreased susceptibility against other agents tested were as follows: erythromycin R: 30 (3.6%), clindamycin R: 6 (0.7%), tetracycline R: 16 (1.9%), moxifloxacin R: 1 (0.1%), cotrimoxazole I: 17 (2%) and R: 31(4%). Non-susceptibility to at least 1 agent was not correlated with age, clinical manifestation, underlying diseases and outcome. The serotype distribution differed between non-susceptible and susceptible strains. The serotypes in the 7-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine covered 42% of all infections and 73% of those caused by non-susceptible strains. In conclusion, the impact of antibiotic resistance in invasive pneumococcal disease remains limited in south-west Sweden.

• Possibilities and challenges for proactive manufacturing ergonomics
• 2019
• Ingår i: Proceedings of the 20th Congress of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA 2018). - Cham : Springer. - 9783319960678 - 9783319960685 ; , s. 11-20
• Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
• This paper identifies and describes product development activities where ergonomics issues could be considered and illustrates how that could be done through a number of different approaches. The study is divided into two parts where an interview study is done to identify where in a product development process consideration of ergonomics issues are or could be done. The second part of the study includes an observation, motion capture and simulation study of current manufacturing operations to evaluate and compare three different assessment approaches; observational based ergonomics evaluation, usages of motion capture data and DHM simulation and evaluation. The results shows the importance of consideration of ergonomics in early development phases and that the ergonomics assessment process is integrated in the overall product and production development process.

• Bruklighetsuppgifter i ordböcker : ett retoriskt perspektiv
• 2012
• Ingår i: Nordiska studier i lexikografi 11. - : Nordiska föreningen för lexikografi. - 9789185333424 ; , s. 340-352
• Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
• This study examines the background of the homogenous structure of usage labels in dictionaries. A typological analysis of the rhetorical virtues (elocutionis virtutes) and the levels of style (genera dicendi) in classical rhetoric theory encompasses prescriptive as well as descriptive elements and shows that this rhetorical system, emanating from Roman rhetoric, is the base for the still used taxonomy of usage labels.

• Dialektvarieteten : en studie i begreppsbildning
• 2009
• Ingår i: Kieli ja valta : Språk och makt = Sprache und Macht = Language and power. - Vasa : Vasa universitet. - 9789524762885 ; , s. 169-180
• Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
• The concept of 'dialect' is often regarded as self-explanatory and therefore considered not requiring a definition. In cases where definitions do exist, the concept is normally understood as one-dimensional, i.e. the dialect is defined as a diatopic variety, meaning that a functional connection between linguistic criteria and extralinguistic factors of a spatial kind is possible to retrieve. Multi-dimensional dialect definitions are rare, but sometimes concept criteria of diastratic, historical or structure-linguistic kinds are added. The spatial component is scarcely analyzed, with the consequence that the dialec´s relation to spatial aspects appears highly vague. Furthermore, an analysis of the methodology and research praxis of dialectology shows that the concept of 'regional dialect' prevalent within Nordic studies in Sweden is mainly historical but also highly idealized. A functional definition of the concept of 'regional dialect' must be multi-dimensional (encompassing diatopic, diastratic and diaphatic aspects) and relate, probably to a higher degree than it does today, to functional rather than structure-linguistic concept criteria.

• En ny svensk standardvarietet
• 2010
• Ingår i: Rapport från Konferensen om lexikografi i Norden, Tammerfors 3-5 juni 2009. - Tammerfors : Tammerfors universitet och Språkrådet i Norge. - 9789514481437 - 9514481437 ; , s. 238-252
• Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
• The major part of the wordstock in a Swedish monolingual general dictionary is based on the so-called standard variety of the language. A century ago, this standard variety was well defined, stable and easily recognisable, distinguished as the one used by the elite. Today, changes in society and language have largely resulted in the development of an instable, pluralistic standard variety, marked by insecurity partly towards disintegration and partly towards dissolution of norms. The new standard has somewhat integrated previous specific varieties (e.g. geographical dialects and sociolects), whereby older variety specific langauage traits have now come to be regarded as style markers within the standard variety, and also being influenced by those who speak and write Swedish as their second language. The evolution of new electronic media has resulted in written and oral forms of the language being closer to each other, and also in an ever increasing amount of text being stored, not in the traditionally printed form but, instead, on the net. This new reality must involve important consequences for future lexicography work.
