- Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and the most aggressive primary malignant brain tumor in adults. Although tumor recurrence is inevitable, leptomeningeal spread is relatively rare. We describe a case of leptomeningeal spread recurrent GBM treated with anlotinib in this report. When the recurrent GBM patient had leptomeningeal spread was administered anlotinib 10mg p.o. once every day and added oral temozolomide chemotherapy 100mg/m(2) (days 1-7, days 15-21, 28-day cycle) after 3 months. The patient's overall survival time was more than 5 months and developed oral ulcer and acute cerebral infarction during his oral administration of anlotinib. This patient showed a favorable clinic outcome for treatment of leptomeningeal spread recurrent GBM with anlotinib and didn't show serious side effects.

- Traditionally, process planning and scheduling were performed sequentially, where scheduling was executed after process plans had been generated. Considering the fact that the two functions are usually complementary, it is necessary to integrate them more tightly so that the performance of a manufacturing system can be improved greatly. In this chapter, a multi-agent-based framework has been developed to facilitate the integration of the two functions. In the framework, the two functions are carried out simultaneously, and an optimization agent based on evolutionary algorithms is used to manage the interactions and communications between agents to enable proper decisions to be made. To verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed approach, experimental studies conducted to compare this approach and some previous works are presented. The experimental results show the proposed approach has achieved significant improvement.

- Today's Internet suffers from ever-increasing challenges in scalability, mobility, and security, which calls for deep innovations on network protocols and infrastructures. However, the distributed controlling mechanism, especially the bundle of control plane and the data plane within network devices, sharply restricts such evolutions. In response, the software-defined networking (SDN), an emerging networking paradigm, proposes to decouple the control and data planes, producing logically centralized controllers, simple yet efficient forwarding devices, and potential abilities in functionalities programming. This chapter presents a short yet comprehensive overview of SDN components and the OpenFlow protocol on basis of both classic and latest literatures. The topics range from fundamental building blocks, layered architectures, novel controlling mechanisms, and design principles and efforts of OpenFlow switches.

- The purpose of this chapter is not to describe any lip analysis algorithms but rather to discuss some of the issues involved in evaluating and calibrating labeled lip features from human operators. In the chapter we question the common practice in the field: using manual lip labels directly as the ground truth for the evaluation of lip analysis algorithms. Our empirical results using an Expectation-Maximization procedure show that subjective noise in manual labelers can be quite significant in terms of quantifying both human and algorithm extraction performance. To train and evaluate a lip analysis system one can measure the performance of human operators and infer the “ground truth” from the manual labelers, simultaneously.
