  • 2015
  • Ingår i: COMPUTER VISION - ECCV 2014 WORKSHOPS, PT II. - Cham : Springer. - 9783319161808 - 9783319161815 ; , s. 191-217
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge 2014, VOT2014, aims at comparing short-term single-object visual trackers that do not apply pre-learned models of object appearance. Results of 38 trackers are presented. The number of tested trackers makes VOT 2014 the largest benchmark on short-term tracking to date. For each participating tracker, a short description is provided in the appendix. Features of the VOT2014 challenge that go beyond its VOT2013 predecessor are introduced: (i) a new VOT2014 dataset with full annotation of targets by rotated bounding boxes and per-frame attribute, (ii) extensions of the VOT2013 evaluation methodology, (iii) a new unit for tracking speed assessment less dependent on the hardware and (iv) the VOT2014 evaluation toolkit that significantly speeds up execution of experiments. The dataset, the evaluation kit as well as the results are publicly available at the challenge website (http://votchallenge.net).

  • Molecular Engineering of Triphenylamine-Based Non-Fullerene Electron-Transport Materials for Efficient Rigid and Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces. - : AMER CHEMICAL SOC. - 1944-8244 .- 1944-8252. ; 10:45, s. 38970-38977
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • There has been a growing interest in the design and synthesis of non-fullerene electron transport materials (ETMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which may overcome the drawbacks of traditional fullerene derivatives. In this work, a novel donor-acceptor (D-A) structured ETM termed TPA-3CN is presented by molecular engineering of triphenylamine (TPA) as the donor group and (3-cyano-4,5,5-trimethyl-2(5H)-furanylidene) malononitrile as the acceptor group. To further improve the electron mobility and conductivity and achieve excellent photovoltaic performance, a solution processable n-type dopant is introduced during the ETM spin-coating step. After device optimization, PSCs based on the doped TPA-3CN exhibit an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.2% with a negligible hysteresis. Benefitting from the low temperature and good solution processability of ETM TPA-3CN, it was further applied in flexible inverted PSCs and an impressive PCE of 13.2% was achieved, which is among the highest values reported for inverted flexible fullerene-free PSCs.

  • High-throughput screening and machine learning for the efficient growth of high-quality single-wall carbon nanotubes
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Nano Reseach. - : Tsinghua University Press. - 1998-0124 .- 1998-0000. ; 14, s. 4610-4615
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • It has been a great challenge to optimize the growth conditions toward structure-controlled growth of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). Here, a high-throughput method combined with machine learning is reported that efficiently screens the growth conditions for the synthesis of high-quality SWCNTs. Patterned cobalt (Co) nanoparticles were deposited on a numerically marked silicon wafer as catalysts, and parameters of temperature, reduction time and carbon precursor were optimized. The crystallinity of the SWCNTs was characterized by Raman spectroscopy where the featured G/D peak intensity (IG/ID) was extracted automatically and mapped to the growth parameters to build a database. 1,280 data were collected to train machine learning models. Random forest regression (RFR) showed high precision in predicting the growth conditions for high-quality SWCNTs, as validated by further chemical vapor deposition (CVD) growth. This method shows great potential in structure-controlled growth of SWCNTs. [Figure not available: see fulltext.].

  • A Perylenediimide Tetramer-Based 3D Electron Transport Material for Efficient Planar Perovskite Solar Cell
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Solar RRL. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 2367-198X. ; 1:5
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A perylenediimide (PDI) tetramer-based three dimensional (3D) molecular material, termed SFX-PDI4, has been designed, synthesized, and characterized. The low-lying HOMO and LUMO energy levels, high electron mobility and good film-formation property make it a promising electron transport material (ETM) in inverted planar perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The device exhibits a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.3% with negligible hysteresis, which can rival that of device based on PC61BM. These results demonstrate that three dimensional PDI-based molecular materials could serve as high performance ETMs in PSCs.

  • Efficient dye-sensitized solar cells with [copper(6,6′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine)2]2+/1+ redox shuttle
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: RSC Advances. - : Royal Society of Chemistry. - 2046-2069. ; 7:8, s. 4611-4615
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The [copper(6,6′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine)2]2+/1+ ([Cu(dmbp)2]2+/1+) redox couple, which possesses a distorted tetragonal geometry of a Cu(i) complex crystal and a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry of Cu(ii) complex crystal, has been developed as a redox mediator in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The energy of loss for dye regeneration was reduced with a very low but sufficient driving force of only 0.11 eV. A distinct increase in open-circuit voltage (VOC) was achieved and a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 10.3% was afforded at 100 mW cm−2 under AM 1.5G condition.

  • The crest phenotype in domestic chicken is caused by a 197 bp duplication in the intron of HOXC10
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: G3. - : Oxford University Press. - 2160-1836. ; 11:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Crest mutation in chicken shows incomplete dominance and causes a spectacular phenotype in which the small feathers normally present on the head are replaced by much larger feathers normally present only in dorsal skin. Using whole-genome sequencing, we show that the crest phenotype is caused by a 197 bp duplication of an evolutionarily conserved sequence located in the intron of HOXC10 on chromosome 33. A diagnostic test showed that the duplication was present in all 54 crested chickens representing eight breeds and absent from all 433 non-crested chickens representing 214 populations. The mutation causes ectopic expression of at least five closely linked HOXC genes, including HOXC10, in cranial skin of crested chickens. The result is consistent with the interpretation that the crest feathers are caused by an altered body region identity. The upregulated HOXC gene expression is expanded to skull tissue of Polish chickens showing a large crest often associated with cerebral hernia, but not in Silkie chickens characterized by a small crest, both homozygous for the duplication. Thus, the 197 bp duplication is required for the development of a large crest and susceptibility to cerebral hernia because only crested chicken show this malformation. However, this mutation is not sufficient to cause herniation because this malformation is not present in breeds with a small crest, like Silkie chickens.

  • DEL : Deep embedding learning for efficient image segmentation
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Proceedings Of The Twenty-Seventh International Joint Conference On Artificial Intelligence. - California : International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence. ; , s. 864-870
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Image segmentation has been explored for many years and still remains a crucial vision problem. Some efficient or accurate segmentation algorithms have been widely used in many vision applications. However, it is difficult to design a both efficient and accurate image segmenter. In this paper, we propose a novel method called DEL (deep embedding learning) which can efficiently transform superpixels into image segmentation. Starting with the SLIC superpixels, we train a fully convolutional network to learn the feature embedding space for each superpixel. The learned feature embedding corresponds to a similarity measure that measures the similarity between two adjacent superpixels. With the deep similarities, we can directly merge the superpixels into large segments. The evaluation results on BSDS500 and PASCAL Context demonstrate that our approach achieves a good tradeoff between efficiency and effectiveness. Specifically, our DEL algorithm can achieve comparable segments when compared with MCG but is much faster than it, i.e. 11.4fps vs. 0.07fps.

  • Tuning the HOMO Energy Levels of Organic Dyes for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells Based on Br(-)/Br(3)(-) Electrolytes
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Chemistry - A European Journal. - : Wiley. - 0947-6539 .- 1521-3765. ; 16:44, s. 13127-13138
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A series of novel metal free organic dyes TC301-TC310 with relatively high HOMO levels were synthesized and applied in dye sensitized solar cells (DSCs) based on electrolytes that contain Br(-)/Br(3)- and I(-)/I(3)(-) The effects of additive Li(+) ions and the HOMO levels of the dyes have an important influence on properties of the dyes and performance of DSCs The addition of Li(+) ions in electrolytes can broaden the absorption spectra of the dyes on TiO(2) films and shift both the LUMO levels of the dyes and the conduction band of TiO(2) thus leading to the increase of J(sc) and the decrease of V(oc) Upon using Br(-)/Br(3)(-) instead of I(-)/I(3)(-), a large increase of V(oc) is attributed to the enlarged energy difference between the redox potentials of electrolyte and the Fermi level of TiO(2), as well as the suppressed electron recombination Incident photon to current efficiency (IPCE) action spectra, electrochemical impedance spectra, and nanosecond laser transient absorption reveal that both the electron collection yields and the dye regeneration yields ((sic)(r)) depend on the potential difference (the driving forces) between the oxidized dyes and the Br(-)/Br(3)(-) redox couple For the dyes for which the HOMO levels are more positive than the redox potential of Br(-)/Br(3)(-) sufficient driving forces lead to the longer effective electron diffusion lengths and almost the same efficient dye regenerations, whereas for the dyes for which the HOMO levels are similar to the redox potential of Br(-)/Br(3)(-), insufficient driving forces lead to shorter effective electron-diffusion lengths and inefficient dye regenerations
