  • Simplifying the geometry of an airliner cabin for CFD simulations
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: 12th International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and Climate 2011. - 9781627482721 ; , s. 198-203
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • To study air distribution in commercial aircraft cabins so as to analyze their indoor air quality and thermal comfort, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been frequently used. This study obtained a detailed geometric model by a laser tracking system with reverse engineering for the first-class section of an MD-82 aircraft cabin. By performing CFD simulations for the geometric model with different simplifications and by comparing the numerical results, the differences caused by the simplifications could be estimated. Our numerical simulations used the RNG k-ε model to solve the air distributions. This study concluded that some cabin geometries, such as the windows and seats, can be greatly simplified. Simplification could significantly reduce the grid number that makes the simulations faster.

  • Spectrally overlaid DDO-OFDM transmission enabled by optical power division multiplexing
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: ICOCN 2016 - 2016 15th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks. - : IEEE. - 9781509034918
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Two 8.3-Gb/s spectrally overlaid DDO-OFDM signals are successfully transmitted along 50-km SMF using optical power division multiplexing and received by a successive interference cancellation (SIC) receiver. Spectral efficiency is doubled with optimized optical modulation index and optical power division ratio.

  • Blind deblurring using discriminative image smoothing
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: 1st Chinese Conference on Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision, PRCV 2018. - Cham : Springer Verlag. - 9783030033972 ; , s. 490-500
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper aims to exploit the full potential of gradient-based methods, attempting to explore a simple, robust yet discriminative image prior for blind deblurring. The specific contributions are three-fold: Above all, a pure gradient-based heavy-tailed model is proposed as a generalized integration of the normalized sparsity and the relative total variation. On the second, a plug-and-play algorithm is deduced to alternatively estimate the intermediate sharp image and the nonparametric blur kernel. With the numerical scheme, image estimation is simplified to an image smoothing problem. Lastly, a great many experiments are performed accompanied with comparisons with state-of-the-art approaches on synthetic benchmark datasets and real blurry images in various scenarios. The experimental results show well the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

  • A combined design method for optimal acoustic treatment of annular aeroengine inlet based on cremer impedance
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: 25th International Congress on Sound and Vibration 2018, ICSV 2018. - : International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration, IIAV. - 9781510868458 ; , s. 1248-1255
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A combined design method of impedance of acoustic nacelle is developed based on the Cremer impedance. First, the Cremer method is further extended to provide the theoretical optimum impedance for infinite uniform annular ducts in the presence of a single azimuthal mode and plug flow. Then, with the Cremer impedance being the initial value, the searching optimization based on a finite element sound propagation model is conducted to determine the impedance for maximizing noise reduction under the conditions of nearly actual duct geometry and flow. A design case of impedance of a typical aeroengine inlet is used to evaluate the method. The TL contour against impedance indicates that the combined design can avoid the local solution and find successfully the globally optimum impedance, thereby leading to the maximum sound attenuation. Additionally, the Cremer impedance is quite close to the final optimum impedance in this case, thereby providing not only a good initial impedance but also a proper searching space for the search optimization. Therefore, the combined design method is of high efficiency and accuracy.
