  • International comparison of current transformer calibration systems up to 10 kA at 50 Hz frequency
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: 2016 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM 2016). - 9781467391344
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Current transformers (CTs) are precision devices that scale high currents down to values that can be easily handled by measurement equipment. To support CT applications in revenue metering, a comparison on AC current transformer calibration systems was performed among 15 European national metrology institutes using a precision CT as the travelling device. The first comparison results for the transformation ratios (4, 5, 6, 8, 10) kA/5 A of the travelling CT at nominal burden of 5 VA and 15 VA indicate good agreement between the participating laboratories. The main differences are found for phase displacement, at least partly caused by the instability of the traveling standard.

  • Results of an International Comparison of Instrument Current Transformers up to 10 kA at 50 Hz Frequency
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: CPEM 2018 - Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements. - 9781538609736
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Traceability of the current ratio is crucial for the measurement of electrical energy in revenue metering. A comparison of the AC current ratio was therefore performed within EURAMET in the time period 2012-2016, using a precision CT as the traveling device. The Czech Metrology Institute (CMI) as coordinator processed the measurement results of the 15 European participating laboratories. The comparison of the results for transformer ratios of (4, 5, 6, 8, 10) kA 5 A at 15 VA burden and (4 and 10) kA 5 A ratios at 5 VA burden indicates good agreement between the participating laboratories. The main differences are found for phase displacement, at least in part due to instability of the traveling standard. .

  • Ingår i: Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems - Proceedings. - New York, NY, USA : Association for Computing Machinery. ; , s. 3301-3308, s. 3301-3308

    • Movement-based design is reaching critical mass in HCI, and we can start to identify strategies, similarities and differences in how it is approached. Similarities may include, for example, a strong first person perspective on design, emphasising movement, somatics and aesthetic sensibilities of the designer, as well as starting from the premise that our bodily ways of being in the world are shaped by the ecologies of people, cultural practices and the artefacts we create and use. Different classes of systems are starting to emerge, such as spurring somaesthetic appreciation processes using biofeedback loops or carefully nudging us to interact with our own movements; engaging us in affective loops where the technology takes on a stronger agency, attempting to pull participants into particular experiences; extending on our senses and perception - even creating new senses through technology; social interactions, engaging us to jointly explore movement or touch; even endowing machines with their own 'somatics', exploring our relationship to technology; as well as engaging in larger political issues around the body, such as gender perspectives, or challenging the mind-body divide.

  • HYSTERESIS LOSSES MAGNETIC SUSCEPTOR HEATING RATE CHARACTERIZATION
  • 2023
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Welding techniques are emerging as a new method to join thermoplastic composite parts. They present a fast and efficient alternative to adhesives and mechanical fasteners. Induction welding is a welding technique that relies on the application of an oscillating magnetic field on the joining interface, where a material called a magnetic susceptor generates heat by interacting with the applied magnetic field. In this work, susceptors relying on magnetic hysteresis losses made of polyetherimide (PEI) and nickel (Ni) particles are investigated with varying Ni concentration. The materials are mixed using an internal mixer and pressed to form films approximately 500μm thick. To characterize the heating rates of the susceptor materials, samples are placed on an induction coil – a water-cooled copper tube in which AC current (frequency 388kHz), generates an alternating magnetic field – and the temperature evolution is measured using a thermal camera. An increasing concentration of Ni particles results in increased heating rate and maximum temperature reached by the samples. The temperature-time experimental curves are compared with theoretical heating curves to verify if the model can be used to predict the temperature evolution at the joining interface during a welding process.

  • Standardisation of Electric Road Systems : Report from workshop at FIRM19
  • 2020
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Electric Road System (ERS) is a technology concept that has the potential to dramatically reduce the fossil fuel dependency in the transport system. ERS is defined by electric power transfer from the road to the vehicle while the vehicle is in motion, and could be achieved through different power transfer technologies from the road to the vehicle, such as rail, overhead line, and wireless solutions. The basic technologies for power transfer from the road to vehicles in motion have been developed through various international research projects. In recent years, ERS has moved from conceptual idea to real-world application in countries such as Sweden (2016 and 2018), the United States of America (California 2017), and Germany (2019). In addition, projects are being planned in Italy and China.National and international freight transports in Europe are usually determined by national and EU strategies and regulations. The success of ERS implementation, especially when it comes to a transnational roll-out, depends on using regulatory frameworks to identify areas where adaptation is needed. The work in the CollERS project has included a consideration of ERS in national and EU transport strategies. The present report relates to identification of areas where standards are missing or have to be adapted, as well a stakeholder dialogue (Germany, Sweden, Denmark and EU), e.g. by means of expert interviews at national and EU-level (industry, science, politics, and road administrations).

  • Influence of Glycosylation on Interfacial Properties of Recombinant Mucins : Adsorption, Surface Forces, and Friction
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Langmuir. - : American Chemical Society. - 0743-7463 .- 1520-5827. ; 33:18, s. 4386-4395
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Interfacial properties of two brush-with-anchor mucins, C-P55 and C-PSLex, have been investigated at the aqueous solution/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) interface. Both are recombinant mucin-type fusion proteins, produced by fusing the glycosylated mucin part of P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSLG-1) to the Fc part of a mouse immunoglobulin in two different cells. They are mainly expressed as dimers upon production. Analysis of the O-glycans shows that the C-PSLex mucin has the longer and more branched side chains, but C-P55 has slightly higher sialic acid content. The adsorption of the mucins to PMMA surfaces was studied by quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation. The sensed mass, including the adsorbed mucin and water trapped in the layer, was found to be similar for these two mucin layers. Atomic force microscopy with colloidal probe was employed to study surface and friction forces between mucin-coated PMMA surfaces. Purely repulsive forces of steric origin were observed between mucin layers on compression, whereas a small adhesion was detected between both mucin layers on decompression. This was attributed to chain entanglement. The friction force between C-PSLex-coated PMMA is lower than that between C-P55-coated PMMA at low loads, but vice versa at high loads. We discuss our results in terms of the differences in the glycosylation composition of these two mucins.

  • Business models, Ownership, and Financing Strategies : Implications of an introduction of electric road systems on markets and possible business models
  • 2020
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The need for a rapid and substantial decarbonization of the transport system runs counter to the established development trends in road freight. While the challenges that station-based energy supply systems are facing mainly involve replacing and overcoming propulsion technology, a major challenge facing the implementation of an electric road system (ERS) also includes, to a greater extent, the organizational, financial, and more complicated regulatory issues based on energy-road interactions. The question of whether an ERS is seen as part of the (public) road system or the (private) energy system will fundamentally affect the market structure of an ERS. Different ERS configurations can create new business opportunities for road operators. Different archetypes of business models for ERS-related services can be identified which could enable an opportunity for new value creation for the private sector. Policy measures enabling business model development for an ERS should be diversified and target all actors involved. In cross-border ERS projects, business models for infrastructure operators, freight forwarders, and energy suppliers of ERS have to be embedded in the respective national contexts as well as in an international perspective in order to be sustainable. Otherwise the establishment and operation of ERS are likely to fail. Different legal, economical, and environmental national conditions have to be taken into account and need to be respected. This will most probably lead to country-specific balances between policy push and market pull measures along cross-border ERS corridors. Local differences in the division of responsibilities between public and private actors could also occur and need to be taken into account. By paying proper attention to these points from the very beginning, a key success factor of cross-border ERS is met.
