  • 3D MHD simulation of polarized emission in SN 1006
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Monthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. - : Oxford University Press (OUP). - 0035-8711 .- 1365-2966. ; 449:1, s. 88-93
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We use three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic simulations to model the supernova remnant SN 1006. From our numerical results, we have carried out a polarization study, obtaining synthetic maps of the polarized intensity, the Stokes parameter Q, and the polar-referenced angle, which can be compared with observational results. Synthetic maps were computed considering two possible particle acceleration mechanisms: quasi-parallel and quasi-perpendicular. The comparison of synthetic maps of the Stokes parameter Q maps with observations proves to be a valuable tool to discern unambiguously which mechanism is taking place in the remnant of SN 1006, giving strong support to the quasi-parallel model.

  • Alignment of resources, actors and contexts for value creation : Bringing knowledge management into service-dominant logic
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Quality and Service Sciences. - Bingley : Emerald Group Publishing Limited. - 1756-669X .- 1756-6703. ; 11:3, s. 424-438
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper aims to deepen the understanding of resource integration for value co-creation within service-dominant logic (SDL), by drawing on key knowledge management (KM) concepts. Design/methodology/approach: This conceptual study introduces three key KM concepts, namely, object, agent and context to SDL; thus, deepening the understanding of how resources are becoming when actors are engaged in co-creating value-in-context. Findings: This paper extends understanding of actors’ uses of knowledge in their efforts to co-create value. Paradoxically, SDL takes a phenomenological approach to understanding value co-creation, whereas KM embraces a realist-phenomenological view. Emphasizing knowing rather than knowledge reveals that there is no object without an agent, no agency without context and no knowledge without value-alignment. Thus, the paper contributes to theorizing about resource integration through SDL by identifying the need for effective alignment between relevant objects, capable agents and meaningful contexts for value to emerge. The paper also contributes with four facilitators of object-agent-context alignment: tacit knowledge contextualization, collective sensemaking, shared values among engaged actors and feedback on alignment effectiveness. Originality/value: It advances current conceptualizations of resource integration and value co-creation in SDL by paying explicit attention to a KM perspective. © 2019, Emerald Publishing Limited.

  • Simulated X-ray emission for a runaway model of Kepler's supernova remnant
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Astrophysical Journal. - 0004-637X. ; 649:2, s. 779-787
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We present two-dimensional numerical simulations of a model for Kepler's supernova remnant (SNR) carried out with the YGUAZU-A code. Following previous studies, we have assumed that the peculiar shape of this young remnant arises as a consequence of the interaction of the SNR blast wave with the bow shock formed by the wind of its high velocity progenitor. Furthermore, from our numerical results we have obtained synthetic X-ray emission maps, which can be directly compared with recent and previous observations of this SNR. Our models show that a nice fit with respect to the X-ray morphology and luminosity is obtained for a SN progenitor with mass-loss rate of 5 x 10(-5) M-circle dot yr(-1), an ambient medium density of 10(-2) cm(-3), an initial explosion energy of 8 x 10(50) ergs, and a total ejected mass within 1.4-2.5 M-circle dot. In our simulations, parameters typical of a young population progenitor have not been considered. This model also predicts a similar to 0.3% yearly decrease in the total X-ray luminosity, which is consistent with observed values. The parameters employed in our runs correspond to a Type Ia supernova. Based on our simulations, we find that the expansion rate increases after the SNR blast wave overruns the bow shock, and we discuss whether this can explain the observed difference between the expansion rates measured from sequences of radio and X-ray images.
