  • Spectral Response Measurements of Perovskite Solar Cells
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics. - : IEEE-INST ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS INC. - 2156-3381 .- 2156-3403. ; 9:1, s. 220-226
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A new spectral response (SR) measurement routine is proposed that is universally applicable for all perovskite devices. It is aimed at improving measurement accuracy and repeatability of SR curves and current-voltage curve spectral mismatch factor (MMF) corrections. Frequency response, effects of preconditioning as well as dependency on incident light intensity and voltage load on SR measurements are characterized on two differently structured perovskite device types. It is shown that device preconditioning affects the SR shape, causing errors in spectral MMF corrections of up to 0.8% when using a reference cell with a good spectral match and a class A solar simulator. Wavelength dependent response to incident light intensity and voltage load is observed on both device types, which highlights the need to measure at short-circuit current and maximum power point to correct spectral mismatch. The method with recommendations given ensures that the correct measurement conditions are applied and measurements are corrected for instability in performance.

  • Alkaline and Alkaline-Oxidative Pretreatment and Hydrolysis of Herbaceous Biomass for Growth of Oleaginous Microbes
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Microbial Lipid Production. - New York, NY : Springer Nature. ; , s. 173-182
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This chapter describes methods for generation of hydrolysates amenable to conversion to microbial lipids from herbaceous lignocellulosic biomass utilizing either mild alkali pretreatment with NaOH or alkaline hydrogen peroxide pretreatment with NaOH and H2O2. This pretreatment is followed by enzymatic hydrolysis of the plant cell wall polysaccharides to yield hydrolysates. These hydrolysates are composed primarily of the monosaccharides glucose and xylose as well as acetate and phenolic monomers that may all serve as a source of renewable carbon to produce microbial lipids. Application of these mild pretreatment conditions minimizes the generation of inhibitors, enabling microbial cultivations to often be performed without the need for detoxification.

  • Exploring the Potential of Head Worn Displays for Manual Work Tasks in Industrial Environments
  • 2017
  • Licentiatavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • In this thesis I explore the potential of modern Head-Worn Displays for aiding manual work tasks in the manufacturing industries. In such settings, workers are already supported by using mobile hand-held devices that show instructions and enable the worker to document work tasks. However, the most important disadvantage of hand-held devices is that users need to put them aside when performing tasks that require both of their hands. The current generation of Head-Worn Displays promises hands-free usage with little added complexity and also enables the augmentation of workers’ vision, thereby supporting the work task in a more effective and efficient way.For assessing the potential of Head-Worn Displays on factory floors, a series of studies has been conducted. The studies have been carried out directly on the production line of a German car manufacturer together with workers or in-lab, depending on the study goals. Together with workers and managers in the industrial settings we identified two work tasks whereby support for Head-Worn Displays showed good potential for increasing productivity, quality and worker comfort. The Head-Worn Display support was improved in an iterative manner within a Human-Centred Design approach. The thesis contributes with experiences on introducing Head-Worn Displays in real world settings and for long time periods. The recorded productivity increases attributed to the Head-Worn Displays are discussed, along with worker and manager feedback. For long-term use on a factory floor, extending battery operating time was found to be of central importance. CPU and Camera were identified as the most energy consuming devices and an approach to address that is presented. A benchmark suite is introduced to enable designers, developers, and project managers to make informed decisions when selecting Head-Worn Displays. Finally, a theoretical discussion of Head-Worn Displays is presented by situating them in a sense-based Augmented Reality taxonomy, I proposed.
